(pictured: KICK International commissioner Louis Thouin weighs Jacob "the Mule" Smith)Team Ravenous amateur fighter Jacob "The Mule" Smith weighed in at 134lbs., coming in one pound under the bantam weight limit of 135lbs. This was Jake's first cut to 135lbs, and he worked hard, and did what he had to do to make weight. I'm very proud of this, and told him that the hard part is now over.
Tomorrow night, the Mule will fight Chris "red" Strout, from Combat Athletix out of Maine. Strout was still in route at the time we weighed-in, and Jake was more interested in re hydrating and eating, than to wait around for an hour to see his opponent weigh in. I did however contact Premier FC matchmaker Jason Franklin, and confirmed that Strout did indeed arrive, and weighed in at 135lbs.
We are really looking forward to a great fight, and subsequent big win out of the Mule!!! See you tomorrow night at the Hippodrome in Springfield, for Premier FC 1!! Doors open at 7:00, first fight at 8:00pm. Get there early for the best seats/view. I hope to see a sea of Ravenous blue shirts out there!!
