📰 NEWS--📰KYLE HILL SET FOR PRO DEBUT AT “NEF 53” IN PORTLAND

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (June 30, 2023) – New England Fights returns to Merrill Auditorium in Portland with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 53: American Valor,” on Saturday, July 8, 2023.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional welterweight bout to the card.  Kyle Hill (0-0) is set to take on Cornelius Williams (0-0) in a double pro debut at 170 pounds.

Kyle Hill will make his pro debut in the fight.  Hill had a perfect amateur record of 4-0 with three finishes and one decision.  He captured the NEF Amateur Welterweight Championship with a technical knockout win in the third round over Curtis Ouellette (3-5) at “NEF 48” in the summer of 2022.  Hill represents Nostos MMA based in Somersworth, New Hampshire where he trains under UFC veteran and former NEF Pro Lightweight Champion Devin Powell (10-5).

“I’m excited to make my pro debut,” said Hill. “It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but I’m really just putting my foot through the door.  But don’t get it twisted, I’m ready. I teach, train, eat and sleep. This is my life and I’ve been training like a professional for years. July 8th I get to show you that this is not a game to me!”

Hill’s opponent, Cornelius Williams, will also be making his pro debut on July 8.  Williams represents Train to Go MMA & Fitness based in New York.

“NEF 53: American Valor” takes place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine.  Doors are scheduled to open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm.  Tickets to “NEF 53” are available now at www.porttix.com.

📰 NEWS--📰 KYLE HILL READY TO CHALLENGE FOR WELTERWEIGHT TITLE

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (July 7, 2022)

At the tender age of 21, Kyle Hill considers himself already a strong practitioner of all the disciplines needed to become an amateur champion in mixed martial arts (MMA).

He believes the diverse cast with whom he trains every day at Nostos MMA, not far from his hometown of Northwood, New Hampshire, gives him an even greater edge as he chases those early glories.

Hill (2-0) gets his chance to put it all together and walk out of the New England Fights (NEF) hexagon with a strap around his waist Saturday, July 30, when he confronts Curtis Ouellette (3-3) for the vacant 170-pound NEF amateur title.

It’s one of the primary attractions of NEF 48: “Heatwave,” to be held in the scenic outdoor venue at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine. Opening bell time is 7 p.m.

📰 NEWS--📰 WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE DECIDED AT NEF 48

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (June 25, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 48: Heatwave” on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Rink at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine.  The event will be NEF’s first outdoor event since “NEF 8” in 2013.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur welterweight title bout to the card.  Curtis Ouellette (3-3) will face Kyle Hill (2-0) at a weight of 170 pounds for the vacant strap.

Curtis Ouellette is riding a two-fight win streak on his way to the title fight at “NEF 48.”  He started 2022 with a bang at “NEF 46” when he defeated Christopher Smith (0-1) by third-round technical knockout (TKO) in February.  He continued his winning ways last month at “NEF 47” with another TKO victory over George Demers (1-3).  Ouellette represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in Lewiston, Maine.
