CAGE TITANS TEASER 11/5/2016

Cage Titans returns this Saturday November 5th at Plymouth Memorial Hall.  As I am starting this teaser on Monday, Cage Titans rumors are flying around that it is sold out.  It is not sold out yet but of course support the fighters and buy from them.  Don't expect them to be available at the door as Cage Titans has been known to sell out!   This is the second installment to the weekend of fights happening at Plymouth Memorial Hall with CES on Friday night and Cage Titans show on Saturday.  There are a total of 20 fights with 6 being professional.  The doors open at 5pm and the first fight is set to start at 6pm.  Please follow along as I break down the entire fight card for you all.

130 AM Jared York (0-1, TriForce) vs Joe Smith (1-1, Lauzon MMA)

In the first fight Jared York takes on Joe Smith at 130 lbs.  York trains with Triforce and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first fight by ko/tko against Tim Hagan in Rd 1.  He is still looking for his first win.  His opponent is Joe Smith and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 with 1 win by decision and 1 loss by submission.  This is a solid first fight as both of these guys are young up and comers looking to make a name for themselves.  Not to mention they are from solid schools which is a recipe for a great battle!

115 AM  Daniela Arceo (0-0, Florian BJJ) vs Tiffany McCoy (1-1, Santos BJJ)

The next fight is between Daniela Arceo and Tiffany McCoy at 115 lbs.  Daniela trains with Florian BJJ and she will be making his amateur debut.  Her opponent is Tiffany McCoy and she trains with Santos BJJ.  She comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by decision and 1 loss by ko/tko.  Everybody loves the female fights and one would think being from both BJJ schools that this one will be a ground battle.

145 AM Jon Paul (0-1, Gate City) vs Jonathan Azize (0-0, Team BST)

At 145 lbs Jon Paul takes on Jonathan Azize.  Paul trains with Gate City and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his fight fight by ko/tko to strikes at a previous Combat Zone in 2012.  His opponent is Jonathan Azize and he trains with Team BST.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Another close battle which should make for a good fight.

150 AM Osmany Rivera (0-0, BMAC) vs Mike DiNella (0-0, SSSF)

At 150 lbs Osmany Rivera will face off against Mike DiNella.  Osmany trains with BMAC and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Mike DiNella and he trains with SSSF.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Two new amateurs stepping into the cage for their first time.  This one should be a good one.

170 AM Lorenzo Fitzgerald (1-1, Gate City) vs Jon Ciampa (1-1, Connors)

At 170 lbs Lorenzo Fitzgerald will take on Jon Ciampa.  Lorenzo trains with Gate City and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has 1 win by ko/tko to strikes and 1 loss by decision.  He hasn't fought since 2010 so he is anxious to get back in the cage.  His opponent is Jon Ciampa and he trains with Connor's MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes.  Their records are identical which should make for a solid battle.

165 AM Trevor Gudde (1-0, Florian BJJ) vs Ross Dannar (0-0, Nostos)

At 165 lbs Trevor Gudde will square off against Ross Dannar.  Gudde trains with Florian BJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first fight by ko/tko at Cage Titans 28.  His opponent is Ross Dannar and he trains with Nostos in NH.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I see this one being a ground battle.

155 AM Stavros Batsinelas (1-0, Redline) vs Zach Disabatino (1-0, SSSF)

Next up is at 155 lbs Stavros Batsinelas takes on Zach Disabatino.  Stavros trains with Redline MMA and enters this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first amateur fight by submission in Rd 1 at a previous CFX show.  His opponent is Zach Disabatino and he trains with SSSF.  He also comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko.  Both fighters have the same undefeated record and they are 2 excellent schools.

145 AM Diego Lopes (0-0, Team Link/Juniko) vs Moises Soto (0-0, Team BST)

Diego Lopes takes on Moises Soto at 145 lbs amateur this Saturday.  Lopes trains with Team Link/Juniko and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Moises Soto and he trains with Team BST.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  I love when it is their first fight because you know nothing about either fighter and what to expect.  Who knows, one of them could become the next best fighter out of New England.

170 AM Jonny Rodriguez (0-0, Regiment Training) vs Marty Navis (0-1, Lauzon MMA)

At 170 lbs Johnny Rodriguez takes on Marty Navis.  Jonny trains with Regiment Training and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Marty Navis and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  Marty comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by decision.  Navis has had it tough as in his first fight they went through the cage door and then lost a decision.  He is hoping that 3rd time is the charm and he pick up his first ammy W.  Of course, Jonny Rodriguez has other plans!

115 AM Anastasia Bruce (0-4, Redd MMA) vs Danielle Hindley (1-1, SSSF)

Next up is Anastasia Bruce challenging Danielle Hindley at 115 lbs amateur.  Bruce trains with Redd MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-4 record.  For her losses, she lost 2 by ko/tko and 2 by decision.  Her opponent is Danielle Hindley and she trains with SSSF.  Danielle comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by decision.  Hindley is a nasty grappler and Bruce has never been finished on the ground.  I will keep that part in mind as I watch both of these fighters go at it this Saturday.

110 AM Alison Blackwell (0-0, TriForce) vs Adina Beaudry (1-0, Nostos)

At a catchweight of 110 lbs Alison Blackwell will take on Adina Beaudry.  Blackwell trains with Triforce and will be making her amateur debut.  Her opponent is Adina Beaudry and she trains with Nostos MMA.  Adina comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with a huge win over Danielle Hindley by decision.  I missed that first fight by Adina so I am looking forward to this one as I see it being a fight of the night contender.

