Premier Fighting Championship invades a new venue in Western Mass this Saturday September 20th, 2014. The show will be held in Worcester Mass at the Palladium. The doors will be opening at 6pm and fights should start around 7pm. On the card they have 16 fights total in which 7 of them are professional ones. Also on the card are two female bouts which is a rarity with the local shows. Jason Franklin has returned to Premier FC to help with the matchmaking and the PFC team has done an excellent job on the card. Tickets are still available so make sure to get your tickets. WesternMassMMA.com will be in attendance covering the show for everyone so make sure to say Hi to us. Also PFC is streaming the event with GFL.tv at the link here for $14.99 for HD video with 3 camera angles. The commentary will be done by Sityodtong's Tyson Chartier and Lewis Corapi. Let me break down the card for you all..
135 AM Chris Suarez (1-6 Team United) vs. Rob Rios (1-3 Underdog BJJ)
The first match up of the evening is between Chris Suarez and Rob Rios at 135lbs. Chris is from Team United and comes into this fight with a 1-6 record. He lost two fights by submission, 2 by ko/tko and one by decision. He got his one win by ko/tko over Brian Squardrille. His opponent, Rob Rios is from Underdog BJJ and has a 1-3 record. Rob has his one victory by ko/tko at the very first Premier FC back in 2010. Since then he has lost two decisions and one by submission. This is going to be a good battle to start of what should be a great night of mma action.
155 AM Davon Zimmerman (RGFT 0-0) vs. Concepcion Marquez (1-0 Independent)
For the second fight of the night Davon Zimmerman takes on Concepcion Marquez at 155lbs. Davon trains out of RGFT and will be making his amateur debut. Davon is from a solid school so he will be ready for a battle. His opponent Concepcion is an independent fighter and has a 1-0 record. He won a decision in his first fight against Robert Rubino at the last Premier FC show. He looked very good in his amateur debut and will be looking to continue his win streak this Saturday.
145 AM Vinnie Brightman (Thunder 0-2) vs. Shawn O'Dou (Ravenous 1-0-1)
Then at 145lbs Vinnie Brightman challenges Shawn O'Dou. Vinnie trains with Team Thunder and has an 0-2 record. He lost one fight by submission and one fight by decision. His opponent Shawn fights out of Team Ravenous in Greenfield Mass and has a 1-0-1 record. He won his first fight by ko/tko to strikes in Rd 1. In his second fight it resulted in a draw against Nick Valentino at a previous Warrior Nation. This is a good fight for both guys and I see this one being a stand up battle at first and then being finished on the ground.
125 AM Dan Krall (Battlecrew MMA 1-2) vs. Justin Valentin (Underdog BJJ 0-0)
Dan Krall challenges Justin Valentin at 125lb. Krall trains with Battlecrew MMA and has a 1-2 record. He has one win by submission and for his losses he has one loss by ko/tko and one by decision. He has fought some tough opponents in his ammy career and is always game to fight anybody. His opponent is Justin Valentin who trains with Underdog BJJ. He will be making his amateur debut. Being from Underdog, I know he will be battle ready. This is going to be a solid scrap for sure.
170 AM Angelo Richardson ( Speed School MMA 1-1) vs. TJ Holt (Independent 0-2)
At 170lbs Angelo Richardson takes on TJ Holt. Angelo is from Speed School MMA and has a 1-1 record. He fought at PFC 15 against Ray Johns and won by submission in Rd 1. I was not able to find out his loss but maybe the record is wrong. His opponent TJ Holt has an 0-2 record. He lost one by ko/tko to strikes and the second loss was a submission to strikes. He has been training hard with Ralph Johnson and he is anxious to show off his skills in the cage once again.
125 AM Sarah Click (2-0 CCFA) vs. Sarah Payant (Gladiator BJJ 4-5)
In a huge female showdown Sarah Click will be fighting Sarah Payant at 125lbs. This fight was supposed to happen at the last PFC but Payant got hurt and now it is on at PFC 17! Click trains with CCFA and has a 2-0 record. She has one win by ko/tko and the second by decision. PFC fans will remember her last fight against Lisa Blaine in which they had a war and Click showed excellent muay thai during that fight. Payant trains with Gladiator BJJ and has a 4-5 record. She has two wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 1 by decision for her wins. For her losses 4 of them are by sub and one by decision. Payant has the most amateur fights by any female I have seen which is amazing since there aren't that many female fighters out there right now. This is going to be a stand up war and you all don't want to miss it!
170 AM Ray Johns (Thunder 0-5) vs. Andres Pedraza (RCI 0-0)
Next up at 170lbs Ray Johns takes on Andres Pedraza. Ray is from Team Thunder and comes into this fight with an 0-5 record. He lost 4 by submission and one by decision. He is still hungry for his first taste of victory. His opponent is Andres Pedraza and he trains with RCI. He will be making his amateur debut. Johns has the 5 fight experience in this one so we will have to see if that plays a factor.
170 AM Brian Corvese (Team United 0-0) vs. Barry Liseno (DPG 0-2)
Then at 170lbs Brian Corvese takes on Barry Liseno. Corvese trains with Team United and will be making his amateur debut. Being from Team United he will be well rounded and have some good muay thai. His opponent Barry took this fight on literally 48 hours notice. He comes into this fight with an 0-2 record. He lost his first fight by submission and his second fight by decision. He is ready for action and is hungry for his first taste of victory.
