CORA TAKES TRIP TO MAINE FOR A WELTERWEIGHT SHOWDOWN

PORTLAND, ME (AUGUST 23,2015) – As both Michael Cora and Andrew Tripp venture into their first professional bout together the two welterweight phenoms will have to first say good-bye to the amateur ranks they’ve built and owned for the past three years. The two welterweight stand-outs have already begun to exchange pleasantries.

Andrew Tripp (9-1 amateur, 5 Sub) of Biddeford, Maine has been extremely dominant in the New England MMA circuit filled with tough welterweights. “I haven’t ran into many guys that can hang with me in the cage” says Tripp. “Cora comes from a super tough team in Florida, so I’m praying he comes ready for a fight people will talk about.”
The Team Irish product has been measured as a ground specialist but admits he’s been working his striking quite a bit for his first professional bout. “My striking is coming a long, long way from where it started. Working with Buck Pineau has been phenomenal and I’m going to show how dominant my hands, feet, elbows, and knee’s can be in October. I’ve been known as a wrestler and I’m sure Cora is probably preparing for that. I just hope his jaw is ready for my shin too!”

“I’ll excel where ever I decide to take this fight. If I keep it up on the feet or if I decide to take it to the ground, I will dominate every aspect of this fight!” Says Michael Cora (6-2 Amateur, 4 KO’s) of Tampa, Florida. A product of UFC Veteran Matt Arroyo of Gracie Tampa, Cora like Tripp is very confident he will begin his pro career with a “W”. Six wins as an amateur in a very competitive MMA circuit in Florida has brought him 4 knockouts with a great striking game. “I’m not worried about his wrestling, I have better wrestling than him. I will dominate this fight!”

“Andrew Tripp, I will come to Portland Maine on October 3rd and finish you in devastating fashion!”

Michael Cora will travel up the east coast in search of his first professional win as he invades Andrew Tripp’s fight venue of Portland, Maine. A main card featured fight for Toe2Toe October 3rd.
