Brennan Ward Signs Multi-fight Contract With Bellator

Brennan "The Irish Bad Boy" Ward has just inked a six fight deal with Bellator.  The contract is for 6 fights with a time span of two years.  I spoke with his manager Jay Jodoin from BadAss Incorporated and he shared the story with me.  Brennan and his manager were approached right after his stellar Bellator first round finish and the details were quickly hashed out.  Jay tells me the plan is to get him a few fights before he is entered into the 185lb tournament which starts in June.  The plan right now is to have Brennan fight for Bellator in mid February.  This is a huge deal because Bellator is going to be on Spike TV starting in 2013 which will definitely grow Ward's name.  I asked Ward his thoughts and he said he is "grateful for the opportunity!"

Brennan has quickly became a household name that leaves everyone with their jaw dropped after every one of his fights.  He now has a record of 5-0 professionally and only one of his fights has gone to decision.  He is a wrestler at heart but really can take the fight anywhere. In fact all four of his finishes were first round ko/tko stoppages.  He has fought 3 times for CES MMA and won his sole decision over a very tough Harley Beekman from Bombsquad.  He then fought on the CES MMA card against Shederick Goodridge where he won via knockout.  Then Bellator called him and he fought on the undercard on Bellator 81 in November.  He fought Sam McCoy and won once again in the first round via knockout.  Bellator and everyone else watching was impressed and immediately started talks for multi-fight deal.

Brennan cross trains with multiple schools.  He trains his boxing with Whaling City Boxing in New London Connecticut which is his dad's gym.  He then cross trains at Tim Burrill's BJJ and at Triforce MMA.  He then also trains at Jorge Rivera MMA's gym.  I asked him if his training will change with this big contract and he told me "I will never stop doing what I do, I train as hard as I can and I intend to train harder."  No surprise there Brennan, the hard work shows every fight.  I then asked him what can we all can expect when we see him enter the Bellator cage in February and he told me "goal is a world title, Bellator can expect the Irish Bad Boy's A Game!"  I don't know about you all but I can't wait for Bellator in February.  I would like to thank Brennan and Jay for getting back to me so quickly.  If you haven't please subscribe to his fan page located here and also BadAss Incorporated page here.
