CAGE TITANS 41 11/3/2018 TEASER

Cage Titans returns this Saturday to their home in Plymouth Mass for their 41st show since its existence.  In typical Cage Titans fashion, the fight card is packed with a plethora of local fighters from the New England area in very close match ups.  This fight included 18 fights in which 8 of them are professional ones.  If you have never been to Cage Titans, I highly recommend you make the trip and check them out.  I guarantee you will have a great experience and see some great fights and there isn't a bad seat in the hall.  Enough of me babbling, let me break down the fight card for you all in its entirety.  This will most likely be the exact fight order and lineup because Cage Titans is good like that.

170 AM Brian Valasquez (0-0, Triforce) vs Sergey Boychun (0-0, Ascension MMA)

At 170 lbs Brian Valasquez will be taking on Sergey Boychun for the first fight of the night.  Brian trains with Triforce MMA and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Sergey Boychun and he trains with Ascension MMA.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Not much for a prediction here but this should be a solid first battle.

170 AM Zac Lawrence (1-0, Nostos) vs Jon Ciampa (1-4, Connors MMA)

Next up is a fight between Zac Lawrence and Jon Ciampa at 170 lbs.  Zac trains with Nostos MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0.  He won his amateur debut by ko/tko in the first round at a previous NEF event.  He would love another quick finish this Saturday.  His opponent is Jon Ciampa and he trains with Connor's MMA.  He steps into this fight with a 1-4 record with his 1 win by rear naked choke.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 1 by decision.  Another solid match up in which Ciampa has the fight experience and Zac is just getting started at showing what he is capable of to his fans.

185 AM Ariel Nunez (1-1, UFC Gym) vs Jideofor Ojukwu (1-1, SSSF)

Then at 185 lbs Ariel Nunez will be facing off against Jideofor Ojukwu.  Ariel trains with UFC Gym and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with his 1 win by triangle at the last Cage Titans event.  His opponent is Jideofor Ojukwu and he trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by decision and 1 loss by ko/tko.  As you can see their records are identical which I am sure this will be another close battle.

145 AM Rafael Adames (0-0, Triforce) vs Brandon Vogel (1-0, BST MMA)

Next up is a fight at 145 lbs between Rafael Adames and Brandon Vogel.  Rafael trains with Triforce and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Brandon Vogel and he trains with BST MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win by submission.  You could give Vogel the edge in this one due to his fight experience but I know Triforce will have Adames more then ready for this one so I see it being a close battle.

At 115 lbs Jack Stapleton will be taking on Sam Stewart.  Jack trains with Trifecta and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He made quick work of his opponent at the last Combat Zone and ended up winning by a kneebar in Rd 1.  His opponent is Sam Stewart and he trains with Savery BJJ.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by submission in Round 1.  I think it is pretty safe to say this fight is going to be a ground battle and should be a fun fight for jiu jitsu fans.

Then at 140 lbs Anthony Morales will be taking on Will Alfano in the Cage Titans cage.  Morales trains with Triforce and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Will Alfano and he trains with Connor's MMA.  Two new fighters from 2 solid schools should equal a great match.

Next up is at 140 lbs Tara Pires will be taking on Kristina Katsikis.  Tara trains with Team BJKA and will be making her amateur debut.  Her opponent is Kristina Katsikis and she trains with SSSF.  She will also be making her amateur debut.  Two ladies ready to duke it out and make a name for themselves in front of the Cage Titans crowd.

At 155 lbs Dion Rubio is set to square off against James Squires.  Rubio trains with Triforce and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  He won both of his fights by way of submission at previous Cage Titan events.  His opponent is James Squires and he trains with Sityodtong.  He comes into this fight with a 2-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by decision.  His sole loss came by submission to Jake Pilla.  I see this one being a ground battle and should be another fun one to watch.

Daniel Pina is ready to face off against Arthur Mpofu at 135 lbs.  Pina trains with Citadel and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first fight by decision against Glenn Kasabian back in early 2017.  His opponent is Arthur Mpofu and he trains with SBG East.  He comes into this fight with 1-0 record with 1 win by decision.  Their records are identical and we know they can both go the distance.

In the last undercard fight of the night Sean Murrin will be taking on Shane Dougherty at 145 lbs.  Murrin trains with Broadway BJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has 1 win by ko/tko and 1 loss by decision so far in his amateur career.  His opponent is Shane Dougherty and he trains with USMMA.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins by decision.  In this fight both fighters have the exact same fight experience in the cage and their records are close.  I see this one being a stand up war and will be a great way to get the fans ready for the pro fights.

