Last night, the WCF weigh-ins took place, at the venue in Willmington. As usual, a lot of guys showed up late, and some didn't even make it by the time we left. The fighters all looked to be in great shape, and ready to put on a show.
Team Ravenous fighter, Jose "Samurai" Lopez was right on the 155lb mark as always, and his opponent Damien "The Omen" Trites came in at the allotted 156. Both guys were intense, and looked all business. They were both very well muscled, and stood around the same height. No doubt, this could be (as many have already said) fight of the night!!
A few of the show downs had a few extra sparks. As 145lb fighters Chris Grandmaison, and his opponent Anthony Leone squared off for pictures, a little contact ensued. Grandmaison got right in Leone's face, touching his nose to his cheek. Leone didn't like it, and shoved Grandmaison. The promoter had to get between the two, as a few words were exchanged. This could be a great one!!
Another showdown between Nuri Shakir, and Mike Dolce also provided a bit of heat. I believe when Nuri didn't quite make weight, and needed to cut a bit more , Dolce made a comment that Nuri didn't quite like. Not sure exactly what was said, but i think Nuri offered to break Dolce's jaw for him right then and there. This will be another one to watch, as these guys will have more than just a win on their minds.
All in all, this could be the best card ever assembled. Check in later for results from all the fights!!
