BREAKING--UNDEFEATED BEN GRADY STEPS IN AGAINST BRANDON MAILLET-FEVENS AT NEF 46

 [NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (December 10, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 46: Decade of Dominance,” on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. The leading regional promotion launched on February 11, 2012. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional lightweight bout to the fight card. Ben Grady (2-0) is scheduled to face Michigan’s Brandon Maillet-Fevens (3-2) at a fight weight of 155-pounds.

Back in November, it was originally announced that Maillet-Fevens would be moving up to lightweight to face The Academy’s Emmett Huber (2-1). This week, however, Huber was forced to withdraw from the February bout due to an injury. Soon after Huber removed himself from the card, Evolution Athletix’s Ben Grady (2-0) agreed to the fight against Maillet-Fevens.

“It was unfortunate that Emmett was injured, but I was relieved that there was another guy available to take the fight,” Maillet-Fevens stated. “The opponent may have changed, but the goal remains the same. I'm going to go out there and finish this fight. I’m going right at this guy and I'm chasing a stoppage right from the opening bell.”

Ben Grady made his MMA debut at “NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction” in February 2020. That night, Grady quickly dispatched of Maillet-Fevens’ Central Maine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (CMBJJ) teammate, Jon Assam (2-3), by TKO in 42-seconds. Last July, Grady traveled to Indiana and stopped his opponent by knockout in just eight-seconds. In both bouts combined, Grady has needed less than one-minute of cage time to become undefeated. Grady is trained by Nate Libby in Saco, Maine.

“I’m excited to compete against an experienced guy with a winning record,” Grady stated. “I will come forward and make February 12th my night.”

“NEF 46: Decade of Dominance” takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine.  The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. Doors open at 6 pm with first fight at 7 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at www.Ticketmaster.com.

New England Fights Kicks off Super Bowl Weekend with a Stacked Night of Fights.

NEF 32: Super Saturday

Travis Lizotte

With a mere 24 hours before the eyes of the world settle upon U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota for Super Bowl 52,  the eyes of New England MMA fans will settle, once again, upon the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine as New England Fights presents it’s first fight card of the 2018 calendar year; NEF 32. Much like the show that will take place in Minnesota on Sunday; NEF 32 comes packed with “Star Power” as New England Fights welcomes back perhaps the biggest star in the promotions history, former Lightweight Champion; Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-11). Boyington’s rise to star power took place across 13 fights in the NEF cage, including four title fights on his way to becoming one of the region’s most decorated Lightweights of all time. New England Fights fans thought they had seen the last of Boyington in the NEF cage when he took his talents to the national level in 2016 signing a multi-fight contract with the World Series of Fighting. However, after three fights (2-1) including two hard fought split-decision victories over Rodrigo Almeida (13-4) and Saul Almeida (19-9) and a single loss to one of the World’s Top- Featherweight Prospects in Andre “The Bull” Harrison (17-0), current Professional Fighters League (formally WSOF) Featherweight Champion, Boyington’s contract was no longer being honored by the promotion. Boyington’s journey back to New England kicked off in August, when he fought top New England Lightweight; Nate “The Snake” Andrews (12-1) at CES 45 in Lincoln, Rhode Island. After suffering a tough loss to Andrews, it became more evident to NEF fans that Boyington’s career could in fact come full circle, with a return to the Lewiston, Maine based promotion. NEF matchmaker Matt Peterson wasted little time snatching up their promotion’s biggest star when he signed fan-favorite; Boyington to make his long awaited return to the NEF cage against 2-time NEF veteran; Team Link’s Taylor Trahan (7-8).

BRANDON BUSHAW SET TO RETURN AUGUST 3RD AGAINST DEREK SHOREY

[NEF Press Release]

Rumford, Maine (July 22, 2013) – New England Fights (NEF) today announced that Westbrook, Maine native Brandon Bushaw (6-2) will make his highly anticipated return to the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion when he takes on Derek Shorey (2-7) at “NEF IX” at the Biddeford Ice Arena in Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, August 3rd.

“Brandon resides in South Carolina now, so we’re really grateful to him for stepping-up on short notice and taking this fight against an always-tough Derek Shorey,” stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo.

“Derek is better than his record indicates, plus Brandon is a natural bantamweight, so Derek will have a size and weight advantage in this scrap since it’s being contested at 145 pounds, stated NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. “Both fighters are former Maine State wrestling champions, so this match-up will be a great one to watch for fans of ground fighting.”

COFONE-KRAMER SET TO CLASH AT NEF IX AUGUST 3RD

[NEF Press Release]

Rumford, Maine (July 18, 2013) – New England Fights (NEF) today announced the addition of a catchweight super fight to the promotion’s upcoming event “NEF IX” to be held at the Biddeford Ice Arena in Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, August 3rd. On that night, Team Irish PTC’s and Alexey Cruz Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Black Belt Kris Kramer (2-0) will battle Balanced Ground MMA’s, and former Maine State Wrestling Champion, Dominic Cofone (3-1). Kramer, a natural featherweight fighter and Cofone, a lightweight, have compromised and agreed to meet in the middle at a catchweight of 150-pounds for this significant bout.

“This is the best possible matchup imaginable right now between two of Maine’s most talented and promising amateur fighters,” stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo.  “Dom Cofone has been on a tear since debuting back in February. His only loss was last month, a split-decision that happened out-of-state against Kirk Florian—younger brother of famous UFC veteran Kenny Florian—in a fight that many people, including myself, thought Dom won. Kris Kramer has put his elite-level Black Belt BJJ game to work in both of his wins by submitting his opponents in the first round. This fight puts an already stacked card over the top.”

New England Fights! Announces Fight Card for November 17 Event in Lewiston, Maine

Lewiston, Maine (October 25, 2012) – When New England Fights! (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine on November 17, 2012, it will present its fifth and final card of what has proven to be a banner year for the young fight promotion. Aptly titled "FIGHT NIGHT V," the event is currently scheduled to feature five pro fights and sixteen amateur fights.

"NEF has garnered a reputation for providing its fans with an unmatched quality of entertainment," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "When our fans buy a ticket and come to the Colisee they expect to be treated to several hours of knock-outs, submissions, and great fights. That is what we strive to put together for them, and we do it at very reasonable ticket prices."

NEF brass credits those affordable ticket prices coupled with quality fight cards as the catalysts behind four wildly successful events this year. The promotion is averaging around 3,000 fans per show, outperforming many local competitors by four to five times in terms of attendance. Yet achieving such prosperity has not come without its challenges.

Lewiston, Maine (August 13, 2012) – New England Fights (NEF) is proud to announce that its fight card for Fight Night IV on September 8 at The Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine will feature eight competitors from Team Irish.

“On the first three Fight Night cards in Maine, Team Irish was notably absent,” said NEF promoter and co-owner Nick DiSalvo. “Team Irish is not only one of the biggest teams in Maine, but it’s one of the biggest teams in the world of MMA. Matt (Peterson) and I are thrilled to have them as part of the NEF family now. Their presence is going to really shake things up in the ranks of NEF from here on out.”
