Buck "Knuckles" Pineau Ready for Middleweight War Saturday in Biddeford

 [NEF Press Release]

Rumford, Maine (July 29, 2013) Imagine this: You’re at your day job in a cool office. You glance out the window and notice a landscaping crew working in the blazing summer heat, backs bent, hands dusty, covered in the sweat and dirt that comes with the profession. From within the artificially chilled confines of your workspace, you might feel a moment of sympathy for the crew. Don’t bother.  If you live near Portland, Maine, one of those landscapers might be the highest ranked, middleweight amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in New England, Buck “Knuckles” Pineau.
And he likes nothing more than a challenge.

Buck “Knuckles”--a nickname earned in the Navy--Pineau, began his fighting career in 2011 and quickly fought his way to a 6 and 2 record, including two consecutive wins this year and a spectacular 11 second knockout in 2012.

“Buck Pineau has been begging us for bigger opportunities since the first day he set foot in the NEF cage,” stated NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. “He’s one of a rare select few that constantly come forward asking for tougher and tougher opponents. Buck is a gamer.”

Buck does not fight for the glory, though. For him, the draw is visceral. “MMA is the ultimate challenge,” he stated. “Two guys behind a locked door. No more talking. You have to prove yourself.”

“Buck is a banger,” stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “If he had it his way, he would keep every fight standing and stun the audience with a knockout finish every time he competes. He loves to fight and it shows every time he competes.”

On August 3rd, at the Biddeford Arena, Buck will have a chance to prove himself against Isaiah Queen (2-1), the 4th ranked amateur middleweight fighter in New England.

“(Isaiah) is a tough guy. He’s intense and he likes to go hard. It’ll be a great fight,” said Pineau. And how does he expect the fight to turn out? “It’ll be a stand-up battle. I’m hoping to knock someone out.”

Buck “Knuckles” Pineau trains at Choi’s Institute of Martial Arts by night, and works for Spiritual Workers in a Physical World by day. His opponent, Isaiah Queen, trains with Team Anubis out of Rollinsford, NH.   Both men hold recent victories over fellow top-ten-ranked middleweight, the rugged Allan Josselyn (3-3).  Both men will bring their A-game to the Biddeford Arena this Saturday night.  And both men, no doubt, will be looking to remain atop the middleweight rankings in the northeast.
