This event is their first event and it is set to take place on March 31st, 2012 in Salem, NH. Tickets are on sale and start at $25!! This is the cheapest I have seen for mma event in a while and this card is a great one. Brian Bradbury has done a great job keeping me up to date with it all and we appreciate it. This card is set with 14 fights and features Dan Lauzon, Matt Sung Lee and Marcus Davis. Yes, that Marcus Davis. Half of the fights are pro fights and should be a great night. There is even a female fight on the card! For Western Mass fighters we have RudeBoy Barrington Douse and Leon Davis on the card. This is only a 2 hour drive from Western Mass so lets all go and cheer him on!! The main event is a huge one between Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade vs Matt Sung Lee. Davis has a record of 20-9 and has fought for the UFC for about 5 years. He is a well rounded fighter with 7 KO's, 8 subs and 5 decisions in his resume. His last fight was a loss to Chuck O'Neil which was a split decision loss back in October. It left a bad taste in his mouth and he is ready to prove himself once again. Matt comes into this fight with a 14-10 record. In his career he has 5 KO and 1 sub as well as 8 decision victories. Matt has fought for Bellator twice in his career. Both fighters are late in their career and are going to prove to all their fans that they aren't done yet!!
Next fight is Dan "The Upgrade" Lauzon against Don Carlo-Clauss. Dan comes into this fight with an outstanding 16-4 record. In Western Mass we were all treated his last fight at the Premier FC 7 at Umass, Amherst where he defeated Anthony Kaponis in the first round via tko to punches. He has 9 KO, 7 submissions and no decisions. To put it bluntly, Dan knows how to finish fights! Dan has also fought in the UFC before. His opponent, Don comes into this fight with an 8-6 record. He fights out of Team Bombsquad and 3 KO and 4 decision victories. Don has fought for Strikeforce in his career. Both fighters have the knockout power and this one might just not make it out of the first round!
Then we have Cody Lightfoot against Mike Stewart. Cody trains with The Shop and has a record of 6-2. He has 4 KO,1 sub and 1 decision victory. His last fight was for CES against Greg Rebello and it got stopped in the second round due to a cut at the top of Cody's head. He has been training hard and ready to put on a show. Mike Stewart has a record of 6-3. He has 2KO and 4 sub victories in his career. His last fight was for CES in February and defeated Greg Rebello via kimura early in round 3. Both fighters have great wrestling skills and this should be a great ground battle. Cody loves to bleed so this fight might not be for the squeamish, right Cody??
Next we have Joe Cloutier against Roger Zapata. Joe trains out of Doomsday MMA and has an amateur record of 5-2. He has 3 sub, 1 ko and 1 decision victory. His last fight was in September 2011 for AFO where he defeated Chris Virgil-Stone and this his is pro debut. Roger went pro back in June of 2011 and suffered a loss against Mike Wade at the CFFC 9 which was a decision loss. I can't wait to see Joe make his pro debut since I have seen many of his fights in his amateur career for AFO.
Next we have Western Mass native Leon Davis against Desmond Green. Leon trains with Fighting Arts Academy and has a professional record of 1-0. His professional win was a spectacular KO at Warrior Nation back in July of 2011 against Chris Robinson. His last fight was cancelled for Warrior Nation and he is anxious to get back in the cage for everyone. His opponent Desmond is making his pro debut and is looking to prove himself in the cage for us all to see!
Eric Sommers is set to fight Nicc Kossivas. Eric is currently 0-1 and his last loss was a tko ref stoppage in rd 2 against Jason Ward back for Reality Fighting back in October. He is hungry for his first professional win and won't take NO for an answer. Nicc fights out of Doomsday MMA and is making his pro debut. His amateur career appears to be 1-3 with a submission win over Tunde Odumosu back at AFO in September of 2011. This fight is gonna be a good one and one way or another one of these fighters will be walking away with their first career pro win!!
The last pro fight of the evening is against Franklin Isabel and Barrington Douse. Franklin fights for Wai Kru and has a pro record of 3-5. He has three submission wins in his pro career and his last fight was for AFO back in July where he suffered a decision loss to Sam Elliot. Barrington is from Springfield, MA and has a record of 8-13. He is a very exciting fighter and loves to stand and swing. He is known to take fights on short notice and helps the promoters not have to cancel their big fights. His last loss came at Cage Titans where he stepped in once again on short notice to fight Jimmy Davidson. He has 3 KO, 3 submission and 2 decision victories to his career so he is very well rounded in all aspects of the game. This is going to be an awesome fight. Barrington is often very unorthodox in his striking and always puts on a show for the fans. Franklin might want to take this fight to the ground and test Barrington's skills that way.
