SOUKHAMTHATH, NORDBY COLLIDE FOR THE TITLE AT #CES33

[CES Press Release by Ed Kapp]

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. — When Andre Soukhamthath and Kody Nordby face off for the #CESMMA World Bantamweight Championship on March 11 at Twin River Casino, there's a lot more than the title at stake.

Both are alums of Woonsocket High School, both turned pro around the same time, and both knew they were destined to collide in the cage.

Broadcast LIVE on AXS TV FIGHTS at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, #CES33 is the time to put up or shut up, as the fast-rising pugilists agree!

Soukhamthath, now training with the famed Blackzilians in South Florida, earned a title shot by racking up many impressive wins in the CES MMA cage. Nordby, meanwhile, has recently staked his claim as one of the East Coast’s most dangerous bantamweights with three notable first-round finishes under the CES MMA banner. While both fighters agree that the scorecards won’t be necessary, both confidently disagree on who will be leaving Twin River Casino with the CES MMA World Bantamweight Championship.

“I will put him in his place when the cage door locks” stated Soukhamthath, who makes his 12th trip into the CES cage. “He just talks so much (expletive). He’s been talking (expletive) about me since he turned pro. He’s talented, but he just talks way too much. I won’t say too much to feed into it. But I’m really excited this fight is happening, and I’m excited to beat that (expletive). Kody isn’t on my level at all. He won’t be able to do the things that he’s done to his other opponents. I’m going to get this win, and there’s nothing he can do about it. I’ve earned this title and it’s going to feel great to have it wrapped around my waist.”

“It’s definitely been a long time coming,” countered Nordby, who has been lobbying to fight Soukhamthath, the heavy fan-favorite, since they turned pro. “I thought it would be a good fight back then. He will soon find out that I have only gotten better and more dangerous with every outing. He has a big name, and I’m excited to put it on my resume. This is the biggest fight of my career. I’m not letting anyone dictate what’s going to happen except me. This fight will end with the title belt around my waist.”
