New England Fights returns this Friday on November 3rd, 2017.  This will be their 31st installment and it will be at a new location that they have secured.  The show will be held at Club Aura located in Portland Maine.  The venue I am told has great lighting and sound but is much smaller than the Colisee.  I am anxious to check it out myself for the first time this Friday.  They have a total of 15 fights which include 3 amateur title fights and 2 pro fights.  The doors open at 6pm and the first fight is set to start at 7pm.  Please follow along as I break down the fight card in its entirety.  Also keep in mind that this will be the exact fight order of tomorrow night.

135 AM Danae Dostie 0-0 (Kenney’s) vs Jayda Bailey 0-0 (Young’s)
Danae Dostie will be facing Jayda Bailey at 135 lbs. Danae trains with Kenney's and she will be making her amateur debut. Her opponent is Jayda Bailey and she trains with Young's MMA. She will also be making her amateur debut. Jayda is well known up in Maine as she was very popular in high school wrestling and in grappling tournaments. I, for one am excited to see her make her amateur debut at just days after her 18th birthday.

135 AM Sarah Matulis 0-0 (Outlet) vs Chelsea Elizabeth 0-0 (First Class)
Then at 135 lbs Sarah Matulis is facing off against Chelsea Elizabeth. Sarah trains with Outlet MMA and will be making her amateur debut. Her opponent is Chelsea Elizabeth and she trains with First Class. She will also be making her amateur debut. If you are keeping track this will be the 3rd amateur female fight on the night but there is still one more coming later on. Both of these girls are fresh to amateur mma so who knows what we will expect and to me that makes it exciting.

175 AM Carlton Charles 1-0 (Charles Family) vs Mark Gardner 0-0 (Academy)
Then at 175 lbs Carlton Charles will be taking on Mark Gardner. Charles trains with the Charles Family and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record. He won his first fight in a big way with a slugfest with a ko/tko win in just 23 seconds against Josh Jones. He would love another quick finish this Friday. His opponent is Mark Gardner and he trains with the Academy. He will be making his amateur debut. I don't see this one being any different but an action packed stand and bang fight.

155 AM Garry Carr 0-0 (CMBJJ) vs David Hart 0-1 (Kenney’s)
In the next fight Garry Carr will be taking on David Hart. Carr trains with CMBJJ in Maine and will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is David Hard and he trains with Kenney's. He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by submission at the previous NEF event. In this one Hart has the 1 fight experience but with Carr being from CMBJJ I know he will be more than ready for where the fight leads.

160 AM Bill Cole 0-0 (Fusion) vs Nathan Pete 0-0 (Boyington's)
Next up is Bill Cole taking on Nathan Pete at a catch weight of 160 lbs. Cole trains with Fusion and will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Nathan Pete and he trains with Boyington's TKD. He will also be making his amateur debut. Two new fighters looking to make a name for themselves this Friday! Get pumped!

155 AM Will McCall 2-2 (Evolution) vs Emmett Huber 0-1 (Academy)
At 155 lbs Will McCall will be facing off against Emmet Huber. McCall trains out of Evolution Athletix MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-2 record. He has 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by submission so far in his amateur career. For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 1 by way of decision. He is looking to secure another W and put his record over .500 this Friday night. His opponent is Emmet Huber and he trains out of the Academy. He steps into this fight with an 0-1 record with his one loss by a split decision back in 2015 at a previous NEF event. In this fight McCall will have the fight experience and we know they both have the stamina to go the distance. I see this one being a ground battle to a decision.

135 AM Carol Linn Powell 0-0 (Nostos) vs Francesca Morabito 0-0 (Choi)
At 135 lbs Carol Linn Powell will be taking on Francesca Morabito. Powell trains out of Nostos in New Hampshire and is the wife of Devin Powell. She will be making her much awaited amateur debut. Her opponent is Francesca Morabito and she trains out of Choi's Institute in Maine. She will also be making her amateur debut. The females always bring the crowd to their feet cheering and this one will be a double debut and that makes it even more exciting.

145 AM Isaac Therrien 0-0 (Berserkers) vs Chad Weymouth 0-1 (Boyington's)
At 145 lbs Isaac Therrien is ready to square off against Chad Weymouth. Isaac trains with the Berserkers MMA and he will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Chad Weymouth and he trains with Boyington's TKD. He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes back in 2009. Both fighters are from solid schools so this should be a good one. I see this one being a stand up battle.

