1. When and Why did you get into MMA??
I first started training when I was 14 when SSSF was still in Whitman. One of my good friends and his dad convinced me to try out a class, and I was in love with it ever since. I wanted to lose some weight and get into better shape, and eventually decided that I wanted to fight.

2. Do you have a background in martial arts, boxing , wrestling etc?
Ever since I started training I learned MMA. My coaches didn't focus on one specific style, but instead had me training all aspects of MMA from the beginning.

4. What are your ultimate goals in the sport?
I don't really picture myself making a career out of fighting, but mostly do it for fun and to test myself. I hope to go pro someday on the local scene and be successful, but don't really have any major plans for going anywhere too big in the sport.

5. What do you think about your next opponent?
I don't know too much about Eddie but I know he's definitely a tough dude. He trains at a highly respected muay thai gym so I'm guessing that he's going to want keep it standing. I imagine he wants the belt badly just like I do, so I'm sure its to be a great fight.

6. How do you see the fight going/being finished?
If everything goes my way, I'll have the belt at the end of the night. I'm not expecting it to be easy though, I'm
going to try to finish the fight any way I can, and finish it quickly just like in all of my other fights.

7. What weight do you walk at/how much do you cut to
I walk around at around 155, so I usually cut about 10lbs.

8. What's your favorite part about fighting?
Winning is by far the best part. You train your ass off in the gym and then it finally pays off when the ref raises your hand at the end of the fight.

9. What's the worst part about fighting?
Cutting weight. The sauna is not a good time haha

10. Anyone locally or in the big's that you really would love to fight, and why?
I don't really have anyone specific in mind, I'm not the type to talk trash or call people out. Id be interested in fighting the top featherweights just to test myself.

11. What do you feel is your best weapon in your fights?
I feel comfortable standing or on the group, so I don't really know what my best weapon is. I like my stand up more, but I'm cool with wherever the fight goes.

12. What is your favorite foods that you miss while cutting weight??
I'd have to say steaks, pizza, & ice cream haha

13. What is your most memorable moment to date in MMA??
My first MMA fight by far. My father passed away the day before my first fight, so I was going through a lot of personal stuff at the time.I still fought though and was able to win in the 1st round via arm bar. I've never felt more accomplished in my life, and everyone was supportive & proud of me.

14. How else do you spend your time when you are not training??
I love to spend time with my family and friends. When I'm not training or working I usually like to just relax. I'm also a college student so I'm usually pretty busy haha

15. What do you do for a living besides fighting??
I work part time at Stop & Shop which isn't too fun. Like I said I go to college and I'm a Molecular Biology/BioMed major. I hope to have a career in the medical field once I get my degree in the future.

I just want to thank my coaches Scott Lockhart and Bill Mahoney and all of my training partners at SSSF (too many to name). Without them I'd still be the uncoordinated fat kid that walked into the old gym in Whitman haha! Also I want to thank my mom & sister, friends, and awesome girlfriend for supporting me and always being at my fights. Thank you WesternmassMMA for the interview!
