🚨BREAKING--🚨 CALEB AUSTIN TO FACE 4X CHAMPION WRESTLER MEDEIROS AT NEF 46 ON FEBRUARY 12

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (December 22, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 46: Decade of Dominance,” on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. The leading regional promotion launched on February 11, 2012. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the fight card. Former NEF Amateur Flyweight Title Challenger Caleb “Dr. Feelgood” Austin (5-1) is scheduled to face New Hampshire’s Josh Medeiros (0-1) at a fight weight 130-pounds.

Caleb Austin made his NEF debut at the age of 18 while still a high school senior in 2017. He put together a record of 208-11 wrestling for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine where he won two state titles at 126-pounds. He won the first four fights of his amateur MMA career via finish. Most recently, Austin sustained the first loss of his career when he was stopped by NEF Flyweight Champion Tyler “Butter Knife” Smythe (3-1) in the fourth round of their championship fight last November at “NEF 45: Uprising.” Austin currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston, Maine.

“On February 12th, I begin my journey back to capturing the NEF flyweight title,” Austin stated. “I’m convinced that I have the skills to be the top 125-pounder in the Northeast. Facing and overcoming adversity is part of the process in any worthwhile pursuit in life. I will be back in a big way at NEF’s 10-year event.”

Josh Medeiros won four state titles wrestling for Pelham High School in Pelham, New Hampshire. He made his MMA debut at a fight card in Massachusetts in August 2021. He currently trains under ultra-reputable NEF veteran Walter Smith Cotito (5-6) and represents Smith’s Karasu Tengu Academy in Nashua, New Hampshire.

“I look forward to displaying my skills that I’ve worked on and dedicated my life to the last two-years to become a mixed martial artist,” Medeiros stated.

“NEF 46: Decade of Dominance” takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine.  The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. Doors open at 6 pm with first fight at 7 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at www.Ticketmaster.com.
