NEF 36 Battle For Gold TEASER 11/17/2018

NEF 36

New England Fights returns this Saturday on November 17th for their 36th show and their final show of the year.  It will take place in Portland Maine at Club Aura for an action packed night of mixed martial arts.  NEF has put together a solid fight card with 14 total including 4 of them being professional fights with 2 of them being title fights.  The co main event features The Ryan Sanders defending his belt against Jacob Bohn and then the first NEF cruiserweight champion will strapped when Ras Hylton takes on Yorgan De Castro.  Please follow along as I break down the fight card in its entirety.  Take note as this should be the exact fight order for the night.

125 AM Chelsea Tucker 0-2 (First Class MMA) vs BJ Garceau 1-0 (Young’s MMA)

The first fight will be against Chelsea Tucker and BJ Garceau.  Tucker trains with First Class MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-2 record.  She lost 1 fight by ko/tko, submission and 1 by decision.  She has been training hard and still hungry for that first taste of victory.  Her opponent is BJ Garceau and she trains with Young's MMA.  She comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with her first win by split decision against Sarah Zeihm.  The ladies are set to get the crowd ready for an action packed night and I see this one going to a decision in a close battle.

175 AM Jon Assam 0-0 (CMBJJ) vs Jordan Norman 0-1 (Bad Little Falls Dojo)

At 175 lbs Jon Assam will be taking on Jordan Norman.  Assam trains with CMBJJ and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Jordan Norman and he trains with Bad Little Falls Dojo.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes in Rd 1 to Zac Richard.  Not much insight can be added to this one as both are basically new fighters but predict it will be a ground battle.

155 AM Mohammad Al Kinani 4-1 (Evolution Athletix) vs Clifford Redman 0-6 (Independent)

Then at 155 lbs Mohammad Al Kinani will be taking on Clifford Redman.  Al trains with Evolution Athletix and comes into this fight with a 4-1 record.  For his wins, he has 3 by ko/tko and 1 decision.  He lost his last fight by submission in Round 2.  His opponent is Clifford Redman and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-6 record with 3 losses by ko/tko to strikes and 3 by submission.  I am not sure what happened here but I see Kinani winning this easily in Round 1 by ko/tko to strikes.

135 AM Schuyler Vaillancourt 0-0 (Nostos) vs Felipe Gunther 0-0 (First Class MMA)
At 135 lbs Schuyler Vaillancourt will be challenging Felipe Gunther. Schuyler trains with Nostos and will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Felipe Gunther and he trains with First Class MMA. He will also be making his amateur debut. A double amateur debut should be a good one in front of the NEF fans.

155 AM Brandon Mailet-Fevens 0-0 (CMBJJ) vs Ben Peters 0-0 (Titan Athletics)
Next up is at 155 lbs Brandon Mailet-Fevens will be taking on Ben Peters. Brandon trains with CMBJJ and he will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Ben Peters and he trains with Titan Athletics. He will also be making his amateur debut. Two new fighters looking to make a name for themselves in front of the NEF crowd.

140 AM Megan Rosado 0-0 (Evolution Athletix) vs Glory Watson 1-0 (Young’s MMA)
Then at a catch weight of 140 lbs Megan Rosado will be facing off against Glory Watson. Rosado trains with Evolution Athletix and she will be making her amateur debut. Her opponent is Glory Watson and she trains with Young's MMA. She comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with her 1 win by arm triangle in Round 1. She would love to get another submission victory in front of the fight fans once again. This is going to be a close fight as both fighters are from excellent schools.

155 AM Zac Richard 2-0 (Nostos) vs Chris Lachcik 0-1 (Independent)
At 155 lbs Zac Richard will be stepping into the cage against Chris Lachcik. Richard trains with Nostos MMA in NH and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins being way of ko/tko to strikes. His opponent is Chris Lachcik and he is an independent fighter. He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by armbar against Andrew Brown. You have all seen the press release so you know what fighting means to Zac Richard and who he is fighting for. This should be another good war.