155 AM Jimmy Bruce (2-1, Blackhole BJJ) vs Ed Forlenza (2-0, Juniko)

Then at 155 lbs Jimmy Bruce will square off against Ed Forlenza.  Bruce trains with Blackhole BJJ and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  I wasn't able to find his complete record but he has 1 win by decision and 1 loss by submission.  His opponent is Ed Forlenza and he trains with Juniko.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  I see this one being a ground battle.

155 AM Austin Schalla (1-5, Dexter MMA) vs Collin Donnelly (0-0, SSSF)

At 155 lbs Austin Schalla will fight Collin Donnelly.  Schalla trains with Dexter MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-5 record.  He has 1 win by submission and lost 5 by way of decision.  His opponent is Collin Donnelly and he trains with SSSF.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Good fight as Schalla has struggled but is always exciting to watch and Donnelly will be making his debut.

145 AM TITLE Bryan Rossi (Sityodtong 4-2) vs. John Douma (Triforce 3-2)

At 145 lbs Bryan Rossi takes on John Douma for the amateur title.  Rossi trains with Sityodtong and comes into this fight with a 4-2 record with 3 wins by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by decision at the beginning of his amateur career and since then has put together 4 straight wins and he is looking for the fifth.  His opponent is John Douma and he trains with Triforce MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 3-2 record with 1 win by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  This fight is worthy of a title shot and both of these guys love putting on a show.  I see this one being a stand up battle.

125 AM TITLE Josh Meehan (3-0 Juniko) vs. William Graustuck (2-0 UFC Gym)

At 125 lbs Josh Meehan takes on William Graustuck for the amateur title.  Meehan trains with Juniko and comes into this fight with a 3-0 record.  He finished all 3 of his fights with 1 by ko/tko to strikes and 2 by way of submission.  He would love another finish to bring the strap home with him.  His opponent is William Graustuck and he trains with UFC Gym.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record both of his wins by submission.  As you can see, both fighters finish fights and they are both undefeated.  They are laying it all out on the line this Saturday and not only does one of them keep their undefeated record but they also get the coveted Cage Titans amateur belt.

160 PRO Don Shainis (Redline 0-1) vs. Wayne Ahlquist (2-3 Top Game)

In the first pro fight Don Shainis takes on Wayne Ahlquist at a catch weight of 160 lbs.  Don trains with Redline and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first pro fight by ko/tko with an injury against Jeremy Davis which is very unusual to Shainis as he never lost an amateur fight.  Well he has been training hard and is back to get that pro W.  His opponent is Wayne Ahlquist and he trains with Top Game.  Wayne comes into this fight with a 2-3 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by split decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  Another solid battle for Cage Titans as Shainis is looking for his first pro win and Wayne, the veteran in the pro league looking to gain himself another win to pull to an even record.  I see this one being a ground battle.

150 PRO Ryan Dibartolomeo (Team Link 0-0) vs. Jimmy Manning (0-0 SSSF)

Next up is a 150 lb fight between Ryan DiBartolomeo and Jimmy Manning.  Ryan is training with Team Link and will be making his pro debut.  As an amateur he went 5-4 and was the Combat Zone and Cage Titans amateur champ.  He is looking to continue his winning ways in the pro division.  His opponent is Jimmy Manning and he trains with SSSF.  He will also be making his pro debut with a 5-2 amateur record.  This is a fantastic pro debut fight and I see this one going the distance to a decision.  May the best fighter win!

115 PRO Ronni Nanney (2-6 Sullivan's) vs. Sarah Click (0-1 Juniko)

At 115 lbs Ronni Nanney will square off against Sarah Click in a female pro showdown.  Nanney trains with Sullivan's MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-6 record with 1 sub and 1 decision win.  For her losses, she lost them all by way of decision.  She is very active fighter as this will be her 7th fight this year.  Let's all give her a nice warm welcome to New England.  Her opponent is Sarah Click and she trains with Juniko.  She comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by decision in her Invicta debut.  Tough to pick this one as I don't know Ronni very well but I see Click winning this one by ko/tko to strikes in Rd 2.

165 PRO Keegan Hornstra (Nostos 3-9) vs. Joe Giannetti (SSSF 1-0)

Next up is at 165 lbs Keegan Hornstra takes on Joe Giannetti.  Keegan trains with Nostos MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-9 record.  For his wins, he has 1 win by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, 4 by ko/tko and 5 by way of submission.  His opponent is Joe Giannetti and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by submission.  Keegan is fresh off a win and is looking to continue that streak while Joe is looking to continue his own streak and that is never lose!  I don't see this one lasting long with both of these guys in the cage.

155 PRO Steve McCabe (7-18 302BJJ/System X) vs. Scott Gorgone (3-1 Mass BJJ)

In the main event Steve McCabe will take on Scott Gorgone at 155 lbs.  Steve trains with 302BJJ/System X and comes into this fight with a 7-18 fight.  Steve has won 5 fights by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko and 15 by submission.  His opponent is Scott Gorgone and he trains with Mass BJJ.  He comes into this fight with a 3-1 record with all 3 wins by submission.  His sole loss came by submission to Manny Bermudez.  In this fight McCabe has the experience and Gorgone has the better ground game.  If this fight goes to the ground I see Scott working a quick submission.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading our preview for the upcoming Cage Titans card.  The Boss and I will be making the trip east to cover the show for you all.  I hope to see you all there as this will be the last Cage Titans event of the year.
