CES MMA 36 6/10/2016 TEASER

CES returns this Friday with their 36th event and as usual it is going to be a big one.  It will be held at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln RI and it will also be live on AXS TV.  There are a total of 12 professional fights including many of the CES staple of fighters.  The news out of CES this week was that Luis Felix vs. Ryan Sanders title fight is no longer happening as Felix dropped out.  Now they moved the main event to Bessette vs. Soares and Sanders is now facing Levan Makashvili.  We will be there covering the event live so make sure you stay right here as we keep you up to date.  Let me break down the card in its entirety for you all.

185 PRO Kurtis Parisi (1-0) vs. Hector Sanchez  (2-13 Elite MMA)

The first fight is between Kurtis Parisi and Hector Sanchez.  Parisi is fighting out of Rhode Island and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his first pro win by tko to strikes.  His opponent is Hector Sanchez who trains with Elite MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 2-13 record with 2 wins by submission and one by ko/tko.  Out of his 13 losses, he lost them mostly by ko/tko and submission with all of them in the first round.  Not a good match up at all in my eyes as I see Parisi winning this one easily.

265 PRO Dan Randall (0-0 FAA) vs. Marquis Allen (0-0)

In the heavyweight division Dan Randall will make his pro debut against Marquis Allen.  Randall, a 4-0 amateur out of Fighting Arts Academy will be looking to continue his winning ways with a debut win this Friday.  His opponent, Marquis Allen is fighting out of Ohio and will also be making his pro debut.  From what I found online, he is also undefeated so this should be a good one folks.  I don't expect this one to go the distance with both of these heavy hitters.

145 PRO James Grant Murrin (3-4 Broadway Jiu Jitsu) vs Thomas English (5-6 Bellmore Kickboxing)

Next fight is between James Grant Murrin and Tom English at 145 lbs.  Murrin comes into this fight with a 3-4 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  For his losses, he lost all 4 by decision including one split decision.  His opponent is Tom English and he trains out of Bellmore Kickboxing.  He comes into this fight with a 5-6 record with 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost the majority of them by decisions.  Solid match up here as both of these guys love to fight and they fight until the end.

125 PRO Carlos Candelario (3-0 Underdog BJJ ) vs. Roosevelt Archie (0-1 Out of the Cage MMA)

Then at 125 lbs pro Carlos Candelario steps into the CES cage against Roosevelt Archie.  Carlos trains with Underdog BJJ and comes into this fight with a perfect 3-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 1 win by sub and 1 win by decision.  His opponent is Roosevelt Archie and he trains with Out of the Cage MMA.  Archie comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with  1 loss by submission.  As an amateur he was 6-7 with 3 wins by ko/tko.  I would have liked to see a tougher match up for Carlos as an undefeated 3-0 pro but for some reason it didn't happen.  I see Carlos winning this one by submission in Rd 1.

170 PRO Bobby Flynn (4-3 Pro-Elite ) vs. Kevin Horowitz (6-5 Maxum BJJ)

At 170 lbs Bobby Flynn will take on Kevin Horowitz this Friday.  Flynn trains with Pro Elite and comes into this fight with a 4-3 record with all 4 wins by submission.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  This is another solid fight for Bobby.  His opponent is Kevin Horowitz and he trans with Maxum BJJ.  Kevin comes into this fight with a 6-5 record with 2 wins by submission and 4 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 1 by decision.  Horowitz is a good wrestler and uses that to control his fights on the mat.  I think this is a great fight and should be a very entertaining one as I see it being a ground battle.

135 PRO Marquis Brewster (Triforce MMA 0-0) vs. Vladimir Kazbekov ( 1-1 Modern Vision MMA)

In another pro fight Marquis Brewster takes on Vladimir Kazbekov at 135 lbs.  Brewster will be making his pro debut after having an impressive 6-1 amateur career.  He trains out of Triforce MMA and will be prepared for anywhere this fight goes judging by his amateur career.  His opponent is Vladimir Kazbekov and he trains with Modern Vision MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by submission.  He is coming down from Canada and isn't traveling for a loss so you know he will be bringing it.  I see this fight being a no-holds barred fight and is very unpredictable which makes me excited for this one.

