CLARK AND BARTLETT SET FOR FEATHERWEIGHT SHOWDOWN AT NEF 42

Henry Clark

 [NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (January 13, 2020) – New England Fights (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, "NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction," on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur featherweight bout to the card.  Henry Clark (5-5) is scheduled to face Taylor Bartlett (2-2-1) at a fight weight of 145 pounds.

Henry Clark last appeared in the cage at “NEF 38” in an unsuccessful bid to unseat Kam Arnold (6-1) as the NEF Amateur Bantamweight Champion.  The loss ended a two-fight win-streak that saw Clark submit Jack Greene (2-6) and claim a unanimous decision over Killian Murphy (1-2).

Clark is a longtime veteran of the NEF circuit, having debuted with the promotion in 2014.  He is a product of the Choi Institute of Portland and currently trains with Recon Fitness based in Westbrook, Maine.

“I'm so incredibly excited to fight Taylor,” said Clark.  “He is as tough as anyone and doesn't stop, but I'm planning on changing that by bringing a decisive end to his ‘tough as nails’ attitude. I've spent too long at 35 and I feel rejuvenated moving back up to 145. Honestly, it's long overdue.”

Taylor Bartlett
Taylor Bartlett has indeed gained a reputation for his “tough as nails” fighting style since arriving in NEF in 2018.  Bartlett needed only eight seconds to down Randall Hathorne (0-1) at “NEF 40” last September, twelve seconds shorter than Bartlett’s first win over Delmarkis Edwards (0-2) at “NEF 34.”

Bartlett’s two losses have come to top competitors Devin Corson (3-1) and current NEF Amateur Welterweight Champion Duncan “The Highlander” Smith (5-3).  Bartlett went to a draw with Jacob Deppmeyer (1-2-1) in a hard-fought, back-and-forth contest at “NEF 35.”

Bartlett represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in Lewiston, Maine.

“First and foremost, I’d like to thank my opponent for making this fight happen,” stated Bartlett.  “Secondly, I promise this will be an explosive fight that you won’t want to miss. I’m excited to showcase my skills entering 2020.”
