Lewiston, Maine (March 20, 2014) – New England Fights Mixed Martial Arts (NEF MMA) today announced the full card for the fight promotion's May 10, 2014 event. The card is scheduled to take place at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine with a bell time of 7:00 PM EDT. The event is currently set to feature six professional bouts along with a full slate of amateur matchups.
The main event for the evening will feature reigning Maine State Bantamweight Champion Paul Gorman (10-8) of Portland, Maine defending his strap against the challenge of undefeated Kin "Kong" Moy (5-0) from Boston, Massachusetts. Gorman is riding high after a successful title defense this past November over Tateki Matsuda (7-4) in a match that was voted "Fight of the Year" for 2013 by fans. The co-main event of the evening will feature a rematch for the Maine State Welterweight Title when reigning champion Gil de Freitas (15-5) of Brazil defends against Brewer, Maine's "The" Ryan Sanders (6-4). Last month, Sanders defeated the legendary Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis (22-11) to earn a rematch with de Freitas at NEF XIII.
On the amateur portion of the card, top-ranked regional middleweight Buck "Knuckles" Pineau (7-2) will make his return to the cage against nationally-ranked, and Florida champion, Zach Elkins (11-5). Pineau suffered a knee injury last August during a bout in Biddeford, Maine that sidelined him for nine months. The amateur card will also feature top-ranked featherweights "Dangerous" Dom "Hands of Stone" Cofone (4-3) and Aaron Lacey (3-0) squaring off.
