It is with great sadness that I write about the passing of a local legend up in Maine, Jesse Peterson. Jesse was a professional fighter with a record of 7-5. Jesse has fought all over New England including Reality Fighting, WCF, Bellator and of course NEF. Jesse was a former NEF Pro middleweight champion having defeated Cody Lightfoot for the title at NEF 4 in September of 2012. Even though he hasn't fought since 2014 he was always seen around New England Fights cage helping to corner young up and comers from CMBJJ. I will always remember his smile and his passion for the sport. He wanted every fighter to succeed and would do everything to help his teammates win.
