CAGE TITANS 35 TEASER 8/12/17

Cage Titans is ready to host their 35th event this Saturday in Plymouth Memorial Hall.  They have a packed 20 fight fight card with 2 of them being amateur title fights.  8 of them will be professional fights and 12 of them will be amateur which will be an awesome night of mixed martial arts action.  The card is of course filled with the Cage Titan regulars as one would expect.  The doors will be opening at 5pm and the first fight is set to start at 6pm.  Please follow along as I break down each fight in its entirety.  Please keep in mind that some of these fights might drop off or the order might change.

145 AM Kenny Champion (2-2, Golden Falcon) vs Antoine Caparotta (3-2, SSSF)

First fight of the night is in the 145 lb division and it is between Kenny Champion and Antoine Caparotta.  Kenny trains with Golden Falcon and comes into this fight with a 2-2 record.
In the win column he won both of his fights by ko/tko to strikes and for his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  His opponent is Antoine Caparotta and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 3-2 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.   I see this one being a back and forth battle and should be a great way to kick off the night.

145 AM Stavros Batsinelas (1-1, Redline) vs Blaine Waterman (0-1, NEC)

Then at 145 lbs Stavros Batsinelas will take on Blaine Waterman.  Stavros trains with Redline and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has 1 win by submission and in his last fight he lost by ko/tko to strikes against Zach DiSabatino.  His opponent is Blaine Waterman and he trains with New England Combat.  He comes into this fight with a record of 0-1 with with one loss by decision to Jimmy Manning.  On paper, this is another close battle.  I see this one being a ground battle.

170 AM Ryan Dunn (0-2, Independent) vs Rondel Clark (1-0, Integrated Martial Arts)

At 170 lbs Ryan Dunn will be facing Rondel Clark.  Dunn is an independent fighter and comes into this fight with an 0-2 record.  He lost 1 fight by ko/tko and 1 loss by decision.  This will be his 3rd fight for Cage Titans and he is still hungry for his first win.  His opponent is Rondel Clark and he trains with Integrated Martial Arts.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko in a very quick finish for Combat Zone.  He would love another quick KO like that again.  This fight I see being a very quick battle and I would be surprised if it makes it to Round 2 with both of these guys in the cage.

205 AM Ron Marshall (1-5, Nostos) vs Jideofor Ojukwu (0-0, Boston Combat)

In the next fight Ron Marshall will be squaring off against Jodeofor Ojukwu at 205 lbs.  Marshall trains with Nostos MMA in NH and has a record of 1-5.  Ron won his sole win by decision and for his losses, 1 by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  His opponent is Jideofor Ojukwu and he trains with Boston Combat.  Jideofor will be making his amateur debut.  Marshall will be looking to use his fight experience to his advantage to win this fight.

130 AM John Lessard (2-2, Redline) vs Carlos Vespaziano (1-1, Juniko)

At 130 lbs John Lessard will be taking on Carlos Vespaziano.  Lessard trains out of Redline MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-2 record with both wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  His opponent is Carlos Vespaziano and he trains with Juniko.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by decision and 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes.  This is going to be an awesome battle as both fighters are at an even .500 and both are very fast paced fighters who love to put on a show.

150 AM Rich Szeligowski (0-1, Forge Martial Arts) vs Pat Gilbride (0-0, Lauzon MMA)

Next up is at 150 lbs Rich Szeligowski will be facing off against Pat Gilbride.  Rich trains with Forge Martial Arts and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first fight by ko/tko in just 6 seconds.  He is returning looking to get that coveted first W.  His opponent is Pat Gilbride and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Once again, another close matched battle which should be another good one!

205 AM Rob Knight (0-0, Independent) vs Brian Harrington (0-0, SSSF)

Then Rob Knight will take on Brian Harrington at 205 lbs.  Knight is an independent fighter and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Brian Harrington and he trains with SSSF.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Get ready Cage Titan fans because this fight both fighters are both new so who knows what to expect!

