New England Fights! Announces Fight Card for FIGHT NIGHT 2 on April 14, 2012

Biddeford, ME (March 22, 2012) – New England Fights! (NEF) returns to the Vacationland state on Saturday, April 14th for Fight Night 2 live from The Arena in Biddeford, Maine. The night will feature a highly anticipated main event bout between Brewer, Maine’s “THE” Ryan Sanders and Mike Winters, as well as fifteen other top-notch matchups.

“New England Fights! is committed to bringing the sport of mixed martial arts to new fans and new markets in Maine and beyond — and that mission continues on April 14th when we bring blockbuster MMA to Biddeford for the first time,” stated Nick DiSalvo, NEF co-owner and promoter. “Our goal is to make sure everyone has an opportunity to witness live the most exciting, action-packed sport in the world.”

“Our April 14th card will feature some of the biggest names from our February show, as well as several new fighters that will fit in perfectly with the talented pool of furious athletes that fans expect to see featured at an NEF show,” stated Matt Peterson, NEF co-owner and matchmaker.

At the top of the ticket at the Biddeford Arena is undefeated prospect Ryan Sanders (3-0) from Young’s MMA. Sanders will be taking on the dangerous Mike Winters (5-2) from the elite Team Bombsquad camp in Cortland, New York. “It’s an honor to fight a top quality opponent like Mike,” stated Sanders. “Fans should bring the popcorn because it’s going to be a show.”

Featured in the co-main event will be regional veteran and crowd favorite Jesse Peterson (5-2) against an opponent to be announced. NEF had scheduled an opponent for Peterson who just recently was suspended in another state, thereby forcing the promotion to search for a new opponent. Peterson is coming off of a quick ground and pound victory at Fight Night 1 and has been training with a renewed focus since returning to the cage after a three and a half year layoff. “It’s a privilege to be coming back to compete at Fight Night 2,” Peterson said. “I’m training hard, feeling energized and I can’t wait to have the best fight of my career in Biddeford in front of the NEF fans.”

Fight Night 2 features 16 amateur and professional mixed martial arts bouts showcasing sportsmen from many of Maine’s top fight camps including Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMAAthletix, Team Headstrong, The Shop, Wai Nei, and many others.
