UP-AND-COMING LIGHTWEIGHTS TAKE TO THE CAGE AT NEF 40

Mike Murray
[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Orono, Maine (July 22, 2019) – New England Fights (NEF) will debut in Orono on September 7, 2019 at the Collins Center for the Arts with the promotion's next mixed-martial-arts event, "NEF 40: School of Hard Knocks."  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur lightweight bout to the card.  "Magic" Mike Murray (1-0) will face Jordan Crim (1-0) at a fight weight of 155 pounds.

Mike Murray was victorious in his NEF debut last month over fellow-debut Dylan Williams (0-1) via submission in the first-round.  A native of Michigan now based in Maine, Murray currently serves in the United States Marine Corps (USMC).  He has been mentored in his early MMA career by former NEF Amateur Heavyweight Champion Nick "The Guardian" Gulliver (4-1).  Murray represents both Camden Combat and The Foundry.

"This is my stage, this is my time, this is my dream and my legacy," stated Murray.  "Jordan is just a guy in my way. There is nothing Jordan can do to stop me from absolutely dominating him in front of all his friends and family. He got extremely lucky in his first fight, but he better pack a lunch if he thinks he can beat me with luck. Someday, Jordan will be telling his kids that he got to fight me. Get your tickets now to witness the 'Magic Show' on September 7th.”

Jordan Crim had a very impressive debut last month at "NEF 39."  Crim only needed eight seconds to score a technical knockout on the more-experienced Joe Howard (1-3).  After rocking Howard with a brutal right hand in the opening seconds, Crim pounced on his opponent with a flurry of unanswered shots that left the referee no choice but to stop the fight.  Crim currently represents the United Fighting Arts Institute (UFAI) based in Burlington, Vermont.

“I’m looking forward to bringing a brutal fight to the beautiful state of Maine," said Crim when reached for comment.  "I’m honored to be called back to the NEF show! Come out and check out the fights—you won't be disappointed!”

New England Fights' next mixed-martial-arts event, "NEF 40: SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS," will take place Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Collins Center for the Arts at the University of Maine as the promotion debuts in Orono, Maine.  Tickets are on sale now at www.collinscenterforthearts.com.