125 AM Nick Amendola (1-0, Golden Falcon) vs Mitch Raposo (1-0, Regiment)

At 125 lbs Nick Amendola will be squaring off against Mitch Raposo.  Nick trains with Golden Falcon and steps into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first fight by ko/tko in Round 3 at a previous Cage Titans event.  His opponent is Mitch Raposo and he trains with Regiment.  He also comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  Mitch won his first fight by decision at the last Ammo event.  Both fighters record are identical and they are from good schools.  I expect this fight to be a fast paced fight right off the bat when these two 125ers lock horns.

120 AM Taylor Thompson (0-0, Team BST) vs Stephanie McTighe (0-0, Sityodtong)

In the first female bout of the night Taylor Thompson will take on Stephanie McTighe at 120 lbs.  Taylor trains with Team BST and will be making her amateur debut.  Her opponent is Stephanie McTighe and she trains with Sityodtong.  She will also be making her amateur debut.  Everybody loves the female fights and one lucky lady will get her first amateur win!

155 AM Quentin Harris (1-1, Independent) vs Chris O’Brien (2-0, SSSF)

At 155 lbs Quentin Harris will be be taking on Chris O'Brien.  Harris is an independent fighter who comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has 1 win by submission and lost 1 fight by ko/tko to strikes.  This will be his 3rd time fighting for Cage Titans.  His opponent is Chris O'Brien and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a record of 2-0 with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by submission.  Another close record here but I give the edge to Chris O'Brien in this one.

HVY AM TITLE Rob Brown (Santos) 2-1 vs. Jeff Soivilien (SSSF) 4-3

In the heavy weight showdown between Rob Brown and Jeff Soivilien they go head to head for the coveted Cage Titans Amateur title.  Brown trains with Team Santos and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  His only loss came by a decision at a previous CFX event.  His opponent is Jeff Soivilien and he trains out of SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 4-3 record with 2 ko/tko, 1 decision and 1 that is missing on tapology.  For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  Both of these guys are going to be fighting hard and swinging away and because it is a title fight I hardly doubt it is going to go the distance!

170 AM TITLE Angelo Richardson (Golden Falcon) 2-2 vs. Bobby Gasdia (SSSF) 4-1

In the last amateur title fight of the night Angelo Richardson will be facing off against Bobby Gasdia.  Angelo trains with Golden Falcon and steps into this fight with a 2-2 record.  In the win column, he has both wins by submission and both of his losses are by decision.  His opponent is Bobby Gasdia and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 2 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 1 decision.  His only loss came by a ko/tko to Sean Bettencourt.  Now this is a rematch in which Bobby won the wicked close split decision and he will be looking to prove that his win was no fluke.  Add to that excitement with a title on top and Cage Titans has themselves a battle!

155 PRO Fernando Perez (Redline) 7-15 vs. Jimmy Manning (SSSF) 4-0

Next up is the first pro fight between Fernando Perez and Jimmy Manning.  Perez trains with Redline and comes into this fight with a 7-15 record.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost them mostly by ko/tko and submissions.  His opponent is Jimmy Manning and he trains with SSSF.  Manning comes into this fight with a perfect 4-0 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  Out of his 4 wins all of them have been finished in the first round.  This is going to be a fun fight to watch and I feel this one could go either way.

140 PRO Shawn Rall (Evolve) 1-0 vs. Jeff Perez (SBG East) 1-0

Then at a catch weight of 140 lbs Shawn Rall will be taking on Jeff Perez.   Rall trains with Evolve and is coming to fight from Ohio in the Cage Titans cage.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record  with 1 win by submission.  As an amateur he went 6-5 with the majority of his wins by submission.  His opponent is Jeff Perez and he trains with SBG East.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by decision.  Now Rall will have his work cut out for him if he wants to finish Jeff because up until now, nobody has been successful in that. Perez's only losses as an amateur were by decision.  Don't blink in this one as Perez has some fists of steel.

