New England Fights returns with their 37th installment with another action packed night of mixed martial arts.  They have put together a 11 match show with 2 of them being professional bouts.  One of the professional bouts is a title fight and then there will also be an amateur title fight on the night.  The show will be taking place at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.  The doors will be opening up at 7pm and the first fight will be taking place at 8pm.  Now in case you didn't figure it out yet, this show will be taking place on a Friday and not a Saturday like NEF normally is.  This is sure to be an exciting night of fights and an excellent way to kick off Superbowl weekend!  Let me break down the fight card for you.

145 AM Rob Kiah 1-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Joe Howard 1-1 (CMBJJ)

The first fight is between Rob Kiah and Joe Howard at 145 lbs. Kiah trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win by rear naked choke. His opponent is Joe Howard and he trains with CMBJJ. He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by submission. Both of these fighters are from two excellent schools up in Maine and they both have similar records. I see this one being a close ground battle.

135 AM Jordan Young 1-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Clifford Redman 0-7 (Independent)
Then at 135 lbs Jordan Young will be taking on Clifford Redman. Young trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-2 record. He has 1 win by rear naked choke and for his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 1 by decision. His opponent is Clifford Redman and he is an independent fighter. He comes into this fight with an 0-7 record with majority of the losses in the first round. He is still hungry for his first win. I see this one being a quick battle and ending in the first round.

135 AM Nate Boucher 3-3 (CMBJJ) vs Dillon Henry 0-0 (First Class MMA)
Then at 135 lbs Nate Boucher will be squaring off against Dillon Henry. Boucher trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 3-3 record with 2 wins by submission and 1 by decision. For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko to strikes and 2 by decision. His opponent is Dillon Henry and he trains with First Class MMA. He will be making his amateur debut. This one will definitely be a ground battle.

Next up is at 125 lbs Glory Watson will face off against Rachael Lippert. Watson trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by split decision. She is looking to keep her perfect record intact. Her opponent is Rachael Lippert and trains with Fearless MMA. She comes into this fight with a 4-2 record with all 4 wins by way of decision. For her losses, she lost 1 by submission and 1 by decision. This is going to be a back and forth battle and I see it going the distance.

265 AM Roger Ewer 1-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Bryce Bamford 2-0 (First Class MMA)

In the heavyweight division Roger Ewer will be taking on Bryce Bamford. Ewer trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record. He has his 1 win by ko/tko to strikes in Round 2. He would love another ko/tko finish this Friday night. His opponent is Bryce Bamford and he trains with First Class MMA. He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins by ko/tko in the first round. This one is going to be stand up war and I definitely don't see it going all 3 rounds.

130 AM Brady Macdonald 1-1 (Pictou County Jiu-Jitsu) vs Jake Bagley 0-0 (Nostos)
Then at a catchweight of 130 lbs Brady Macdonald will be taking on Jake Bagley. Brady trains with Pictou County Jiu-Jitsu. He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and his one loss by submission. His opponent is Jake Bagley and he trains with Nostos. He will be making his amateur debut. Macdonald has the 2 fight experience in this battle but being from Nostos I am sure Bagley will be more than ready.

145 AM Catie Denning 1-1 (Young’s MMA) vs Amanda Bennett 0-0 (First Class MMA)
At 145 lbs Catie Denning will be squaring off with Amanda Bennett. Denning trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record. For her fights, she won 1 fight by unanimous decision and lost 1 fight by unanimous decision. Her opponent is Amanda Bennett and she trains with First Class MMA. She will be making her amateur debut. I see this one being another back and forth battle and I see it going the distance.

Then at 155 lbs Taylor Bartlett will be taking on Devin Corson. Bartlett trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 1 loss by submission and 1 draw. His opponent is Devin Corson and he trains with The Outlet. He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by decision and his 1 loss by submission. Their records are identical so this should be a good battle.

145 AM TITLE Fred Lear 6-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Zac Richard 3-0 (Nostos)

At 145 lbs Fred Lear will be squaring off against Zac Richard for the amateur title. Lear trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 6-2 record. In the win column, he has 4 by ko/tko, 1 by guillotine and 1 by decision. His only two losses came by submission. His opponent is Zac Richard trains with Nostos MMA. Zac comes into this fight with a 3-0 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission. This fight is going be a back and forth war and gets my vote for fight of the night contender.

180 PRO CJ Ewer 3-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Mark Gardner 0-0 (The Academy)
In the first pro fight of the night CJ Ewer will be taking on Mark Gardner. Ewer trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-2 record. For his wins, he won 1 by ko/tko to strikes and 2 by way of submission. For his losses, he lost both by ways of submission. His opponent is Mark Gardner and he trains out of The Academy. He will be making his pro debut and as an amateur he had a perfect record of 3-0. As an amateur he had 1 win by ko/tko and 2 by submission. As you can see they are both very similar in the way that they win so I think they match up nicely. I see this one definitely being a ground battle.

145 PRO TITLE Josh Harvey 5-0-1 (Young’s MMA) vs Bill Jones 13-11 (Nostos)

In the main event Josh Harvey will be taking on Bill Jones for the coveted 145 NEF title. Harvey trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 5-0-1 record. For his wins, he has 2 by ko/tko and 3 by submission. His opponent is Bill Jones and he trains with Nostos. He comes into this fight with a record of 13-11 with wins all over the board. He has fought for years and is a seasoned veteran. He is riding high on his win over Matt Denning and is looking to get another win and also take home a nice shiny strap. This fight is going to be a ground battle for sure and with a title on the line you know they are both gonna bring it!
