🚨BREAKING NEWS--🚨 MEDEIROS AND BUTERA SET FOR FLYWEIGHT CLASH AT NEF 47

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Auburn, Maine (April 19, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 47: The Battle of L/A” on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur flyweight bout to the card.  Josh Medeiros (1-1) will take on Joey Butera (1-1) at a fight weight of 125 pounds.

Josh Medeiros will make his NEF debut after his previous fight scheduled for “NEF 46” earlier this year fell out.  Medeiros has fought twice previously on cards in Massachusetts with one win and one loss both by unanimous decision.  Prior to competing in MMA, Medeiros won four state titles wrestling for Pelham High School in Pelham, New Hampshire.  He currently trains under NEF veteran Walter Smith Cotito (5-6) at Karasu Tengu Academy in Nashua, New Hampshire.

“You can count on me showing up on May 14th,” said Medeiros.  “Get ready for a show!”

Like his opponent, Joey Butera has two previous amateur MMA bouts that both went to the judges’ scorecards.  He lost the first by majority decision and won the second by unanimous decision.  Also like Medeiros, Butera had a fight fall out earlier this year.  He currently represents Driven Gym based in New Jersey.

“Josh is a good opponent for me,” noted Butera. “He seems like a tough and durable kid, but I have more tools in the toolbox than he does. The fans are in for a treat. I’m going to be very technical and throw some big shots in there and then go celebrate my birthday weekend.”

“NEF 47: The Battle of L/A” takes place on May 14, 2022, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine.  Tickets for the event are on sale now at www.NewEnglandFights.com/Tickets/.  The event will be the promotion’s first in Lewiston-Auburn since June 2019.

🚨BREAKING--🚨 CALEB AUSTIN TO FACE 4X CHAMPION WRESTLER MEDEIROS AT NEF 46 ON FEBRUARY 12

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (December 22, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 46: Decade of Dominance,” on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. The leading regional promotion launched on February 11, 2012. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the fight card. Former NEF Amateur Flyweight Title Challenger Caleb “Dr. Feelgood” Austin (5-1) is scheduled to face New Hampshire’s Josh Medeiros (0-1) at a fight weight 130-pounds.

Caleb Austin made his NEF debut at the age of 18 while still a high school senior in 2017. He put together a record of 208-11 wrestling for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine where he won two state titles at 126-pounds. He won the first four fights of his amateur MMA career via finish. Most recently, Austin sustained the first loss of his career when he was stopped by NEF Flyweight Champion Tyler “Butter Knife” Smythe (3-1) in the fourth round of their championship fight last November at “NEF 45: Uprising.” Austin currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston, Maine.

“On February 12th, I begin my journey back to capturing the NEF flyweight title,” Austin stated. “I’m convinced that I have the skills to be the top 125-pounder in the Northeast. Facing and overcoming adversity is part of the process in any worthwhile pursuit in life. I will be back in a big way at NEF’s 10-year event.”
