An apprentice of MMA icon Joe Lauzon, Carrier has two words for his return to the CES MMA cage this summer: “Don’t blink!”
“It’s two guys who like to stand in the center and just throw bombs,” he added. “I have a technical edge on him. I’m going to be a lot smarter, and that’s how I’m going to get the win.”
Carrier is coming off a first-round TKO win at #CES35, and he plans on stealing the show again at CES MMA 37.
His opponent agrees this bout has Fight-of-the-Night potential. But Barry, who’s coming off a victory in his pro debut, sees the action playing out a little differently.
“Devin is a warrior. I’m a warrior. We’re both 21-year-old kids. And we’re both ready to throw down,” said Barry with a chuckle. “If this fight goes three rounds, it’ll be an absolute war. But I can end it standing up or on the ground, and I can’t wait to put another stoppage on my record and move up that CES MMA ladder.”
CES MMA 37 also features three CES MMA Championship bouts: #Woonsocket’s Andre “The Asian Sensation” Soukhamthath collides with #Boston’s Kin “Kong” Moy for the Bantamweight Championship, #Hartford’s Matt “The Mangler” Bessette squares up with #Gloucester’s Pedro “The Beast” Gonzalez for the Featherweight Championship, and #Providence's Greg “Ribz” Rebello throws down with #Arizona's Ashley “Gio” Gooch, for the Heavyweight Championship.