170 PRO Montoyia Swilling (0-12, God's Team) vs. Marty Navis (0-0 Lauzon)

At 170 lbs Montoyia Swilling will be taking on Marty Navis in the first pro fight of the night.  Swilling trains with God's Team and comes into this fight with an 0-12 record. Swilling has yet to win in New England and has losses by ko/tko and ways of submission.  His opponent is Marty Navis and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  He comes into this fight ready to make his pro debut.  As an amateur he has a 3-3 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  For his losses, he lost all 3 by way of decision.  I see this one being a quick one as both fighters will come out guns blazing.

130 PRO Kenny Lewis (0-1 Lewis MMA) vs. Jacobo Apito (0-0 Citadel)

Then at 130 lbs Kenny Lewis will be taking on Jacobo Apito.  Lewis trains with Lewis MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his pro debut in just 11 seconds by a head kick tko at the previous Cage Titans event.  As an amateur it looks like he went 9-15 so definitely knows how to slug it out.  His opponent is Jacobo Apito and he trains with Citadel.  He will be making his pro debut with an amateur record of 4-2-1.  For his wins he has 1 win by ko/tko and 3 by way of decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by rear naked choke and 1 by decision.  I see this one being a stand up war and should be a fun fight to watch.

160 PRO Keegan Hornstra (3-9 Nostos) vs. Peter Barrett (9-3 Sityodtong)

Next up is at 160 lbs Keegan Hornstra steps back into the cage against Peter Barrett.  Hornstra trains with Nostos MMA and comes into this fight with a 3-9 record.  In the win column, he has 1 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost them by submissions and ko/tkos.  His opponent is Peter Barrett and he trains with Sityodtong.  He comes into this fight with 9-3 record with 6 ko/tko, 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  In this match up I think Keegan will want to get this fight to the ground and control Peter to get the win.  For Barrett, he will want to keep this fight standing and make it stand up battle.

135 PRO Chris Thorne (5-9 ATT Miramar) vs. Randy Costa (2-0 Lauzon)

At 135 lbs Chris Thorne will be taking on Randy Costa.  Thorne trains with ATT Miramar and comes into this fight with a 5-9 record.  In the win column, he has 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submissions and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 4 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Randy Costa and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins by ko/tko.  This is a great fight as Thorne is a well balanced fighter and with Costa we know he has heavy hands and wins very quickly.  We will have to see how this one pans out.

Next up is at 135 lbs Pat Corrigan will be squaring off against Kin Moy.  Pat trains with Gracie Tampa and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  For his wins, he won 1 by sub and 1 by decision.  His 1 loss came by way of decision.  His opponent is Kin Moy who trains with Citadel.  He comes into this fight with an 8-3 record with 2 by ko/tko, 5 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  After we all had a fun laugh on Facebook when Polvere had a photo of Kylie O'Hearn up in place of Kin, now it is time to get to business.  I see this one being ended on the ground as both fighters are comfortable there.

115 PRO Alyssa Krahn (4-2 Hayabusa Training) vs. Danielle Hindley (3-0 SSSF)

Then at 115 lbs Alyssa Krahn will be facing off against Danielle Hindley.  Krahn trains with Hayabusa Training team and she comes into this fight with a 4-2 record.  She steps into the cage with 1 win by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  Both of her losses came by way of split decision.  Her opponent is Danielle Hindley and she trains with SSSF.  He comes into this fight with a 3-0 record with all 3 wins by way of submission.  Cage Titans fans are in for a treat here as this is going to be an awesome back and forth war.  I see this one being settled on the ground and with a win from this fight could propel them into the Invicta division next.

135 PRO Dan Dubuque (6-2 Golden Falcon) vs. Johnny Campbell (16-10 SSSF)

At 135 lbs Dan Dubuque will be taking on Johnny Campbell.  Double D trains with Golden Falcon and comes into this fight with a 6-2 record with 2 by ko/tko and 4 wins by decision.  His 2 losses came by way of decision.  His opponent is Johnny Campbell and he trains with SSSF.  Campbell comes into this fight with a 16-10 record with 5 wins by ko/tko, 5 by submission and 6 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 6 by decision.  Both of these fighters are seasoned veterans in the cage and I see this one being a stand up war going the distance.

155 PRO Josh Harvey (5-0 Young's MMA) vs. Joe Giannetti (7-1 SSSF)

The main event features Josh Harvey taking on Joe Giannetti at 155 lbs.  Harvey trains with Young's MMA and coming down from Maine and putting his undefeated 5-0 record on the line.  In the win column he has 2 by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  His opponent is Joe Giannetti and he trains with SSSF and comes into this fight with a 7-1 record with the majority of his wins by submission.  His 1 loss came by split decision in the Ultimate Fighter Finale show.  This fight is worth the price of admission and is definitely a fight of night if not year contender.  This will be Harvey's toughest fight to date and a good match up that will show us in New England who is the better 155lber in New England.  I do want to commend Harvey on taking this fight as he usually fights at 145 lbs and is coming down from Maine to take this fight in front of the Plymouth crowd.
