From the Big Screen to the Cage: Rory Markham will Battle Brad Johnson in an MMA bout June 16th at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA
IFL vet, Rory Markham, whose taken on roles in movies alongside Paul Walker, Bruce Willis and Forrest Whittaker will return to the cage June 16th for a mixed martial arts bout at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield MA. Markham, whose been acting since the age of 18, has taken on roles in movies such as, The Death and Life of Bobby Z, The Experiment and most recently the 2011 thriller, Setup, alongside Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, Ryan Phillippe and Randy Couture.
Markham will be taking on Michigan’s Brad Johnson in Battle Xtreme Championship’s middleweight (185lb) class matchup at the “Battle Xtreme Championship: The Rise” event. Other main events of the night include Brazilian and American Top Team fighter Rafael “The Law” Dias vs. Ran Weathers as well as Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann vs. Anita Rodriguez. “This is an outstanding 9 fight card,” said Fernando Rivera, Battle Xtreme Championship president, “almost every fight on the card could be a main event fight.
Tickets to this event are on sale now at Ticket Master, and the event is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 16th. Doors open at 6 p.m. A public weigh-in is set for 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday at the Mass Mutual Center and an after party celebration will follow.
