Jake "The Mule" Smith won two matches to take home a third place medal for Team Ravenous, Saturday May 29, 2010 at NAGA New England. The event was held in nearby Springfield Ma., at the Mass Mutual Center.
Jake competed in the flyweight (130-139lb) beginner division. This was a step up in competition, as last event he competed as a novice. In the 1st match, as Jake was pressuring his opponents leg to pass his guard, he (the opponent) was somehow injured, and was forced to tap. Jake made a costly mistake, early in his second match, and was forced to tap to a guillotine choke. However, in his 3rd match, Jake dominated from start to finish, winning by points, and received a third place medal! (video to come very soon!!)