135 AM Nate Boucher 2-3 (CMBJJ) vs Jordan Young 1-1 (Independent)
Next up is Nate Boucher facing off against Jordan Young at 135 lbs. Boucher trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 2-3 record. Boucher in the win column has 1 win by submission and 1 win by decision. For his losses, he lost 2 by split decisions and 1 by ko/tko to strikes in Round 3. His opponent is Jordan Young and he is an independent fighter. He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by decision. This one is going to be a good one as both fighters have proven they can go the distance and I see it being a ground battle.

140 AM Henry Clark 4-4 (Choi Institute) vs Killian Murphy 1-1 (Nostos)
Then at 140 lbs Henry Clark will be taking on Killian Murphy. Clark trains with Choi Institute and comes into this fight with a 4-4 record. For his wins he has all 4 wins by submission. He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 loss by ko/tko. Clark will be wanting to get this fight to the ground where he can work a submission and Murphy will want to keep this fight standing where he can bang.

135 AM Taylor Thompson 2-0 (BST) vs Catie Denning 1-0 (Young’s MMA)
In the final amateur fight of the night Taylor Thompson will be coming up to fight Catie Denning at 135 lbs. Thompson trains with BST and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 win by dr stoppage and other win by submission. She has been making a big name for herself in front of the Cage Titans crowd and is now looking to impress the NEF crowed. Her opponent is Catie Denning and she trains with Young's MMA. She comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with her sole win by decision against Chelsea Tucker. This is going to be a back and forth battle and could definitely be a fight of the night contender.

145 PRO Matt Probin 2-0 (Recon) vs Lionel Young 7-15 (Citadel Martial Arts)
In the first pro fight of the night Matt Probin will be taking on Lionel Young at 145 lbs. Probin trains with Recon and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record. He has his 2 wins by beating the same guy twice by ko/tko in Rd 1. His opponent is Lionel Young and he trains with Citadel Martial Arts. He comes into this fight with a 7-15 record. For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko and 6 by way of submission. For his losses, he has 4 losses by ko/tko, 7 by submissions and 4 by decision. I see this fight being a stand up battle.

125 PRO Ernesto Ornelas 4-7 (Choi Institute) vs Jose Lugo 3-0 (BST MMA & Fitness)
Next up is Ernesto Ornelas squaring off against Joe Lugo at 125 lbs. Ernie trains with Choi Institute and comes into this fight with a 4-7 record with 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision. For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 5 by submission. His opponent is Jose Lugo and he trains with BST MMA and Fitness. He comes into this fight with a 3-0 record with 1 ko/tko and 2 wins by submission. He will be taking the trip up north from Rhode Island and he ain't looking to lose. I see this fight being a great back and forth stand up war.

225 PRO TITLE Ras Hylton 3-1 (First Class MMA) vs Yorgan De Castro 2-0
At 225 lbs Ras Hylton will be taking on Yorgan De Castro for the very first professional cruiserweight title for NEF. Ras trains with First Class MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-1 record with all 3 wins by ko/tko. His one loss came by ko/tko to strikes at a former CES event. His opponent is Yorgan De Castro and he comes into this fight with a 2-0 records with both wins by ko/tko to strikes. When these two behemoths collide in the cage I see this one being an all out war for the belt and I don't see it going into the deep rounds.

155 PRO TITLE Ryan Sanders 17-9 (Young’s MMA) vs Jacob Bohn 7-5 (Behring Jiu Jitsu NY)

The main event will have Ryan Sanders defending his belt against Jacob Bohn at 155 lbs. Sanders of course trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 17-9 record. Sanders has the majority of his wins by submissions and decisions. For his losses they are almost all by way of decision as he is very hard to finish. His opponent is Jacob Bohn and he trains with Behring Jiu Jitsu NY. He comes into this fight with a 7-5 record with 1 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 3 by decisions. For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 1 by submissions and 1 by decision. I see this one being a fight of the night contender and a stand up war.