125 PRO Dan Cormier (Triforce) 5-7 vs. Johnny Campbell (SSSF) 14-9

At 125 lbs Dan Cormier will face Johnny Campbell.  Cormier trains with Triforce and comes into this fight with a 5-7 record.  In the win column he has 1 win by ko/tko and 4 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 3 sub and 3 by decision.  Cormier will face anyone in this division and has been in many wars and lost some really close decision.  His opponent is Johnny Campbell and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 14-9 record with 5 ko/tko, 4 sub  and 5 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 5 by decision.  Both of these guys are seasoned pro's and will fight anyone anytime anywhere.  This is my favorite fight of the night on this card and I see it being fight of the night and it will go the distance in a close battle.  The question is will we be eating Hamburgers or Cupcakes post fight? :)

155 PRO Keenan Raymond (Judo Club) 3-3 vs. Joe Giannetti (SSSF) 5-0

At 155 lbs Keenan Raymond will be fighting Joe Giannetti.  Raymond trains with Judo Club and comes into this fight with a 3-3 record.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko, 1 submission and 1 decision.  For his losses, he has 2 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  His opponent is Joe Giannetti and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a perfect record of 5-0 with 4 wins by submission and 1 by decision.  Now following along with this fight I would really love to see Giannetti fight tougher opponents but I do know this one was a later match up as his opponent dropped out.  I see this one being a ground battle and Giannetti winning it by submission in the 1st round.

120 PRO Brianna Smith (Champions) 0-0 vs. Danielle Hindley (SSSF) 0-0

At 120 lbs Brianna Smith will be facing Danielle Hindley.  Smith trains with Champions Freestyle MMA out of Alabama.  She will be making her pro debut and as an amateur went 5-10.  It looks like she has a good ground game as many of her wins were by submission.  Her opponent is Danielle Hindley and she trains with SSSF.  She will be making her pro debut as well and as an amateur went 2-1 with both wins by submission.  I have no doubt that this fight is going to be taken place mostly on the mat and I bet will be a real treat for the jiu jitsu fans.  I can't wait!

185 PRO Avery McPhatter (Shift MMA) 9-8 vs Sean Lally (Juniko) 6-2

Then at 185 lbs Avery McPhatter will be taking on Sean Lally.  Avery trains with Shift MMA out of Florida and comes into this fight with a 9-8 record.  In the win column he has 2 by ko/tko, 5 sub and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Sean Lally and he trains with Juniko.  He comes into this fight with a 6-2 record with 5 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  For his losses, he lost both by way of submission.  He is currently riding a 3 fight win streak and would love a 4th.  I see this being a very fast paced fight and very well matched.  It could go either way but of course I will be rooting for my man Lally!

150 PRO Jeff Anderson (B&F Boxing) 11-15 vs. Frank Sforza (SSSF) 7-0

At a catch weight of 150 lbs Jeff Anderson returns to the Cage Titans cage against Frank Sforza.  Anderson trains with B&F Boxing and steps into this fight with an 11-15 record.  He has the majority of his wins by decision and for his losses, 4 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 6 by decision.  His opponent is Frank Sforza and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 7-0 record with 1 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 2 by decision.  In this fight Anderson hasn't really won a fight since 2011 so I see Sforza winning this one by tko to strikes in Rd 2.

135 PRO Bendy Casimir (Drysdale BJJ) 20-14 vs. Manny Bermudez (SSSF) 9-0

In the main event Bendy Casimir will square off against why-hasn't-he-been-called-to-UFC Manny Bermudez at 135 lbs.  Bendy trains with Drydale BJJ with 4 wins by ko/tko, 12 by submission and 4 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 7 by decision.  His opponent is Manny Bermudez and he trains out of SSSF.  Manny comes into this fight with a perfect record of 9-0 with 1 by ko/tko, 6 by submission and 2 by decision.  Manny has fought alot of tough fighters and this one is going to be a challenge as well.  This one is going to be an awesome ground battle and is going to put both fighter's jiu jitsu to the test.  It is too close to predict but I will say I will be rooting for none other than Manny Bermudez to win by submission.

There you have the complete breakdown of the entire Cage Titans card.  I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I had fun writing it.  It took many late nights to write it all as it was 20 fights total LOL.  Shout out to Mike Polvere for always keeping us in the loop on all the latest happenings.  Unfortunately WesternMassMMA.com couldn't find anyone to cover the show but I will be keeping you all up to date here with the Live Updates so no worries.  There will just be no review.  Please share this teaser with your friends!
