Warchild and I made our way to Gate 1 and found our way to the Young Building. There is a line out the door of hungry fans looking to see some action. The show is in a larger building than the usual Ammo one and the word around the cage is that Ammo is basically sold out which is awesome. Inside the venue there is the cage with chairs all around it and also a restaurant the West Side Grille. This is a packed card with 2 grappling matches kicking off right at 5pm and following that will be 15 mma fights. This is the most fights Ammo has ever had so I am happy to see them growing more and more each show. Krystyne showed us to our seats by the cage and we found our buddy Nicola from FarOneMMA. Real good crowd here I would estimate over 1000+ . Please follow along as I recap the night.

Rory Connors defeats Juninho Alvim by kneebar in the first grappling match. Juninho’s knee popped, so hope he is alright.
GRAPPLING Charles Soffen (Team Link) vs. Logan Dias ( Casa Jiu Jitsu)
Logan Dias wins guillotine over Charles Soffen in the 2nd grappling match.
190 AM MMA Logan Bond (0-0 Ascension) vs Lee Mchorse (0-0 Carlson Gracie Team)
Rd 1: Both fighters start the round out with some leg kicks. Mchorse gets the slamming takedown and Logan pops right back up. They clinch and they fall to the mat with Logan in guard as the round ends.
McHorse 10-9
Rd 2: The fighters are working the clinch this round with not much to judge on.
Real close round, I say McHorse 10-9 for controlling the round.
Rd 3: Logan goes high with a kick that just grazes the face. They clinch and Lee gets the trip and Logan is on top. Both fighters are trying for ankle locks. Lee is trying to stand up but can’t keep his balance. Logan is back in guard and Lee was going for the armbar with just seconds left.
Bond 10-9
Lee McHorse defeats Logan Bond via split decision. What a great first fight!
145 AM MMA Jake Russo (0-0 FAA) vs Parker Smith (0-0 Dog Town MMA)
Rd 1: Jake connects with a kick. Parker gets a takedown and Jake has the guillotine. Parker picks Jake and slams him to the mat. Parker picks up Jake and slams him to the mat again. Jake tries for a triangle but the triangle is too high. Jake is standing up and kicks Parker with a foot stomp. Ref deducts a point and fight resumes.
Real close round I say Smith 10-8
Rd 2: Jake gets in a leg kick and gets a takedown. He passes to full mount and is dropping heavy bombs. Parker is putting his legs and has a lock. Jake rips the leg lock out and takes the back. Jake is trying for a key lock and Parker gets the roll and has the side. Jake reverses and is in guard as the round ends.
Russo 10-8
Rd 3: Jake gets in some combos. The crowd cheers him on. Parker tries for a takedown and Jake takes the back and gets the rear naked choke for the tap.

170 AM MMA Len Patrick Asselin (0-0 Thunder MMA) vs Jon Viruet (0-0 G&G Wrestling Academy)
Jon ducks under a punch and slams Len to the mat. Jon is trying hard for the finish. Jon is warned about punches to the back of the head twice. Len gives up his back and Jon hits him with another punch to the back of head. Ref stands them back up and fight resumes. Jon scoops Len up and slams him to the mat. Jon is getting in some heavy ground and pound. Blood is coming out of Len.
Viruet 10-8
Rd 2: Jon comes out swinging and is connecting with heavy shots. Len is trying to defend and spin but he is getting hit with too many shots. Ref has seen enough.

Rd 1: Matt connects with a right. Robby pulls Matt to the mat. Matt has the back and Robby stands up. He can’t get arm under and is softening him up with strikes. He falls off and they break to the center. Robby is pressing Matt up against the cage. Robby slams Matt and is in guard. Matt kicks him off and Robby slams him into the cage. Robby is trying for a takedown as the round ends.
Rodriguez 10-9
Rd 2: Robby gets in a leg kick. He is looking for the single leg but can’t get it. Robby picks Matt up and slams him to the mat. Matt stands back up and Robby slams him to the mat again. They bounce right back up. Robby connects with a right that drops Matt to his butt. He is trying for the finish and ends up in Matt’s guard. Matt works an armbar and gets the tap.
Matthew Rodriguez defeats Robby Grillo via tapout to armbar at 2:52 in Round 2. Wow what an awesome war that was too!!
155 AM MMA Justin Perez (0-0 Underground MMA) vs Jack Maycock (0-0 Bushido)
They come out swinging! They clinch and Justin rips Jack to the mat. Jack has a triangle and Justin is defending. The ref has seen enough and stops the fight. I feel that was a little early.
Jack Maycock defeats Justin Perez via ref stoppage due to a cut at 1:54 in Round 1. Just got word that the ref stopped it due to the cut and not the triangle.
125 AM MMA Casey Norton (2-0 Ascensions) vs Ebrahim Aziz (1-2 Viver MMA)
Rd 1: Casey keeps switching his stances. Ebrahim slips but bounces back up. Ebrahim gets in a leg kick that makes Casey smile. Casey misses high with a kick. Ebrahim connects with a clean right.
Aziz 10-9
Rd 2: They are both swinging for the fences. Casey ducks under a punch and takes Ebrahim down. Ebrahim stands up and is looking for a single leg. Casey goes high with a kick. Ebrahim with two more leg kicks. Ebrahim gets a takedown right at the end.
Norton 10-9
Rd 3: Casey eats a leg kick and gets a takedown. They are both standing up and Ebrahim has the leg. Ebrahim rushes in and Casey knocks him to the mat with a punch. Ebrahim is fine and pops right back up. Casey is trying for the single leg and gets it. Casey has the side and is trying for full mount. He gets pushed back and gets in some punches before the round ends.

Rd 3: Jon gets in a punch and Julian takes him down with a slam. Julian is working some ground and pound. Jon bucks Julian and off and they are back to their feet.

Rd 1 Ayala comes out guns blazing. Crystal hip tosses her to the mat. Sam stands back up and Crystal takes her back. Crystal is trying for rear naked choke. She can’t get it and Sam turns. Crystal is still controlling from full mount. Sam gives up her back again and Crystal is softening her up with punches as the round ends.

Rd 2: Sam connects with a right that stuns Crystal. Crystal grabs hold of her and recovers. Crystal dives for the takedown but can’t get it. Crystal gets the takedown and is in guard. Crystal gets in some ground and pound. Crystal has the back as the round ends.

Rd 3: Ant gets in a combo and Jessen reverses. Jessen is trying to trip Tony for the takedown but can’t get it. Jessen gets the takedown and has Ant’s back. He is trying to hook the legs. Ant stands back up and they are back to their feet. Jessen connects with an uppercut. Tony picks Jessen up but somehow Jessen stays standing.

155 AM MMA TITLE Nuridiin Abrar (2-1 Boston BJJ) vs Brian Cosco (5-9 Sityodtong)
Rd 1: Brian gets the double leg takedown and Nuri pops right back up. Brian has a standing arm triangle. Nuri gets out and they are back to the center. Nuri connects with a kick to the ribs and Brian drops to the mat hurt. Nuri gets in a few more punches and the ref stops the fight.

Connor goes high with some kicks. Connor ducks under a punch and slams Gary to the mat. Gary gets back up and Connor slams him to the mat again. Connor gets in a combo and gets Gary to the mat. Connor is pounding him with heavy elbows. Connor has Gary in the crucifix and is dropping huge elbows. Ref has seen enough.
Connor Barry defeats Gary Edwards via tko stoppage to strikes at 3:50 in Round 1. Connor announces at the end of the fight that he broke his arm and still finished it. What a beast!! Heal up fast bro.
