WNXFA IX 8/2/2014 TEASER

I am posting this a little earlier than usual as I will be busy moving the rest of the week but no worries as you all get as promised the Warrior Nation Teaser! Warrior Nation is back at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass this Saturday on August 2nd.  The card is what we all expect from Jesse Camp and that is a well matched top quality event.  There are 8 fights total in which one of them is a professional fight.  Also on the card is a last minute addition and good friend of mine Joe Leonard or as we like to call him at WesternMassMMA.com headquarters, The Artist!  Finally another special thing to note is on this fight card is WNXFA's very first female bout which will be sure to get the fans at the Hu Ke Lau roaring!  Tickets are still available at the link here starting at $60.  The doors will be opening at 5pm and the fights will be starting at approximately 6:30PM.  Let me break down the entire fight card for you all.

145lbs AM Curtis Watkins (CT United 1-1) vs. Joe Leonard (Ravenous 2-2)

At 145lbs Curtis Watkins takes on Joe Leonard.  Both fighters are no stranger to the Warrior Nation cage.  Curtis trains with CT United and has a 1-1 record. He lost his first fight to Zach Ordoyne by submission in which it was all tied up entering round 3 of that fight.  He then bounced back and won his second fight by submission against Noel Medina.  Curtis seemed to show good clinching and ground control in both of his fights.  His opponent Joe Leonard or better known as his fight name The Wild Ginger trains with Team Ravenous out of Greenfield Mass and has a 2-2 record.  Joe lost his first two fights but have quickly bounced back to 2-2 with with 1 by ko and the second win by submission.  This is his 4th time fighting for Warrior Nation and Joe will be sure to bring a crowd.  I think this will be a close battle and it will be a solid fight to start off the night to some awesome night of mma action.

130lbs AM Katlynn Szafarowicz (Strikezone 0-0) vs. Lina Soto (Wai Kru 0-0)

The second fight of the night is the first ever Warrior Nation female battle between Katlynn Szafarowicz and Lina Soto at 130 lbs.  Kat trains out of Strikezone and will be making her amateur debut.  Lina trains out of Wai Kru and will also be making her amateur debut.  I am excited about this fight because both of these fighters are from solid schools and both ladies will be looking to prove themselves and show that they belong in the cage!

135lbs AM Joe Albani (CT United BJJ 0-0) vs. Will Smith (DCNU 0-0)

Next up is Joe Albani facing off against Will Smith at 135lbs.  Joe is from CT United BJJ and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent Will is from DCNU and will also be making his amateur debut.  Hard to predict this fight as both fighters are fresh to the cage but they both should have a solid ground game.  I see this one being decided on the ground in a submission.

125lbs AM Matt Wheeler (Bushido/Metal Dog 0-0) vs. Nick Mancinone (FAA 2-2)

Matt Wheeler challenges Nick Mancinone at 125lbs in the Warrior Nation cage this Saturday.  Wheeler is making his amateur debut and trains out of Bushido/Metal Dog.  Nick is a local guy training out of Fighting Arts Academy located in Springfield and brings his 2-2 record.  Nick has two wins by submissions and one loss by submission and the other loss by decision.  Nick always steps up and fights tough fighters and I see him bouncing back nicely in this fight.

145lbs AM McLynn Cadiente (CT United 1-2) vs. Jose Salazar (BTT/ Wai Kru 1-0)

At 145lbs McLynn Cadiente takes on Jose Salazar.  McLynn is from CT United and has a 1-2 record.  This is his 4th time fighting for Warrior Nation and he is well known to the fans.  He won one of his fights by submission and lost two of them by decision.  His opponent Jose is from BTT/Wai Kru and has a 1-0 record.  He won a decision over Kendall Amadon by decision at a previous AFO show back in 2013.  I think this one will be close battle and I feel it is going to come down to a decision.  A very evenly matched fight.

170lbs AM Sam McCue (Bushido/ Metal Dog 0-0) vs. Connor Barry (Independent 2-1)

Then at 170 lbs Sam McCue squares off against Connor Barry.  Sam is from Bushido/Metal Dog and will be making his amateur debut.  If you are keeping track this is the second fighter from that school for the night.  His opponent, Connor is an independent fighter and has a 2-1 record.  Connor has 1 win by ko/tko and one win by submission.  He lost his last fight to Carlos Correia by decision and is looking to bounce back.  This is a good match up for him and I think will be an exciting fight.

HVY AM Ed Nook (CT United BJJ 1-0) vs. Dan Randall (FAA Spfld 1-0)

Now for the co main event between Ed Nook and Dan Randall.  This one is a heavyweight bout and will be sure to get the crowd's attention as these two behemoths square off.  Nook or as his fans like to call him the Nookie Monster brought a huge crowd the last time he fought against Ray Miclette in which he won by tko in Rd 1.  He is out of CT United BJJ and didn't even need to use his BJJ in the last fight, just his heavy hands.  His opponent Dan Randall fights out of FAA Springfield and is also 1-0.  Randall in his last fight knocked out a then 3-1 Kevin Smith out cold in just his first fight.  Do not blink in this fight fans as this one is sure to be a fight of the night contender!

155lbs PRO Matthew Kinberger (Link 6-3) vs. Jimmy Davidson (Sityodtong 6-0)

In the main event Matthew Kinberger takes on Jimmy Davidson at 155lbs in the professional division.  Kinberger fights out of Team Link NH and has a 6-3 record.  He has 3 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 2 by decision so far in his career.  He was out of the fight cage for a while but made his triumphant return at a Combat Zone in April and won by decision against a tough Mervin Rodriguez.  He dominated that fight and controlled the fight on the ground and was very close to finishing it a couple of times.  His opponent Jimmy Davidson fights out of Sityodtong and has a 6-0 record.  He has 3 wins by ko/tko and 3 wins by submission.  This fight right here is worth the price of admission fight fans and could very easily be a title fight on any card.  This is going to be a tough ground battle as both fighters are very versatile and slick on the ground.

There you have the entire breakdown of the upcoming show this Saturday at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass courtesy of Warrior Nation.  Special thanks to Jesse for hooking us up with the fight card so we can bring you this preview.  Make sure you get your tickets early and don't wait until the last minute because this is a smaller venue and will be sure to sell out.  Warchild and I will be there capturing all the action for you all.  If that isn't enough then come on down to see the beautiful Warrior Nation girls!
