TOE 2 TOE: RISE 2 THE TOP 12/13/2014 TEASER

Toe 2 Toe Fights is invading the Portland Expo in Portland Maine this Saturday December 13.  This will be their first show and they are starting their promotion with a solid card.  There are a total of 11 fights in which 5 of them are professional fights.  Their show will be streamed live on the link here and Marcus Davis and Lee Goldberg will be commentating.  Tickets are available online here until 12/12 and of course also at the door.  The doors will be opening at 5pm and the first fight is scheduled to start around 6pm.  Warchild and I will be making the trip north to cover the show for you all and we hope to see you all there.  Let me break down the card in its entirety.  Keep in mind this will not be the final fight order.

140 AM Abram Marr (0-0 The Academy) vs Dan Ward (0-2 Spero MMA)

At 140lbs Abram Marr is set to face off against Dan Ward.  Marr trains out of the Academy up in Maine and will be making his amateur debut.  I have seen many fighters from the Academy and they do an excellent job at getting their fighters ready for battle.  His opponent is Dan Ward and he is fighting out of Spero's MMA in NH.  Ward comes into this fight with an 0-2 record and is still hungry for his first taste of victory.  He lost one fight by decision and the other by submission.  He was originally scheduled to fight Joshua Greenlaw but since then it has been changed.  This is a great fight to kick off the evening of mixed martial arts.

170 AM Duncan Smith (0-1 BGMMA) vs Chris Kevlin (0-0 LRVT)

At 170 lbs Duncan Smith takes on Chris Kevlin.  Duncan will be making his second appearance in the cage out of Balanced Ground MMA.  He lost his first bout at Combat Zone against Nick Alley by submission in rd 2.  Now that he has the first fight jitters out of the way he is pumped to bring home the W.  His opponent is Chris Kevlin and he will be making his amateur debut.  He trains out of Lake Region Valley Tudo and he is anxious to show off how hard he has been training.  As you can see here is another close battle for Toe 2 Toe and the fights just continue getting better throughout the night.

125 AM Carl Langston (3-6 BGMMA) vs Nick Spencer (6-4 Choi's MMA)

Next up at 125lbs Carl Langston challenges Nick Spencer in the cage.  Langston comes into this fight with a 3-6 record and trains out of BGMMA.  Carl lost 2 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 3 by decision.  Carl won 1 fight by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 1 by decision so far in his career.  Oddly enough, he has yet to win in the state of Maine and this will be his 6th attempt.  His opponent is Nick Spencer and he comes into this fight with a 6-4 record.  Nick has 5 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  For his losses he lost 2 by sub and 2 by decision.  Both of these fighters are always prepared to have a good battle and I think it will be an exciting one to watch for the fans.  I think this battle will be a stand up battle and is going to be a real treat for the fans.

155 AM John Lough (0-0 Team Irish) vs Tony Forstner (0-1 Independent)

Next up is John Lough taking on Tony Forstner at 155lbs amateur.  John will be fighting out of Team Irish who has a ton of people on the fight card.  This will be Lough's first test in the cage and being from Team Irish I know he will be ready for anything.  His opponent is Tony Forstner who is an independent fighter with an 0-1 record. Tony lost his only amateur fight to Jake Smith by tko stoppage in Rd 2.  This should make for another solid match up for Toe 2 Toe.

170 AM Adam Nielsen (2-0 Team Irish) vs John Frances (0-1 LRVT)

Adam Nielsen is ready to battle Jon Francis in the cage at 170 lbs.  Nielsen fights out of Team Irish and has a 2-0 record.  He has won one of his fights by ko/tko and one by submission so far in his ammy career.  His opponent is John Frances and he is fighting out of Lake Region Valley Tudo.  Frances is coming into this fight with a 0-1 record which is one loss to Dom Cofone by submission.  I think this fight is going to be a ground battle and I give the slight edge to Nielsen.

170 AM Andrew Tripp (7-1 Team Irish) vs Albert Tulley (6-8 Team Tully)

In the last amateur fight of the night Andrew Tripp takes on Albert Tulley at 170lbs.  Tripp comes in with an outstanding record of 7-1.  He fights out of Team Irish and has 5 wins by submission.  His only loss came by submission to Jeff Hsu at a previous CFX show.  His opponent is Albert Tulley and he comes into this fight with a 6-8 record.  He fights out of Team Tully which is in New York.  He has 4 wins by submission, 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 2 by decision.  I see this fight being a ground battle and if Tripp wins this battle it may very well be his last fight before turning pro.  You don't want to miss this one!

