NEF 45 TEASER 11/5/2021

New England Fighter returns to Maine for the first time this year this Friday, November 5th 2021.  This one will be their 45th installment and takes place in Portland at Club Aura.  Tickets are very limited but some are available at the link here.  If you prefer to stream it, then the link is here for just $29.  The doors will be opening at 6pm and the first fight is set to start at 7pm.  There are a total of 21 fights and they are all mixed martial arts.  Out of the 21 fights, 6 of them are professional bouts and there are 4 title fights.  I would also like to note that if you plan on attending this show Club Aura requires a negative covid test within a few days or a photo of you being fully vaccinated to attend.  Warchild and I plan on making the trip up north to cover the show for you all.  With that said, let me break down the fight card for you.  I am going to skip the 0-0 fights to save me some time.  This should be the exact fight order for the night.

135 AM Tyler Parent (0-1 CMBJJ) vs. Randall Hathorn (1-1 Vision Quest)

In the first fight Tyler Parent will be taking on Randall Hathorn.  Tyler trains with CMBJJ and he comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first battle by submission at NEF 44.  His opponent is Randall Hathorn and he trains with Vision Quest.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 loss by ko/tko.  Very close record and they are from good schools.  This should be a good one.

155 AM Jacob Routon (0-0 Independent) vs. Emmett Huber (1-1 The Academy)

Then at 155 lbs Jacob Routon will be squaring off against Emmet Huber.  Routon is an independent fighter and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Emmet Huber and he trains out of the Academy.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by split decision.  This is another close record battle so we will have to wait and see how this one turns out.

115 AM Julian Menjivar (0-0 Karasu Tengu Academy) vs. Matt Miles (1-0 Independent)

Then at 115 lbs Julian Menjivar will be facing off against Matt Miles.  Julian trains with Karasu Tengu Academy and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Matt Miles and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with a split decision victory.  Matt had a great first fight and if he brings that same energy then this one is going to be a good stand up battle.

165 AM Austin Hamilton (0-3 Independent) vs. David Hart (1-4 Kenney's MMA)

Next at a catch weight of 165 lbs Austin Hamilton will be taking on David Hart.  Hamilton is an independent fighter with a record of 0-3.  He lost 1 by retirement, 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  He is still looking for his first victory.  His opponent is David Hart and he trains with Kenney's MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-4 record with his 1 win by guillotine at NEF 39.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  I see this one being a back and forth stand up battle.

170 AM Curtis Ouellette (1-2 CMBJJ) vs. Derek Lambert (0-0 Nostos)

At 170 lbs Curtis Ouellette will be taking on Derek Lambert.  Curtis trains with CMBJJ and he comes into this fight with a 1-2 record with 1 win by ko/tko and his 2 losses by decision.  His opponent is Derek Lambert and he trains with Nostos.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I see this one being a back and forth stand up battle.

265 AM Tucker Olinsky (0-0 Independent) vs. George Pissimissis (0-1 Wai Kru)

In the heavyweight division Tucker Olinsky will be taking on George Pissimissis.  Tucker is an independent fighter who will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is George P and he trains out of Wai Kru.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his 1 loss is by injury.  Once again, this is another close record which should be a good fight.

170 AM Brian Cosco (5-10 BTT/Sityodtong) vs. Tyler Kingsbury (0-0 Independent)

At 170 lbs Brian Cosco will be challenging Tyler Kingsbury in the NEF cage.  Brian Cosco trains with BTT and Sityodtong.  He comes into this fight with a 5-10 record with 1 ko/tko and 4 submission wins.  For his losses, he lost 4 ko/tko, 4 submission and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Tyler Kingsbury and he is an independent fighter.  He will be making his amateur debut.  This does feel like a mismatch to me but I don't know much about Tyler Kingsbury but he better bring his A game.

200 AM David McCarthy (0-0 Titan Athletics) vs. Danny Dray (0-0 Independent)

115 AM BJ Garceau (1-1 Young's MMA) vs. Hayley Martin (0-0 Independent)

At 115 lbs BJ Garceau will be facing Hayley Martin.  BJ trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  She won 1 fight by split decision and lost 1 fight by ko/tko.  Her opponent is Hayley Martin and she is an independent fighter.  She will be making her amateur debut.  The ladies always bring it so I see this one being a stand up battle.

135 AM TITLE Felipe Günter (3-0 First Class) vs. Teddy Politis (2-0 Evolution Athletix)

Next up is the title fight between Felipe Gunter and Teddy Politis in the 135 lb division.  Gunter trains with First Class MMA and has 2 wins by submission and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Teddy Politis and he trains with Evolution Athletix.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins by submission.  I definitely see this fight being a ground battle.  Both fighters are undefeated so you know they are going to bring it!  Definitely a fight of the night contender.

