A World Series with no equal | Las Vegas | Saturday Nov. 3rd on NBC Sports

Sorry folks I'm not crazy.  The World Series of Fighting, is only weeks away.  It's shaping up to be the event of the year for the Las Vegas, Nevada based promotion.  I wonder how Devin Cole, the veteran of 30 pro fights, will feel as he stands across the canvas opposite a K.O. hungry "Pit Bull" named Andrei Arlovski.
Intrigued?  Just a little...

So am I.  I don't need to tell you what having wins over fighters like Sylvia, Eilers, and Nelson say about your abilities in your chosen profession, but what I can tell you is the courage his opponent must have to have in their own abilities because it isn't a smart fight.  By all means pick hard fights and beat the shit out of'em if you have the chance, but a man like Arlovski makes a living by beating people until they are unconcious.  I can see is blood in this fight.  Someone is going to be beat to oblivion in that cage.  Devin Cole possess a 30 fight pro record and after he fights Yost on Oct. 6th for CFA 8 in Florida he'll be 1 win closer to being Andrei's competitor on Nov. 3rd.  Once described as streaky, Cole is a still following that trend with his four last fights being decisions.  Cole is a seasoned veteran of MMA having fought since 2003.  In 2006 he matched-up with Ben Rothwell during their time with The IFL.  He fought Strikeforce's Dan Cormier to decision more recently during Strikeforce 13, Jan 2011.
Andrei is a finisher.  His striking is as dangerous as ever and with two brutally savage wins by ref stoppage Arlovski is set to put those skills to work again.  With 13 K.O.s, a handful of submission wins, and only taking a chance with the judges score card three times we are sure to see a true striking specialist at work.
NBC Sports is bringing this card to you and me for free.  Comcast carries the channel as well as
top Satellite providers; DIRECTV, Dish, 4DTV, C-Band, and FAVE.  So check your line up to see what channel you need to tune in to catch all the action.

Professor Gregor Gracie

On the main card we see Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Gregor Gracie, taking a bet that he will beat RNC specialist and Canadian fighter, Tyson "The Man of" Steele at 170lbs.  Neither man has seen later rounds more than a handful of times between them so they shouldn't be looking for a lengthy fight and that bodes well for us fans.  Also sharing the cage will be UFC's TUF: Season 2 winner, Josh Burkman, looking for a crowd pleasing victory over Gerald Harris.  Both men enjoyed carriers early on that saw most wins coming via submission and ref stoppages.  Lately though the judges have been left to decide for them and as we all know to well, that is not a game any fighter likes to play.  Watch to see who clinches the all important "W".
A super fight is in the works as WSOF looks for the perfect opponent to test the legendary Miguel Angel Torres.  This is no small task for any matchmaker, but as we can see by the other bouts scheduled to make this promotion's inaugural television debut head and shoulders above the rest of the major free televised MMA events remaining in 2012, the challenge is sure to be met head on.  The rest of the card is still being worked out and with a week left in Sept, and all of Oct. left to make great matches you can bet we here at WesternMassMMA.com will be doing our best to keep you informed.
