CAGE TITANS 24 6/20/2015 TEASER

Cage Titans returns to Plymouth Memorial in Plymouth Massachusetts on June 20th, 2014 for their 24th show to date.  Mr. Polvere and company have put together another solid card for the night which includes 18 fights total and 4 of them are pro.  Also on the night are 2 fantastic amateur title fights (one was scrapped this week) and 2 female bouts!  The Memorial Hall is a great venue to watch as fights as it is all stadium seating and there isn't a bad seat in the house.  Before the show there will be plenty to do as shirts are sold, pizza, burgers, beer and soda.  Do not wait last minute to get your tickets because at the last show they sold out.  Prime Athletics will be in the house with some new items in their arseenal for you to purchase! The doors will open at 6pm and the first fight will start around 7pm.  Let me break down the fight card for you....

At 185 lbs Mike Fleming steps into the cage against Zach DiSabatino.  Fleming trains with 3V Martial Arts and comes into this fight with an 0-0 record.  His opponent is Zach DiSabatino and he trains with SSSF.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  This fight is exciting to me because with two new fighters, you never know what to expect!  Who knows one of these guys might be the next big fighter in New England!

At a catch weight of 150 lbs Bobby Baker will face John Douma in the Cage Titans cage.  Baker trains out of Victory and will be making his amateur debut.  Being from team Victory and under Pat Walsh we know he will be ready.  His opponent is John Douma who trains with Triforce MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He fought at the last CT event and won by submission against Tim Cenabre in Round 2.  Once again, another close record which in return should be another awesome battle.

155lb AM  Ryan Cushing (1-0, Victory) vs Jimmy Schwalm (0-1, Independent)

Ryan Cushing steps into the Cage Titans cage against Jimmy Schwalm at 155lbs.  Cushing trains with Victory which makes for their second fighter on the card for the night.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with a submission victory against Jimmy Schwalm at a previous Office to Octagon show.  Jimmy Schwalm is an independent fighter and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  The first fight ended real quick in just 1:37 seconds so we will have to see how this rematch plays out!

At 135lbs Hannah Murello will take on Kitauna Parker in the female division.  Hannah trains out of Team Triumph and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  She won her first bout at a previous Combat Zone against Lisa Dello Russo by submission in Round 2.  Her opponent is Kitauna parker and she trains with Carlson Gracie.  She will be making her amateur debut.  In the first fight for Murello she dominated the fight and showed great takedowns.  This is going to be a real fun fight to watch.

Hvy AM  Owen Finnegan (1-1, IKS) vs Brendan Battles (0-0, GFMMA)

Next amateur fight is between Owen Finnegan and Brendan Battles in a heavyweight showdown.  Finnegan comes into this fight with a 1-1 record and trains with IKS.  He lost one fight by submission and won 1 fight by ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is Brendan Battles and he trains with GF MMA.  Battles not only has a perfect last name for a fighter but he is also making his amateur debut.  The heavies always hit hard so this should be an exciting fight.

In the 170lb division Scott Sullivan will face off against Andy Kurzontkowski.  Sullivan trains with Maxx and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his only battle against Mitch Barrish by submission in Rd 3 at a previous Cage Titans event.  His opponent is Andy Kurzontkowski and he trains with Rivera Athletics.  Andy K will be making his amateur debut.  Once again another well matched fight which in return will be another entertaining fights for the fans.

155lb AM  Angelo Richardson (2-0, Speed School) vs Bobby Gasdia (1-0, SSSF)

Next up is Angelo Richardson against Bobby Gasdia in the 155 lb division.  Richardson trains with Speed School MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  He won both of his fights by submission all in the first round.  His opponent is Bobby Gasdia and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by submission in Rd 1.  As you can see once again another close match and both fighters like to submit their opponents.  This one should be a solid back and forth ground battle.

125lb AM  Mike Brown (3-3, Boston Combat) vs Max Barrett (4-4-1, GFMMA)

At 125 lb Mike Brown takes on Max Barrett this Saturday in the Cage Titans.  Mike Brown trains with Boston Combat and comes into this fight with a 3-3 record.  He has 2 wins by submission and 1 win by decision so far in his amateur career.  For his losses he lost all 3 by submission.  His opponent is no stranger to the Cage Titans cage and he is Max Barrett.  He comes into this fight with a 4-4-1 record and trains with GFMMA.  He has 3 wins by ko/tko and 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  In his last fight it turned out to be a majority draw against Aslan Octiev.  As you can see on paper both fighters can go the distance and love to stand up and strike and that my friends is a recipe for an exciting battle!

115lb AM  Devon Estes (1-1, Martinez BJJ) vs Hilarie Rose (1-0, USMMA)

At 115lbs Devon Estes will face off against Hilarie Rose.  Estes trains with Martinez BJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  Estes is Steve McCabe's fiance and is coming to fight from Philadelphia.  She has 1 loss by ko/tko and 1 win by submission.  This is the first time she is fighting up in Mass and I am excited to see what she has to offer to the women's division.  Her opponent is Hilarie Rose and she trains with USMMA.  She comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with a 14 second head kick knockout from a previous CFX fight against Tiffany McCoy.  Another well matched women's fight on the card and I see this one being a great stand up battle.

