PEARSON WILL TRY TO BECOME FIRST TO DERAIL THE MULE TRAIN AT NEF 43

Nate White

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Orono, Maine (February 21, 2020) – New England Fights (NEF) will present its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event at the Collins Center for the Arts on the University of Maine’s flagship Orono campus.  The event, titled “NEF 43: Rampage,” will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2020, with a bell-time of 7 pm EDT.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card.  Undefeated Nate “The Mule” White (5-0) is scheduled to face Phil Pearson (0-2) at a fight weight of 165 pounds.

Nate White’s rise to the top of the MMA scene in New England has been nothing short of meteoric.  The bout at “NEF 43” will be White’s sixth in less than a year.  He was voted the “2019 Rookie of the Year” by NEF fans after going 4-0.  White followed up his rookie year with first-round finish of Brian Cosco (5-9) earlier this month in Portland, Maine.

Nate White currently serves his country as a member of the Maine Army National Guard.  He is a 2018 graduate of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine where he wrestled and played football.  White represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) of Lewiston, Maine.

“The Mule Train isn’t slowing down for anyone—especially not for Phil Pearson,” White declared.  “My job is simple—to keep clippety cloppin’ right to the top. I plan on continuing to win with style in 2020. Special thanks to my friends and family that continue to support me on this ride.  All aboard!”

Phil Pearson
Phil Pearson is a veteran of two previous fights in the NEF cage.  In 2015, he lost a razor-thin split decision to Scott Godbois (1-0) in his debut.  He returned in 2017 in a loss to the currently number-one-ranked lightweight in New England Mohammad Al Kinani (7-1).  Pearson will look to become the first competitor to defeat Nate White in the NEF cage when they meet in Orono on April 18.  He currently represents First Class MMA based in Brunswick, Maine.

“I'm excited and confident to get back in the cage, especially against a game opponent,” said Pearson.  “With my team in my corner and the training put in for this bout, I hope to put on a show.”

New England Fights' next mixed-martial-arts event, "NEF 43: Rampage," will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Collins Center for the Arts at UMaine Orono. Tickets will be on sale this week at www.CollinsCenterfortheArts.com.
