Manchester, NH (June 26, 2017)- It will be all-out war when Wilfredo “The Brown Bomber” Santiago and Ray “Relentless” Shawdee, who are two titans of the New England professional MMA ranks and rising stars, climb into the cage for the co-main event of Combat Zone 62 “Legendary” on Friday night June 30 the Downtown Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH.
Santiago (7-4), who hails from Lawrence, MA and trains with national and international stars of the UFC at the famed Jackson Wink Gym in Albuquerque, NM, returns to his regional roots to get back on the winning track when he and Shawdee meet at catch-weight of 174 pounds.
Santiago, who is rated as the No. 2 welterweight and the No. 3 middleweight in New England by the website massmma.com, last time out saw his four-fight win streak snapped by No. 1 ranked welterweight Chris Curtis via a main event second round TKO in Curtis’ title defense for promoter CES.

Shawdee (5-2), a Lowell, MA native and the head coach and owner of New England Top Team in Windham, NH, has never lost in the Combat Zone cage in five career bouts and is riding a four-fight winning streak in both pro MMA and kickboxing.
In his last three fights- CZ 60, CZ 59, and CZ 54- Shawdee dispensed with respected opponents Crowsneck Boutin, Ricky Sylvester and Buck Pineau, in terrific kickboxing contests that showcased his considerable skills and trademark toughness.

Nonetheless, when it comes to technique and toughness, Santiago is a formidable and worthy foe.
Both fighters have hands of steel capable of landing knockout blows, and each can take a punch that would be “lights out” for a lesser man. This three-round event promises plenty of thrills, excitement and action, looks to last the distance, and shapes up as a Combat Zone classic.
The Santiago-Shawdee fight also has the potential to move up to the main event on the stacked 17-fight card as the legendary UFC fighter Drew Fickett, who was the opponent of Lucas “Golden Boy” Cruz (9-4), had to drop out due to an unfortunate and ill-timed injury. At press time, the matchmaker was trying to arrange for a suitable substitute to face the charismatic Cruz, who notched a sensational second-round victory in Combat Zone 61 in his last fight as he continues his dramatic comeback.
Other can’t miss fights on the card include Amherst, NH’s Vovka “KGB” Clay (5-2) vs. Taylor Trahan (6-7) from Littleton, NH in a pro MMA battle at 155 pounds, the battle between former amateur champions Shawn Melanson (3-1) of Manchester, NH and Brendon Marotte (5-2) from Hampstead, NH at 160 pounds, and a tilt between warriors Jack Greene (2-4) from Amesbury, NH and Hanover, MA’s Thomas Lee Davis (3-1) in an amateur MMA match at 195 pounds.
Last out in Combat Zone 61, Davis lost his first career fight in an unpopular and razor thin split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) to Martin Thompson for the Amateur Welterweight Championship in a memorable performance that earned the packed crowd’s respect and a standing ovation for both men.

Doors at the Radisson Hotel’s Armory Room open at 5:30 PM and the first fight begins at 7:00 PM. The weigh-in, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Title Boxing Gym on Manchester’s South Elm Street, beginning at 6:00 PM.

Ticket prices for the fights begin at $40 for general admission, and range from $50, $60, $90 to $120 for ringside seating and may be purchased by calling co-promoter Jamison Kattar at 978-361-6772 or visiting the website at www.czmma.com. Tehre is discount ticketing for groups of 10 or more.