170lb AM Barry Liseno (1-3, Indy) vs Joe Giannetti (4-0, SSSF)

Barry Liseno stepped in last minute to face the opponentless Joe Giannetti at 170lbs.  Liseno is an independent fighter who comes into this fight with a 1-3 record.  Barry has 1 win by submission against Brian Corvese at a previous Premier FC show.  For his losses he has 1 by ko/tko, 1 sub and 1 by decision.  He always has exciting fights and is not afraid to step up against the cream of the crop.  His opponent is Joe Giannetti and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a perfect 4-0 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  I think this one could be a potential for fight of the night as I see it being a stand up war and I see it coming down to a decision.

**155 AM TITLE Don Shainis ( 4-0 Victory)  vs. Jacob Weeks (3-1 SBG East) **Cancelled

135 AM TITLE Will Smith (DCNU 4-0) vs. Kris Moutinho (4-2 Rivera Athletics)

For the first amateur title fight of the night Will Smith will face the current Cage Titans 135 lb champ Kris Moutinho.  Smith trains with DCNU and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record.  I was not able to find one of his wins but he has 2 wins by decision and 1 by submission.  His opponent and the champ is Kris Moutinho who trains with Rivera Athletics.  He comes into this fight with a 4-2 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 2 subs and 1 decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by decision and 1 by submission.  I see this fight being a ground battle and it is going to come down to who can take who down.  Both of these guys are explosive and this fight is going to be a back and forth battle.

185 AM TITLE Pat McCrohan ( 4-0 Gillett's MMA) vs. Sean Evans (3-0 Simler BJJ)

At 185 lbs Pat McCrohan will face Sean Evans for the amateur title.  McCrohan, the champ trains with Gillett's MMA and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record.  He has 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 wins by decision.  In his last fight he won the belt against Shane Mulligan which in my opinion was fight of the year candidate so far.  His opponent is Sean Evans who trains with Simler BJJ.  He comes into this fight with a 3-0 record with all 3 wins by decision.  How can you not love this fight?  Not only is it for the title and you know both fighters are going to bring it but both fighters are undefeated and one of them will suffer their first loss!  I see this one going the distance with all 5 rounds.

145 PRO Manny Torres( 2-4 Kipp's Basement)  vs. Manny Bermudez (0-0 SSSF)

For the first pro fight of the night Manny Torres takes on Manny Bermudez.  Finally Manny Bermudez makes his pro debut!  Torres comes into this fight with a 2-4 record and trains with Kipp's Basement.  He has 1 win by submission and 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  He fought at the last Cage Titans and must have enjoyed what he saw and here he is stepping into the Cage Titans cage once again.  His opponent is Manny Bermudez who trains with SSSF.  He will be making his pro debut and has had an outstanding amateur career.  He pretty much beat every fighter that was put in front of him and is a submission specialist.  Torres in this fight has the pro fight experience over Bermudez but he has had plenty of amateur fights and I think he will adjust just fine to the pro.

180 PRO Stephen Stengel (5-11 Ind) vs. Sean Lally (3-1 GFMMA)

At a catch weight of 180lbs Stephen Stengel takes on Sean Lally.  Stengel is an independent fighter/cowboy who comes into this fight with a 5-11 record.  Stengel has been fighting professionally for over a decade and is on a 3 fight losing streak.  He has lost the majority of his losses by way of decision.  He never gives up though and has the fight experience going into this one.  His opponent is Sean Lally who trains with GFMMA.  Lally comes into this fight with a 3-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by submission.  I was not able to find out one of his fights.  For his only loss, he lost 1 by submission against Brandon Chagnon.  Stengel has the experience coming into this fight but Lally is tough as nails and I see him winning this one by brutal ground and pound.

125 PRO Nick Iaciofano ( 1-0 US MMA) vs Tim Wheeler ‪(1-0 Maestre MMA)

At 125lbs Nick Iaciofano takes on Tim Wheeler.  Nick comes into this fight with a 1-0 record and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first pro fight at a previous Cage Titans by ko/tko against Anthony Carmenatty.  He has deadly hands and has some slick submission.  I have been impressed with Nick in every one of his fights I have seen.  His opponent is Tim Wheeler and he trains with Maestre MMA.  He also comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He has 1 win by submission in an Hawaii Regional event which I assume was in Hawaii.  On paper these guys have an identical record but I give the slight edge to Iaciofano and I see him taking this by submission.

145 PRO Steve McCabe (6-16 Martinez BJJ) vs. Fernando Perez (6-12 NSMT)

In the main event Steve McCabe battles it out with Fernando Perez at 145lbs.  McCabe is fighting in this event alongside his finace Devon Estes which is pretty awesome feeling.  He trains with Martinez BJJ and comes into this fight with a 6-16 record from Philadelphia.  McCabe has deadly hands with the majority of his wins coming by ko/tko and he will want to use that to his advantage in this one.  For his losses, most of them were by submissions.  His opponent is Fernando Perez who trains with NSMT.  He comes into this fight with a 6-12 record with 1 ko/tko, 2 sub and 3 decision victories.  His losses were spread out with losses by ko/tko, subs and decisions.  Both of these guys are seasoned veterans with a plethora of fights under their belts which should make for a solid battle.  I see this one going to a decision.