145 AM Donnie Francis (Gemini MMA 0-0) vs. Justin Brangiero (DCNU 0-1)
At 145lbs Donnie Francis challenges Justin Brangiero. Francis trains with Gemini MMA and will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Justin Brangiero and he fights out of DCNU. He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record. He lost his first fight by decision back in 2008 against Michael Pestana if I found the correct fighter that is. This is just another close match up that is on the PFC card for the night.
170 PRO Frank Falso (TUML 0-1) vs. Asa Zorn (Wolf Pac 0-4)
At 170lbs Frank Falso takes on Asa Zorn. After months of Asa calling out Frank, finally one promotion took a chance and this fight is going to happen. Frank trains out of TUML and has an 0-1 record. He lost his first pro fight by ko/tko to Keegan Hornstra. His opponent Asa has an 0-4 record and trains with Wolf Pac. He lost all 4 of his fights by ko/tko. As the saying goes someones 0 has got to go! Both these guys will be going hard to get their first pro victory. I certainly don't see this fight going the distance but it is going to be lots of fun to watch.
120 PRO Dan Cormier (Triforce 3-4) vs. Jordi Gallart (Link 0-0)
Then at 120lbs Dan Cormier takes on Jordi Gallart. Cormier is from Triforce and has a 3-4 record. Dan has 1 win by ko/tko and 2 wins by decision. For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 2 by sub and 1 by decision. He always trains hard and is anxious to get back in the cage. He is a very entertaining fighter to watch in action. His opponent Jordi Gallart is fighting from Team Link and will be making his pro debut.
130 PRO Yeison Berdugo (TUML 0-1) vs. Todd Sweeney (Battlecrew MMA 1-6)
Next up is Yeison Berdugo against Todd Sweeney at 130lbs. Yeison fights out of Team United Muay Lao and is their muay thai instructor. He made his pro debut against Jeremy Reipold at the last PFC and lost by ko/tko to punches. He is ready to get back in the cage and bring home that W. His opponent Sweeney is from Battlecrew MMA and has a 1-6 record. He has his one win by decision. For his losses he lost 3 by ko/tko and 3 by submission. I feel this is going to be a good stand up battle and should be real entertaining for the fans.
155 PRO Andrew Chirico (Renzo Gracie 0-0) vs. Addison O'Neil (DCNU 1-2)
Then in a 155lb pro match up Andrew Chirico challenges Addison O'Neil. Andrew trains out of Renzo Gracie and will be making his pro debut. He had an awesome amateur career with 7-0 record. He won the majority of his fights by submission which is no surprise being from a Gracie school. His opponent is Addison O'Neil and he fights out of DCNU. He comes into this fight with a 1-2 record. He lost his pro debut to Taylor Trahan by submission. He then won with a nasty sub over Steve Karr. In his 3rd pro fight he lost a decision to Charles Lee at a Reality Fighting show. I predict this fight is going to be settled on the ground and both guys are very well versed so it should be a great one.
175 PRO Ralph Johnson (Independent 8-12) vs. TJ Sumler (Victory 3-5)
At 175lbs Ralph Johnson takes on TJ Sumler. Ralph is an independent fighter and comes into this fight with a 8-12 record. Ralph is the tallest fighter you will see and he uses his height his advantage. He had most of his wins by ko/tko and usually started off with a vicious knees from the clinch. His ground game is where he lost the majority of his fights but he has been training hard to plug that hole. His opponent TJ trains with Victory and has a 3-5 record. He has two wins by tko/ko and 1 by submission. He lost 4 fights by decision and 1 by ko/tko. I don't see this fight going to a decision and I predict with will be an awesome stand up war.
140 PRO Jessy Miele (IMBCT 0-1) vs. Cassie Crisano (ATT 2-2)
In a huge female bout Jessy Miele takes on Cassie Crisano at 140lbs. Jessy trains with IMBCT and has an 0-1 record. She lost her pro debut to Andria Wawro at Reality Fighting by ko/tko early in Rd 1. She has an excellent ground game and will be looking to use that to her advantage. Her opponent Cassie is from ATT and comes into this fight with a 2-2 record. One of her losses was a decision loss to Andria Wawro and the other one was a DQ. Her two wins came by submission so she is very good on the ground as well. This is going to be an awesome female battle that could easily be seen on Invicta FC anytime. Fortunately for us we get to watch it local courtesy of PFC!
195 PRO Dirlei Broenstrup (9-3 Team Link) vs. Shedrick Goodridge (All Star Gracie 6-7)
In the main event Dirlei Broenstrup takes on Shedrick Goodridge at 195lbs. Dirlei fights out of Team Link and has a 9-3 record. He has 5 wins by ko/tko, 3 by sub and 1 by decision. Local fans will remember his fight against Walter Howard at a previous Reality Fighting. He also fought against Cody Lightfoot and won by ko/tko at a previous Combat Zone. His opponent Shedrick trains with All Star Gracie and has a 6-7 record. He has 3 submission, 1, ko/tko and 1 decision victory so far in his career. He has wins over Todd Chattelle and Brett Oteri. He has won 3 out of his 4 fights and will be looking to continue his winning ways. This is going to be a big battle and it is worthy of a main event.