145 PRO Matt Tullos (Connor's MMA 1-0) vs. Merab Dvalishvili (2-2 Serra BJJ)

At 145 lbs Matt Tullos faces Merab Dvalishvili.  Tullos trains with Connor's MMA and has continued his win streak from being an amateur to a pro with a 1-0 fight record with a first round submission.  His opponent is Merab Dvalishvili and he trains out of Serra BJJ.  Merab comes into this fight with a 2-2 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he lost both by decision so we know he is tough to finish.  I see this one being a ground battle and I give the edge to Tullos.

155 PRO Lewis Corapi (Sityodtong 7-2) vs. Julian Lane (10-6-1 Elite Sports Academy)

Then at 155 lbs Lewis Corapi steps into the CES cage once again against another CES staple fighter Julian Lane.  Corapi trains out of Sityodtong and comes into this fight with a 7-2 record with 3 ko/tko, 1 sub and 3 wins by decision.  For his 2 losses, he lost 1 by decision and 1 by ko/tko.  In his last fight for CES his opponent injured himself in the back room right before he was supposed to walk out so needless to say Corapi is more than ready to put on a show for his fans.  His opponent is Julian Lane and he trains with Elite Sports Academy.  He comes into this fight with a 10-6 record with 1 ko/tko, 6 submissions and 3 by decisions.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko and 3 by way of decision.  This has fight of the night all over it and I see this one going the distance.

155 PRO Josh LaBerge (Lauzon 10-5) vs. Jonathan Lemke (5-3 Team Irish )

Next up is at 155 lbs Josh LaBerge against Jon Lemke.  Josh trains out of Lauzon MMA and comes into this fight with a 10-5 record with 4 wins by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 5 by decision.  For his losses, he has 4 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  He is a Bellator vet and loves to bring it every time for the CES fans.  His opponent is Jon Lemke and he fights out of Team Irish with a 5-3 record.  In the win column, he has 4 wins by ko/tko and 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he has 3 losses by submission.  This fight has fight of the night all over it as both fighters love to be in stand and bang battles.  I simply cannot hype up this fight enough.

155 PRO Ryan Sanders (Young's MMA 10-7) vs. Levan Makashvili (7-2-1 Mutant MMA)

At 155 lbs Ryan Sanders will be taking on Levan Makashvili.  Sanders trains out of Young's MMA in Maine and comes into this fight with a 10-7 record with 1 ko/tko, 8 subs and 1 decision so far in his pro career.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 5 by decision.  He is currently on a 3 fight win streak and he is going to give it his all to make sure he secures another W this Friday.  His opponent is Levan Makashvili and he trains out of Mutant MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 7-2-1 record with 3 ko/tko and 4 decision victories. In the loss column, he lost 2 by way of decisions so he has never been finished.  Levan has also fought for the UFC 2 times.  On one side, it sucks that Sanders is no longer fighting Felix for the CES title but CES did an excellent job at putting together a solid replacement in his place.  This should be another great battle on the night.

155 PRO Nate Andrews (NE Combat 8-1) vs. Luis Muro (4-1 )

The next fight is at 155 lbs and has Nate Andrews taking on Luis Muro.  Andrews trains with NE Combat and comes into this fight with an 8-1 record with 5 wins by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  His sole loss was by a decision to Gemiyale Adkins.  His opponent is Luis Muro and he comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 1 sub and 2 by decision.  His only loss came by way of a split decision.  This should be a fast paced fight.

145 PRO Matt Bessette (Underdog BJJ 18-7) vs. Jairo Soares (17-10 Dominio Jiu Jitsu)

In the main event Matt Bessette will face off against Jairo Soares at 145 lbs.  Bessette trains with Underdog BJJ and comes into this fight with an 18-7 record.  In the win column he has 5 wins by ko/tko, 6 sub and 7 by way of decision.  In the loss column he has 1 ko/kto, 1 sub, 4 decision and 1 by DQ.  His opponent is Jairo Soares and he trains out of Dominio Jiu Jitsu and comes into this fight with a 17-10 record.  In the win column, he has 2 by ko/tko, 8 by sub and 7 by way of decision.  For his losses, he has 3 by ko/tko and 7 by decision.  On paper their records are almost identical and they both finish fights!  This one is going to be a good one and of course we will all be rooting for our local star Matt Bessette!
