NEF 39 'ALL AMERICAN' FULL PREVIEW

New England Fights is amped up and ready to return this Saturday June 22nd, 2019.  They will be returning to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee and this will be their 39th event to date.  The first fight will start at 7pm sharp!  This will be a mixed martial arts event with amateur and professional fights.  On the card they have a total of 16 fights in which 3 of them are professional ones.  Two out of the 3 pro fights will be title fights and there are also 2 amateur title fights!  If that isn't enough to get you off your seat then don't forget the NEF ring girls will be there.  If you haven't gotten your tickets yet then click the link here and get yours before they sell out. Let me break down the entire fight card for you all.



145 AM Brandon Maillet-Fevens ( 1-1 CMBJJ) vs. Cody Kilton (0-0 First Class MMA)

At 145 lbs Brandon Maillet-Fevens will be taking on Cody Kilton for the first fight of the night.  Brandon trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has his 1 win by submission and his sole loss by submission.  His opponent is Cody Kilton and he trains with First Class MMA.  Cody will be making his amateur debut.  Brandon has the 2 fight experience coming in but I know Cody will be more than ready training with First Class MMA.  I see this one being a ground battle.

185 AM Henry Jeffs (0-0 Independent) vs. Greg Ishihara (0-1 Recon)

At 185 lbs Henry Jeffs will be squaring off against Greg Ishihara.  Henry is an independent fighter and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Greg Ishihara and he trains with Recon.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first bout by ko/tko to strikes in Round 2 at NEF 38.  Both fighters are just starting out in their amateur career and are both looking to get their first taste of victory so you know they are gonna bring it.  I see this one being a stand up battle.

175 AM Brandon Russell (0-2 Independent) vs. David Hart (0-4 Kenney's MMA)

Next up is at 175 lbs Brandon Russell will be facing David Hart.  Russell is an independent fighter and comes into this fight with an 0-2 record.  For his losses, he lost both of them by ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is David Hart and he trains with Kenney's MMA.  He comes into this fight with an 0-4 record with 2 losses by ko/tko and 2 by way of submission.  Both of these fighters are looking to get their first W of their amateur career and as the saying goes, someone's O must go!  I see this one being a stand up battle.

175 AM Jon Assam (0-1 CMBJJ) vs. Justin Philbrook (0-1 Independent)

Then at 175 lbs Jon Assam will be taking on Justin Philbrook.  Assam trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first fight by split decision.  His opponent is Justin Philbrook and he is an independent fighter.  He also comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first fight by ko/tko to strikes in Round 2 at the last NEF.  Both of these fighters are looking for their first Win and they are gonna bring it.  I see this one being another stand up battle.

170 AM Dylan Williams (0-0 Independent) vs. Mike Murray (0-0 Independent)

At 170 lbs Dylan Williams is set to square off against Mike Murray.  Williams is an independent fighter who will be making his amateur debut.  Also making his amateur debut is his opponent Mike Murray.  He is also an independent fighter.  I like this matchup because I can't recall the time when I have seen two independent fighters go head to head!

155 AM Nate White (1-0 CMBJJ) vs. Justin Kangas (0-0 First Class MMA)

Then at 155 lbs Nate White will be taking on Justin Kangas.  Nate trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win by injury over Clifford Redman.  His opponent is Justin Kangas and he trains with First Class MMA.  He will be making his amateur debut.  This is another closely matched fight and we will have to see where it goes!

170 AM Jason Landry (1-0 Team Landry) vs. Dan Seigars (0-0 Independent)

At 170 lbs Jason Landry is set to square off against Dan Seigars.  Landry trains with Team Landry and comes into this battle with a 1-0 record.  He won his first battle by rear naked choke against Justin Boraczek.  His opponent is Dan Seigars and he is an independent fighter.  I see this one being a ground battle.

135 AM Megan Rosado (1-1 Evolution Athletix) vs. Sarai Knapp (0-0 Lee Brothers MMA)

Next up is at 135 lbs Megan Rosado will be taking on Sarai Knapp.  Megan trains with Evolution Athletix and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  She lost her first fight by split decision and won her second fight by split decision.  Her opponent is Sarai Knapp and she trains with Lee Brothers MMA.  She will be making her amateur debut.  I see this one being a close battle and coming down to a decision.

