NEF returns to Bangor Maine at the Cross Center for their 62nd fight to date. They have 11 fights on the card with a few dropping off last minute. 4 of the 11 battles will be professional ones and the rest are amateur. NEF is playing off of Star Wars May the 4th with their Stars of War poster and I for one love it being a huge star wars fan. The fight card will feature two NEF pro veterans on this card and I am referring to the battle between Bruce Boyington and Matt Denning. The national anthem has been sung so please follow along as I recap the night.

135 AM TITLE Jackson Campbell (Young's MMA) vs. Jordan Varney (Dawghouse)
Rd 1: Jackson gets the takedown and is working the guard. He passes to half guard and gets in a little ground and pound. Jordan works his way up and slams Jackson. He gets in a few punches and Jackson stands back up. They are in the center of the cage when the round ends.

Rd 2: They both exchange leg kicks and Jackson gets the double leg takedown. Jackson controls the round on top with some ground and pound and wins the round.

Rd 3: Jackson once again gets the quick takedown and controls the round on the mat. Jordan tries to work his way up and Jackson gets in some more shots to make him pay.

Rd 4: Campbell gets a takedown and is in the guard. He passes to full mount and is trying hard for the ref stoppage. He gets it....

New England Fights is back tonight this February 9th in Portland Maine for their 61st event to date. They have put together a 15 fight fight card including 2 of them that will be grappling. One thing that is also impressive to note is out of the 13 mma battles 8 of them are professional bouts. The crowd is getting antsy and the fights are about to begin.
