Warrior Nation Xtreme Fighters Alliance VII 11/15/2013 Teaser

The wait is finally over and another Warrior Nation mixed martial arts show is coming to Chicopee Massachusetts.  It will be at the Hu Ke Lau where fight fans can dine and watch their favorite fighters pummel each other in the cage.  Jesse Camp and the rest of WNXFA crew have been working around the clock to ensure that this show will be perfect and at the quality Warrior Nation fans come to expect.  The doors open at 6pm and the fights start around 7pm.  It features 8 action packed fights for the evening.  As always the beautiful Warrior Nation Ring Girls will be in attendance!  There will be a 50/50 raffle where the money is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.  This marks the 3 year anniversary for Warrior Nation and to make it even more celebratory at midnight, Jesse Camp turns 40.  Let me break down the card for you.

145lbs Joe Leonard (Team Ravenous 1-2) vs. Jesus Santiago (Strike Zone MMA 1-1)

For the first fight of the evening Joe Leonard takes on Jesus Santiago at 145lbs.  Joe is not only co-owner of WesternMassMMA.com, he is also a fighter.  He trains with Team Ravenous out of Greenfield Mass and comes into this fight with a 1-2 record.  He lost his first two fights from first round stoppages, one by submission and one by ref stoppages to strikes.  He fought at the last Warrior Nation in July and won with a knockout punch against Chris Walker.  He is looking to continue on his winning ways and to finish off the year with a 2-2 record.  His opponent Jesus is from Strike Zone MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  I wasn't able to find much info on Jesus but I can tell you this will be an exciting fight to kick off the night.

170lbs Mikey Sweet (Team Link Noho 0-0) vs. John LaMontagne (Independent 0-1)

At 170lbs Mikey Sweet takes on John LaMontagne.  Mikey is from Team Link Northampton and will be making his amateur debut.  Being from Team Link and training with John Manley you know he will be ready for sure.  John is an independent fighter and is also a veteran so you know he is prepared for battle.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record and is still hungry for his first taste of amateur victory.  He lost to a ref stoppage to strikes in Rd 1 at the last Warrior Nation against Connor Barry.  I expect this battle to be a ground battle and I am excited to see Mikey make his debut.

135 lbs Alex Vinarsky (GFV 0-0) vs. Jecksan Tirado(NE Combat 0-0)

Next up Alex Vinarsky will face off in the cage against Jecksan Tirado at 135lbs.  Alex  is from Gracie Farmington Valley and will be making his amateur debut.  Jecksan is from NE Combat and is also making his amateur debut.  These are two great schools and no doubt will be ready to put on a show.  I expect both of them to be very well versed in no matter where this fight goes.

145lbs Shawn O'Dou (Team Ravenous 0-0) vs. Kevin Aurelien (Calasanz MMA 0-0)

Shawn O'Dou will be fighting Kevin Aurelien at 145lbs.  Shawn is from Team Ravenous in Greenfield Mass and will be making his amateur debut.  Shawn has been impressive throughout his 8 weeks of fight camp and established many skills that will aid him in this fight.  Kevin is from Calasanze MMA and will also be making his amateur debut.  This is the second fight of the evening where both fighters are making their amateur debut.  The best thing about that is that you really can't predict who will win because you don't know what to expect.  One thing you will see immediately evident is the height differences of the fighters.  Shawn is 5'6" and Kevin checks in at 6'1".  Both men know what has to be done, but you'll have to wait and see how they do it.

140 lbs Steve Karr (GFV 0-1) vs. Allen Edgecomb (Shaolin Kempo 1-1-1)

At a catchweight of 140lbs Steve Karr will take on Allen Edgecomb.  Allen was first supposed to fight Matthew Reams but unfortunately he got injured and was no longer able to fight.  WNXFA looked near and far and thankfully Steve Karr stepped up on one weeks notice.  Steve is from Gracie Farmington Valley and has an 0-1 record.  He fought at the last Warrior Nation and lost a ref stoppage to strikes against Nhel Theam.  Allen is from Shaolin Kempo and has a 1-1-1 record.  He has fought all of his fights for Warrior Nation.  He lost his first fight due to armbar.  He fought Nhel Theam and that fight was ruled a no contest due to an accidental eye poke.  They then rematched and Allen won the very close battle and came home with the W by decision.  That fight was very exciting, non stop action and I expect the same thing in this fight.

125lbs Dan Krall (Battle Crew MMA 1-0) vs. Tim Flores (Legal Beatdown 1-1)

For the last fight before the main events Dan Krall squares off against Tim Flores at 125lbs.  Dan is from Battle Crew MMA and has a 1-0 record.  He won by first round guillotine against Matt Bergen at Premier FC back in April.  He looked very good and ready for anything that day.  He will be looking to continue his winning ways.  His opponent Tim is from Legal Beatdown and has a 1-1 record.  He fought both of his fights for Premier FC in Western Mass.  He lost his first battle in an all out war against Nick Pallini.  He then bounced back and won a decision against Joe Martinez.  This fight has fight of the night written all over it!  I can't wait for this one.  Tim is has been working hard all year on all facets of his game.  Recently he's taken home some impressive hardware from the Ammo Grappling Tourneys held in CT.  Joe and Shawn made the trek to help Tim and his teammate Matt Reams in the early weeks of their respective camps where the group of fighters took their games up to the next level.  Look for the Beatdown Crew's frontman and founder Shaun Gilday cageside as well as assistant striking and MMA coach Master Will.  They are working hard for their fighters.

Heavywt Ray Miclette (NE Combat 2-0) vs. Ed Nook (CT United BJJ 0-0)

For the co main event the heavyweights go to battle!  Ray Miclette from NE Combat takes on Ed Nook.  Ray comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  He won his first fight at AFO against Brandon Newman by tko to strikes in Rd 2.  He then won again against Juan Canel via tko to strikes in Rd 1.  As you can see he has heavy fists and knows how to use them to his advantage.  I remember the fights and he controlled his opponent on the ground very well and had good ground and pound.  Ed is from CT United BJJ and will be making his amateur debut.  Being from a BJJ school, I think it is safe to say he will be good on the ground so this should be a battle for sure. Now onto the main event!!

185lbs Garret Kuli (GFV 1-0) vs. Max Evans (Strikezone MMA 1-0)

For the main event Garret Kulik takes on Max Evans at 185lbs.  Garret is from Gracie Farmington Valley and has a 1-0 record.  Garret fought at the first Warrior Nation event back in 2011 and won by decision against Frank Falso.  Max is from Strikezone MMA and also has a 1-0 record.  He won his first fight with a 12 second knockout over Leo Powers back at WNXFA V.  As we already know Max has knockout power which could be trouble for Garret if he is not careful.  Garrett will probably want to take Max to ground and test him on the ground.  Both fighters know this is the main event so no doubt they will want to bring it and show the Warrior Nation fans that they belong at the top of the fight cards!

That wraps up this teaser for Warrior Nation VII.  As you have read the card has some solid match ups on it and there are no clear cut winners.  Jesse Camp has never had from my recollection any one sided fights and there are no dead giveaways.  In my opinion that is one of his selling points and why the fans keep coming back to the Hu Ke Lau.  Well, we all know Warchild only goes for the Warrior Nation Ring girls but he is an exception.  I will be there writing the live play by play and Warchild will be there taking photos.  This will be there last show of the year and they will want to go out with a bang so you don't want to miss this show.