170 AM Mohammed al Kinani 0-0 (Evolution) vs Phil Pearson 0-1 (First Class)
At 170 lbs Mohammed al Kinani will be fighting Phil Pearson. Mohammed trains with Evolution and will be making his amateur debut. His opponent is Phil Pearson and he trains with First Class. He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with a loss by split decision. Another close record fight should make for another solid battle.

135 AM Carl Langston 6-9 (Young’s) vs Henry Clark 3-3 (Choi)

Next up is at 135 lbs Carl Langston will face off against Henry Clark. Carl trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 6-9 record. In the win column, he has 2 wins by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 3 by decision. For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 3 by decision. His opponent is Henry Clark and he trains with Choi's Institute. He steps into this fight with a 3-3 record with all 3 wins by submission. For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 1 by decision. As you can see this is a very closely matched fight and both fighters have proven they can finish.

265 AM TITLE Nick Gulliver (First Class/Foundry) 4-0 vs Terrance Jean-Jacques (Team Link) 2-0
For the first title fight of the night Nick Gulliver will be facing Terrance Jean-Jacques in the heavyweight division. Nick trains with First Class/Foundry and is the current champ. He comes into this fight with an undefeated 4-0 record with 3 wins by ko/tko and 1 by submission. His opponent is Terrance Jean-Jacques and he trains with Team Link Hooksett. He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by decision. This is going to be another awesome fight and I think Nick will want to keep it standing and work his striking game. Terrance, a wrestler at heart will want to get this fight to the ground and control Nick and wear him down. This should be a close battle.

125 AM TITLE Nate Boucher 2-0 (CMBJJ) vs Justin Witham 3-4 (Shatterproof)
In the next title fight Nate Boucher will be taking on Justin Witham for the 125 lb NEF amateur title. Boucher trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record. He won 1 fight by submission and 1 fight by decision. He is looking to keep his perfect record intact and to also take home the coveted belt. His opponent is Justin Witham and he trains with Shatterproof. He comes into this fight with a 3-4 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 2 wins by submission. In the loss column, he lost 3 by submission and 1 by decision. This fight I see being very fast paced and I don't see it going to a decision.

115 AM TITLE Alex Walker 4-1 (Kaze) vs Hilarie Rose 4-3 (USMMA)
Then for the last title fight of the night Alex Walker will be facing off against Hillarie Rose. Walker trains with Kaze Dojo and comes into this fight with a record of 4-1. In the win column, she has 3 wins by submission and 1 by way of decision. She lost her first fight by decision against Randi Beth Boyington. Her opponent is Hilarie Rose and she trains with USMMA. She comes into this fight with a record of 4-3. In the win column, she has 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 by way of submission. In the loss column, she lost 1 by submission and 2 by decision. This fight is going to an awesome one. Hilarie will want to keep this fight standing to win and Walker will want to take this fight to the ground where she can work her ground game. Walker has had some kickboxing fights so she can stand as well. Who will be victorious this Friday at NEF and take that strawweight belt?

150 PRO John Raio 2-8 (First Class) vs Zenon Herrera 0-5 (Independent)
In the first pro fight of the night John Raio returns from retirement to face Zenon Herrara. Raio trains with First Class and comes into this fight with a 2-8 with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by submission. In the loss column, he lost majority of them by ko/tko or by submission. His opponent is an independent fighter with an 0-5 record. For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 3 by submission. Now this is mma and anything can happen but I see Raio winning this one by Round 1 submission.

130 PRO Paul Gorman 10-9 (Academy) vs James Blair 5-1 (ATT)
In the main event Paul Gorman will be fighting James Blair at a catch of 130 lbs. Paul Gorman trains with the Academy and comes into this fight with a 10-9 record. In the win column, he has 6 wins by submission and 4 by decision. For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 5 by decision. His opponent is James Blair and he trains out of ATT. He comes into this fight with a record of 5-1 with 3 wins by submission and 2 by decision. His one loss came by a decision to Askar Askar at a previous Titan FC event. This is a big fight taking place in New England and it definitely could be a fight of the year contender for 2017. I see this one being a ground battle as both fighters seem comfortable on the ground.
