New England Fights returns with their 30th show and this time the show will be held in Bangor Maine.  This will be their second time returning as a promotion to the Cross Insurance Center and they have a total of 11 fights with 2 of them being title fights.  All of the fights on this show will be mixed martial arts both amateur and pro.  The doors will open at 6pm and the first fight is set to start sharply at 7pm.  Please follow along as break down each fight for you all.  Please keep in mind that this might not be the exact fight order.

135 AM Angela Young 2-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Jessica Borga 5-3 (Champions MMA)

In the first fight Angela Young will step into the cage to fight Jessica Borga at 135 lbs.  Young trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-2 record.  She has both wins by decision and her two losses are also by way of decision.  Her opponent is Jessica Borga and she trains with Champions MMA.  She has a 5-3 record and is coming up from Florida to fight.  In the win column, she has 2 ko/tko, 1 sub and 2 by decision.  For her losses, she lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 1 by decision.  This is going to be an exciting fight between two up and coming ladies.  I see this one going the distance in very close battle.

135 AM Nate Boucher 1-0 (CMBJJ) vs Jeremiah Barkac 0-0 (Independent)

Next up is Nate Boucher taking on Jeremiah Barkac in the 135 lb division.  Boucher trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  In his first fight he won by decision against James Dougherty.  His opponent is Jeremiah Barkac and he is an independent fighter.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Another close battle which should make for a solid fight.

145 AM Robbie Kiah 1-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Robert H. Norris III (Independent)

Then at 145 lbs Robbie Kiah will be taking on Robert Norris.  Kiah trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He got his first win by submission against Clifford Redman back at NEF 16 which was over 2 years ago.  He is anxious to get back into the NEF cage.  His opponent is Robert Norris and he is an independent fighter.  Norris will be making his amateur debut.  Kiah has the 1 fight experience and Norris will be looking to prove he belongs in the NEF cage.  I can't to see how this one unfolds.

160 AM Zachary Faulkner 0-0 (Titan Athletics) vs David Hart 0-0 (Kenney’s MMA)

At 160 lbs Zachary Faulkner will be facing off against David Hart.  Faulkner trains with Titan Athletics and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is David Hart and he trains out of Kenney's MMA.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Two new fighters, looking to make a name for themselves!

170 AM Anthony Lapointe 0-1 (Titan Athletics) vs Jesse Hutchinson 0-0 (CMBJJ)

Then at 170 lbs Anthony Lapointe will square off against Jesse Hutchinson.  Anthony trains with Titan Athletics and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He has 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes against Josh Hilton at a former CFX show.  His opponent is Jesse Hutchinson and he trains with CMBJJ.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Another close battle on paper which should be another great fight.

185 AM Josh Jones 2-0 (First Class MMA) vs Carlton Charles 0-0 (Charles Family Fighting/Fire&Iron Athletics)

Josh Jones is set to take on Carlton Charles at 185 lbs.  Jones trains with First Class MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  He has both of his wins by ko/tko to strikes in first round.  In his two fights so far, he has finished his opponents in 24 seconds total.  This includes during the last NEF the quickest NEF KO record of 4 seconds.  His opponent is Carlton Charles and he traisn with Charles Family Fighting.  Charles will be making his amateur debut this Saturday.  Jones has the 2 win advantage in this one so Charles will have his work cut out for him if he wants to win this one.

265 AM Roger Ewer 0-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Dustin Freeman 0-0 (Independent)

At 265 lbs Roger Ewer will face Dustin Freeman.  Ewer, the brother of NEF veteran CJ Ewer trains with Young's MMA and will be making his mma debut.  Also making his debut is his opponent Dustin Freeman.  Freeman is an independent fighter.  In the heavyweight division you know this one is going to be good!

135 AM TITLE Fred Lear 5-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Walt Shea 2-0 (First Class MMA)

The first title fight of the night is between Fred Lear and Walt Shea in the 135 lb division.  Lear trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 5-2 record.  In the win column, he has 3 wins by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost both of them by submission.  His opponent is Walt Shea and he trains with First Class MMA.  He comes into this fight with an undefeated record of 2-0 with both wins by way of decision.  I love this fight as both fighters are veterans in the NEF cage.  I see this one being a grueling back and forth battle and definitely has fight of the night written all over it.

145 PRO Aaron Lacey 4-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Bryan Goldsby 17-16 (Jorge Gurgel)

For the first pro fight of the night Aaron Lacey will be taking on Bryan Goldsby at 145 lbs.  Lacey trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a perfect 4-0 record.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Bryan Goldsby and he trains with Jorge Gurgel.  He comes into this fight with a 17-16 record with 10 wins by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 6 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 7 by submission and 7 by decision.  Goldsby is coming into enemy territory but he will be the veteran int he cage with this being his 34th fight.  Lacey will have the home crowd at his beckon call and he will be putting his undefeated record on the line in front of the NEF crowd.

170 PRO Ryan Sanders 14-8 (Young’s MMA) vs Jay Ellis 14-68 (Team Knockout)

Ryan Sanders returns once again to the NEF cage and this time it is against Jay Ellis in the 170 lb division.  Sanders trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 14-8 record.  Sanders has 2 wins by ko/tko, 9 submissions and 3 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 6 by decision.  His opponent is Jay Ellis and he trains with Team Knockout.  He comes into this fight with a 14-68 record with the majority of his wins by way of submission.  Ellis has yet to win in the New England area against our fighters and I don't see it happening in this fight.

185 PRO TITLE C.J. Ewer 2-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Mike Hansen 5-5 (Berserkers MMA)

The main event is between C.J.  Ewer and Mike Hansen at 185 lbs for the title.  Ewer trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  For both of his wins he won by ko/tko to strikes in Round 1.  His opponent is Mike Hansen and he trains with Berserkers MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 5-5 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 4 wins by submission.  For his losses, he lost 4 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  This is a great fight and I see it being a back and forth battle on the ground.  Ewer is moving up in his weight class to take this title fight so I am excited to see how he adjusts whereas Hansen will be right at home in this fight.

There you have the complete breakdown of the upcoming NEF 30.  Warchild and I plan on taking the 5 hour trip to cover the show for you all so stay tuned for our live play by play.  As you can see it is a shorter NEF card but is sure to have some exciting battles for the crowd.  Special thanks to NEF for always keeping us in the loop.  If you enjoyed reading this article please share it, thanks.
