NEF Fight Night VII 5/18/2013 Review

We arrived right at 4pm and quickly found our seats.  The show is packed with NEF fans and the fights are about to start.  I will add more to this intro later as the night goes on.  I see Occupy the Cage and Kill Their Will banners inside the cage.  NEF has a new ring girl Audra and she looks to be getting the hang of it all real quickly.  No ring girl bloopers this time folks.  Kevin the Ref, Jimmy Bickford and John English are the refs for the evening.  John Vena is our host with the most and even was nice to share his fries. I arrived too late and unfortunately was not able to visit the apparel guys to see their new designs so I apologize folks.  I didn't see too many local celebs and that was because they all were fighting!  I saw John Raio, Frosty, Old School, John Fain, Matt Douglas, NEF celebrity Kristina Sprague and Mr. and Mrs. GWM!

Awards:

Fight of the Night: Dez Green against Henry Martinez.  What a battle and ended not how I was expecting.  There were really many great fights to choose from.
Submission of the Night:  Jarod Lawton triangle over Cody Anderson.  Definitely could have been FOTN.
KO of the Night:  Ramone Saintvil defeats Mike Secord.  I am sure Mike is a little foggy on this but he actually stood up and walked to the center all wobbly and finally the doctor ran in to check him.
Blunder of the Night:  Everything went real smooth and honestly nothing really stands out to be a blunder.

Rereading through my review I realized something.  Wow.  There were so many fights and so many moments to talk about.  There are times when I have a hard time trying to think which one was SUB or KO of the night.  The night was about 7 hours of fights and they went fairly quickly with 30 total.  If I was going to be honest I have to say 30 is too many but really it isn't up to me.  It is up to NEF and the NEF fans to decide.  I do know that NEF listens to their fans in so many ways and they are always looking for ways to better their shows and provide the best experience.  I noticed when the packed arena was pitch dark, I saw NEF lights circling around.  I have never seen those lights at a promotion before.  I don't think there was a single fan leaving the Colisee not happy with what they saw.  We all got to witness Marcus Davis in his hometown get the victory and was a very hard fought fight.  Darrius did very well in that fight and held his own.  He had no marks/blemishes on his face and could go 2 more rounds if he needed.  I would like to thank NEF and all the fighters for putting on the show and allowing us to watch/write and capture the action.  It was one of the best shows I have been to.