155 AM Joe Howard (1-2 CMBJJ) vs. Jordan Crim (0-0 United Fighting Arts Institute)

At 155 lbs Joe Howard will be facing off against Jordan Crim.  Howard trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1 win by submission and 2 losses by submission.  His opponent is Jordan Crim and he trains with United Fighting Arts Institute.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I see this one being a ground battle.

155 AM Jimmy Jackson (3-3 Young's MMA) vs. Brandon Sewall (0-0 Independent)

Then at 155 lbs Jimmy Jackson will be taking on Brandon Sewall.  Jimmy trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-3 record with 2 wins by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko to strikes and 2 by submission.  He has not fought since 2016 and he is anxious to get back in there.  His opponent is Brandon Sewall and he is an independent fighter.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I see this one being settled on the ground.

155 AM Garry Carr (1-1 CMBJJ) vs. Clifford Redman (0-9 Independent)

At 155 lbs Garry Carr will be facing off against Clifford Redman.  Carr trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He won his first fight by submission and then lost his last bout by doctor stoppage due to a cut.  His opponent is Clifford Redman and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-9 record with 5 losses by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  He is still looking for his first win.  I see this fight being a 1 round battle.

125 AM TITLE: Glory Watson (4-0 Young's MMA) vs. Caree Hill (4-1 Team Quest)

For the 125 lb NEF title Glory Watson will be taking on Caree Hill.  Glory trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a record of 4-0 with 2 wins by submission and 2 by decision.  Her opponent is Caree Hill and she trains with Team Quest.  She comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 2 wins by submission and 2 by decision.  Her only loss came by submission back in 2017.  This fight has fight of the night written all over it.  I see it being a back and forth battle and I feel it will go the distance.

125 AM TITLE: Nate Boucher (4-3 CMBJJ) vs. Robert Presley (5-4 10th Planet/Lancaster Academy)

Next up is a title fight in the 125 lb division amateur between Nate Boucher and Robert Presley.  Nate is from CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a record of 4-3.  In the win column, he has 3 by submission and 1 by way of decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko to strikes and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Robert Presley and he trains with 10th Planet/Lancaster.  He comes into this fight with a 5-4 record with 1 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by submission and 2 by decision.  Once again this fight has fight of the night written all over it.  I see this one being a ground battle for sure and it very well could go the distance.  Now onto the pro fights!

160 PRO  Keegan Hornstra (4-10 Evolution Athletix) vs. Dominic Jones (1-1 First Class MMA)

In the first pro fight Keegan Hornstra will be taking on Dominic Jones at 160 lbs.  Keegan trains with Evolution Athletix and comes into this fight with a record of 4-10.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 4 by ko/tko and 6 by submission.  His opponent is Dominic Jones and he trains with First Class MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and his 1 loss by submission.  I see this one being a ground battle.

155 PRO TITLE: Jesse Erickson (9-7 CMBJJ) vs. Dylan Lockard (5-1 PMAA)

Then at 155 lbs Jesse Erickson and Dylan Lockard will go head to head for the NEF title.  Erickson trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a record of  9-7 with 2 by ko/tko and 7 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 5 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His opponent is Dylan Lockard and he trains with PMAA.  He comes into this fight with a record of 5-1 with 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  His one loss came by a decision to Shane Manley.  This fight is definitely going to be a ground battle and I love both of these fighters.  I want to commend them for taking tough fights and this fight is no exception.  This fight is definitely going to be a war.

145 PRO TITLE: Josh Harvey (c) (6-0-1 Vision Quest Muay Thai) vs. Jordan Downey (5-4 Lee Brothers MMA)

In the main event Josh Harvey will be taking on Jordan Downey.  Harvey trains with Vision Quest Muay Thai and comes into this fight with a 6-0-1 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  He has never lost as a professional and he has 1 draw in a war against Joe Giannetti.  His opponent is Jordan Downey and he trains with Lee Brothers MMA.  He comes into this fight with a record of 5-4.  In the win column, he has 3 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost all 4 by decision.  This is going to be another big war and I do not see this one going the distance.  Grab your popcorn for this battle.