145 AM TITLE Billy Wilson (6-1 Jackson Wink) vs. Nathaniel Grimard (c) (4-0 Nostos)

Then comes the 145 lb NEF amateur title fight between Billy Wilson and Nathaniel Grimard.  Billy comes from Jackson Wink and comes into this fight with a 6-1 record.  In the win column, he has 3 ko/tko, 1 submission and 2 by decision.  His 1 loss came by a decision in his last fight.  His opponent is Nathaniel Grimard and he comes into this fight with a 4-0 record.  For his wins, he won 1 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  Nate is the current champ and Billy is traveling to challenge him.  Thank you to both fighters for taking a tough fight!  With that said this fight really could go anywhere with it standing or on the mat.  Again this is another fight of the night contender.

At 125 lbs Caleb Austin will be facing Tyler Smythe for the NEF amateur title.  Caleb trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 5-0 record.  For his wins, he has 3 ko/tko, 1 submission and 1 by way of decision.  He will be looking to keep his perfect record intact and to get the strap.  His opponent is Tyler Smythe and he trains with Evolution Athletix.  He comes into this fight with a 2-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by decision.  His only loss came by a split decision.  This is going to be another absolute war. Now onto the pro fights.

170 PRO CJ Ewer (3-3 Thunder Pig) vs. Shaun Ray (0-1 Independent)

For the first pro fight CJ Ewer will be taking on Shaun Ray.  CJ trains with Thunder Pig and comes into this fight with a 3-3 record.  In the win column, he has 1 ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he has 2 by submission and 1 by doctor stoppage.  His opponent is Shaun Ray and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his loss to Caleb Hall by submission.  I give Shaun credit for taking another tough fight but I see CJ winning this one by submission.

160 PRO Jay Ellis (15-100 Red Schaffer MMA) vs. Rodrigo Almeida (14-4 Young Lion MMA)

Then at 160 lbs Jay Ellis will be facing Rodrigo Almeida.  Jay Ellis trains with Red Schaffer MMA and comes into this fight with a 15-100 record.  Jay has fought all over New England and has never won a single fight around here.  His opponent is Rodrigo Almeida and he trains with Young Lion MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 14-4 record.  In the win column, he won 2 by ko/tko, 6 by submission and 6 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by submission and 1 by decision.  I am not a fan of this match up and I see Almeida winning this one with a submission in Round 1.

170 PRO Jon Deupree (2-0 Recon) vs. Matt Denning (5-11 Denning's MMA)

At 170 lbs Jon Deupree will be challenging Matt Denning.  Jon trains out of Recon and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 ko/tko and 1 submission win.  His opponent is Matt Denning and he trains with Denning MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 5-11 record with all 5 of his wins by submission.  For his losses, he lost 7 by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  Matt Denning has been training hard and he got a tough match again.  I see this one being a quick one.

140 PRO Carl Langston (0-5 Young's MMA) vs. Zac Richard (0-0 Evolution Athletix)

At 140 lbs Carl Langston will be taking on Zac Richard.  Carl trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-5 record.  He lost 1 by ko/tko and 4 by decision.  His opponent is Zac Richard and he trains with Evolution Athletix.  Zac will be making his much anticipated pro debut.  As an amateur 6-3 with 3 ko/tko, 1 submission and 2 by decision.  I like this match up for both fighters and I see it being a ground battle.

170 PRO Nick Alley (7-4 Team Link) vs. Mark Gardner (1-2 The Academy)

At 170 lbs Nick Alley will be squaring off against Mark Gardner.  Nick trains with Team Link and comes into this fight with a 7-4 record.  In the win column, he has 1 ko/tko, 5 submissions and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 4 by ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is Mark Gardner and he trains with The Academy.  He comes into this fight with a 1-2 record with 1 win by doctor stoppage.  For his losses, he lost 1 by doctor stoppage and 1 by ko/tko to strikes.  I love this fight and I see it being a back and forth ground battle.

145 PRO TITLE Josh Harvey (c) (7-1-1 Vision Quest) vs. Aguilando Brandao (9-8 Boston Krav Maga)

In the main event Josh Harvey defends his title against Aguilando Brandao.  Harvey trains out of Vision Quest and comes into this fight with a 7-1 record with 2 by ko/tko and 5 by submission.  His opponent is Aguilando Brandao and he trains with Boston Krav Maga.  He comes into this fight with a 9-8 record with 1 ko/tko and 8 submissions.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 4 by decision.  Aguilando hasn't fought mma since 2013 but he has fought a bunch of boxing matches since then.  In this fight I see Brandao wanting to keep this one standing and for Harvey he will want to work his takedown and control the battle on the mat.  This should be another good back and forth battle.

This concludes this teaser.  Thanks for reading all the way until the end.  As you can see New England Fights has some awesome match ups that should be sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.  I am looking forward to making the trip and seeing these all live.  Stay right here as we keep you all up to date and get your closer to the cage.