155 PRO Wayne Harnois (3-14 Brute Force MMA) Vs. George Nassar (0-0 Redline MMA)

For the first pro fight of the night Wayne Harnois takes on George Nassar at 155lbs.  Harnois trains out of Brute Force MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-14 record.  He won his 3 fights by submission and his losses are by 6 ko/tko, 6 by sub and 2 by decision.  He will be looking to use his experience to get the W this Saturday.  His opponent is George Nassar and he trains with Redline MMA.  He will be making his pro debut and as an amateur had a 3-3 record.  He normally fights at 135lbs but keeps having fights being cancelled and he told me he just wants to get back in the cage and fight!  He won one fight by split and 2 by submission as an amateur.  For his losses he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 1 by decision.  I feel this fight is going to be a ground battle and I suspect it will be ending by submission!

170 PRO Tollison Lewis (0-3 BGMMA) vs Ralph Johnson (8-13 FAF Gym)

At 170lbs Tollison Lewis squares off against Ralph Johnson.  Tollison was originally supposed to fight Keegan Hornstra but Keegan had to drop out due to injury.  Tollison trains with Balanced Ground MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-3 record.  He lost all 3 of his professional fights by submission.  As an amateur he went 4-9 with 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 wins by submission.  Ralph Johnson stepped up to take this fight about 2 weeks ago and is always ready for a battle.  He comes into this fight with a record of 8-13 and trains out of FAF Gym.  Ralph has all 8 of his wins by ko/tko.  He uses his tall figure to get solid knees in from the clinch and is always deadly at any time.  Lewis will have to try to get this fight to ground as quickly as possible and try to work the submission and Johnson will look to keep this fight standing and work his heavy hands and knees.

130 PRO Tommy Balzano (1-3 Team Irish) vs Lloyd Reyes (0-2 Academix Academy)

At a catch weight of 130 lbs Tommy Balzano takes on Lloyd Reyes.  Balzano fights out of Team Irish and comes into this fight with a 1-3 record.  He won his sole win by submission against Jimmy Alexander.  For his losses he lost 1 by decision and 2 by way of submission.  His opponent is Lloyd Reyes and he is fighting out of Academix Academy.  He comes into this fight with an 0-2 record.  He lost one fight by decision and one fight by ko/tko.  Both fighters are looking to turn their pro careers around and will be fighting hard for the W.  Who will come out victorious?? We will all find out Saturday night.

145 PRO Jon Lemke (4-2 Team Irish) vs Bill Jones (11-8 Team Kaos)

Jon Lemke challenges the veteran Bill Jones at 145lbs.  Lemke fights out of Team Irish and has a 4-2 record.  He has 3 wins by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  His two losses came by submission and he always takes tough fights.  This one is no exception as Bill Jones has an 11-8 record coming into this fight.  He has 3 wins by ko/tko, 5 by submission and 2 by decision.  The other win was by DQ against Tateki Matsuda.  For his losses he lost 2 by ko/tko 4 by submission and 2 by decision.  Jones is a grinder who likes to control his opponents on the ground and wear them down.  Lemke will want to keep this fight standing and wear down Jones by stuffing his takedowns and working his jabs.  Fight of the night caliber fight right here.

170 PRO Ryan Sanders (7-6 Young's MMA) vs Avery McPhatter (3-6 Gracie Brandon)

In the main event Ryan Sanders takes on Avery McPhatter at 170lbs.  Sanders trains out of Young's MMA and has a 7-6 record.  Sanders has 6 wins by submission and one by ko/tko over UFC veteran Marcus Davis.  For his losses he lost 4 by decision and 2 by way of submission.  He will be bringing a huge crowd to this fight so get ready fight fans, its gonna be loud.  His opponent is Avery McPhatter and he fights out of Gracie Brandon.  He has 2 wins by submission and 1 by decision so far in his pro career.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 2 by decision.  I feel this fight is going to be a ground battle and both fighters will be digging deep for the sub.

There you have the full write up of the Toe 2 Toe card.  Even as I have been writing this up during the week there has been fight changes each day so hopefully it stays intact.  Toe 2 Toe has done an excellent job at posting the fight card to their facebook fanpage which was a huge help to me and for the fans to see how hard they have been working behind the scenes.  All in all it looks like this will be a solid show and I am anxious to see some awesome fights this weekend.   This will be the second last show of the year besides Titans FC that is happening next Friday in Lowell Mass.
