We arrived with plenty of time to get some grub at the mall across the street. I convinced Warchild to check out the new Apple Watch that launched today. We made our way to the venue and there were many fight fans all ready for Combat Zone 53 for a total of 12 fights. We just got word that Pete San Antonio/Franklin Isabel fight is scratched due to Isabel having to go to the hospital. Hope you feel better soon man. The announcer for the evening is John Vena. The judges are Shawn Flanagan, Mike Walls and Alan Lau. The refs for the evening are Kevin MacDonald and John English. The national anthem was sung by Julie Fisher. Great job. Now keep in mind that some of the fights tonight are kickboxing which I have clearly labelled below and they are 3 two minute rounds. The ring girls are looking hot in their new outfits. James gets in a front kick to start us off. Chris gets in an outside leg kick. Both fighters get in their kicks.

Rd 2: James throws a head kick that just brushes the top of the head. Chris backs James up with a combo. James gets in another head kick. James gets in a knee to the body and Chris counters. James gets in another knee to the body and Chris makes him pay with a combo.

Hannah goes for a takedown and Lis amakes her pay with some strikes. Hannah connects with a punch that has Lisa stepping back but she gets right back up. Hannah gets the takedown and moves to full mount. She bucks her off and they roll and Hannah makes her pay with some strikes. Hannah tries for an armbar but can't get it. They are back to their feet and swinging away. Hannah seems to get the better of the striking.

Dylan gets the takedown and sinks a rear naked choke. They fall to the mat and Dylan puts on a nice armbar. Gunner gets in a kick. Dylan goes for a takedown and gets it. Dylan gets another takedown. Gunner has a nice exchange and wins the exchange. Dylan gets in a kick that sends Gunner to the mat as the round ends. This is an exhibition so they both are winners.
180 PRO MMA Tim Caron (1-0) Burgess MMA vs. Shawn Summey (2-1) Dragon's Lair
Caron comes out to Mulan's I Will Make A Man Out of You haha. Tim starts us off with a leg kick. Shawn connects with a punch to the body. Caron gets in a snapping leg kick. Shawn connects with a left. Caron gets in some knees from the clinch and Shawn counters with an uppercut to the body. Tim is looking for the guillotine and after a few adjustments gets the tap.

It was another solid night of fights at Combat Zone. The fighters came out and fought hard and I think the kickboxing was a great success. The fights were all fast action and kept the crowd in at all times. Combat Zone is looking to do another show in July and I am hearing on a potential Saturday show.
