📰TEASER--📰 COMBAT ZONE 75--3/17/2022

Combat Zone invades Massachusetts with their 75th show this Thursday.  The show will be taking place at the Encore Casino in Everett Mass.  The first fight is set to start around 7pm.  The show will be a mixed martial arts and grappling event.  Tickets are still available at the link here.  At the time of this writing they have 8 mixed martial arts and 1 grappling super fight.  Let me break down the fight card for you all.  To save some time because it is a short fight week I will be skipping the 0-0 fights.

NO GI GRAPPLING Tim Caron vs. Mike Zichelle

155 AM MMA Joe Movessian (0-1 Zichelle MMA) vs. Tristan Turano (1-0 Triforce)

First mma fight with be an amateur fight at 155 lbs between Joe Movessian and Tristan Turano.  Joe trains with Zichelle MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first battle by split decision at CZ 74 against Drew Yeadon.  His opponent is Tristan Turano and he trains with Triforce.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his sole win by decision at a former Premier FC event.  I see this one being a back and forth stand up battle and I can see it going the distance.

125 AM MMA Mike Titus (0-0 Defensive Edge) vs. Geraldo Reyes (0-0 Team Link NH)

150 AM MMA Lucas Rosa (2-0 American Combat Gym) vs. Joe Whitehouse (0-0 NHMMA)

At a catch weight of 150 lbs Lucas Rosa will be facing off against Joe Whitehouse.  Lucas trains out of Florida with American Combat Gym.  He steps into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Joe Whitehouse and he trains with NH MMA.  He will be making his amateur debut.

145 PRO Rico DiSciullo (9-2 Siytodtong) vs. Rob Fuller (1-14)

At 145 lbs Rico Disciullo will be stepping into the cage again for the first time since 2018.  He trains with Sityodtong and comes into this fight with a 9-2 record.  In the win column, he has 3 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 4 by way of decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  His opponent is Rob Fuller and comes into this fight with a 1-14 record.  He won his 1 win by ko/tko to strikes and for his losses he lost 7 by ko/tko and 7 by submission.  This is not the best match up at all and I see Rico winning this one easily in the 1st round if the fight does happen.  This fight will definitely be a stand up battle.

170 PRO MMA Jay Ellis (16-103 Ellis MMA) vs. Kasheem Peterson (4-2 Webb Fight Team NJ)

Then at 170 lbs Jay Ellis will be taking on Kasheem Peterson.  Jay trains with Ellis MMA and comes into this fight with a 16-103 record.  In the win column, he has 3 by ko/tko and 13 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 27 by ko/tko, 71 by submission and 4 by way of decision.  His opponent is Kasheem Peterson and he comes to us from PA.  He steps into this fight with a 4-2 record with his wins back from 2010.  If I found the right person on Tapology it looks like he hasn't fought in over 10 years.  This isn't a bad match up so should be a good ground battle.

135 PRO MMA Carlos Espinosa (6-5 ATT Tampa) vs. John Douma (6-2 Tri-Force)

At 135 lbs Carlos Espinosa will be challenging John Douma in the Combat Zone cage.  Carlos trains with ATT Tampa and steps into this fight with a 6-5 record.  In the win column, he won 3 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 3 by decision.  His opponent is John Douma and he trains with Tri-Force.  He comes into this fight with a 6-2 record with 2 ko/tko, 3 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  This fight should be fight of the night contender and this fight could go anywhere as both fighters are very well rounded.

135 PRO MMA Mitch Raposo (5-1 Regiment) vs Jay Viola (3-2 Robot Fight & Fitness)

In the 135 lb pro division Mitch Raposo will be taking on Jay Viola.  Mitch trains out of Regiment and comes into this fight with a 5-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 2 by way of decision.  His 1 loss came by rear naked choke from a UFC Contender Series fight.  His opponent is Jay Viola and he trains with Robot Fight & Fitness.  He comes into this fight with a 3-2 record with all 3 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 1 by decision.  I see this one being a back and forth battle with the slight edge to Raposo.  I can see him winning this one on the ground.

155 PRO TITLE FIGHT Andre Borges (8-4 BTT Rio De Janiero) vs. Nick Fiore (3-0 Renzo Gracie NH

In the main event Andre Borges will be challenging Nick Fiore for the 155 lb Combat Zone title.  Borges trains with BTT Rio  De Janiero and comes into this fight with an 8-4 record.  In the win column, he has 7 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 4 by decision.  His opponent is Nick Fiore and he trains with Renzo Gracie NH.  He comes into this battle with a 3-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  This fight is definitely worthy of a title and most likely a fight of the night contender.  I think this one will be Nick's toughest battle to date as a professional and I am looking forward to him rising to the challenge.  I think Andre will want to try to keep this one standing and Nick will most likely want this battle on the ground.  Who will be victorious this Thursday?  Keep checking WesternMassMMA.com as we will keep you up to date.
