THE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE IS UP FOR GRABS AT NEF 21

[NEF Press Release]

Lewiston, Maine (December 11, 2015) – New England Fights (NEF), America's number-one regional fight promotion, will hold its next event, "NEF 21: THE IMMORTALS" on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine.  The fight card is scheduled to feature both mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing bouts.  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur welterweight championship bout to the "NEF 21" fight card.  Caleb Farrington (3-0) is scheduled to meet Ricky Dexter (4-2) at a fight weight of 170-pounds for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Championship.

Farrington is coming off a win in the NEF MMA cage in Lewiston earlier this fall.  At "NEF XX" last month, Farrington secured his third win in a row to remain perfect at an undefeated 3-0.  Moreover, the submission win was Farrington's third finish of his young career.  He is a member of Team Lawton Martial Arts - a New England United (NEU) affiliate.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to fight again," said Farrington.  "I will take this as serious as any other fight.  I grow every day, and I'm looking forward to showcasing my abilities."

Like Farrington, Ricky Dexter is coming off a big win at "NEF XX."  He scored a first-round knockout of Steven Bang (3-4) that evening.  In doing so, Dexter bounced back from a two-fight losing streak which began last summer with an unsuccessful attempt to win the amateur lightweight title.  Dexter, a veteran of the United States Navy, is a member of Marcus Davis' Team Irish in Brewer, Maine where he runs the fitness program "207 Athletes."

"I couldn't ask for a better way to start off the year than a big fight with Caleb Farrington," said Dexter.  "You better believe that I'm going to do everything in my power to get this strap.  2016 is going to be my year."

New England Fights' next event, "NEF 21: THE IMMORTALS," takes place Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine.  Tickets for "NEF 21" start at just $25 and are on sale now at www.TheColisee.com or by calling the Colisée box office at 207.783.2009 x 525.  For more information on the event and fight card updates, please visit the promotion’s website at www.NewEnglandFights.com.  In addition, you can watch NEF videos at www.youtube.com/NEFMMA, follow them on Twitter @nefights and join the official Facebook group “New England Fights.”
