Results:Chris Manley won by TKO over Jose Valentin
showed up a bit late....sorry, missed this one.
Fred Belleton won by TKO over Fernando Rivera
missed this one too....we were surprised they started right on time???
Josh Laberge won by decision over Barrington Douse
sat down about midway through the 1st rd. Both guys were in good shape, and were throwing hard when we arrived. Both spent time on top of the other, and the stand up was really close. I belive Laberge ended the final round in top position, and that probably helped earn him the close decision. It was a great fight to start our night.
Kym Sturdivant won TKO over Jason Oneil (Oneil did not answer the bell)
Sturdivant doesn't look in the best of shape, but I hear he's new, and looks to have some decent skill already. I don't remember a ton from this fight...(I think the Jager-bombs were kicking in.)
Reggie Higgins won by TKO over Jesus Ortis
Reggie had a big following at the show, and certainly was a crowd favorite. He was a specimen....huge guy, and jacked as hell! He came out swinging, and Ortiz didn't have a chance. I knew when one good one connected, it would be over. Higgins pounded him out shortly after the first minute expired in the first.
Karen Grigoryan won by KO over Daniel Rial
Karen was all business in this one. He started with some heavy shots on the feet, and took it to the ground. From there he got full mount and worked some nice ground and pound for the ref stoppage midway through the 1st round.
Alex Davis won by submission over Margarita Kolmykova
The one female fight of the night. Alex looked sick!! She wasted no time taking the fight to the ground to show off her awesome BJJ. This one ended early in the 1st with I believe a rear naked choke.
Luis Palomino won by unanimous decision over Marc Stevens
This one was for the light-weight belt. It was a 5 round war, that was awarded to Palimino by decision. A couple rounds were close, but I feel Stevens was robbed!! He took Palimino down, time after time, and worked good ground and pound, and stayed busy. These things happen when things are left to the judges...(as we know!!!)
Shamkhal Kerimov won by submission over Ryan Griffith
slick arm-bar submission by the Russian fighter early in the first.
Charlie Brennaman won by TKO over Yanish Dimitry
Brennaman was another crowd fave, and got some big cheers. I believe he took this fight on short notice, and got the ref stoppage for the win.
This was a great night of fights!! There wasn't a bad seat in the house, the lighting and sound were great, and there were some really good fights!! we really look forward to having some Team Ravenous fighters on some future cards! Thanks to the USFL for the great seats!!
