New England Fights is back this Saturday with their 35th show!  This one will be taking place in Bangor Maine at the Cross Insurance Center.  The doors will be opening at 6pm and the first fight is set to take place at 7pm.  This event is all mixed martial arts and there will be a total of 15 fights.  Out of the 15 fights, 6 of them will be pro and there will be 1 amateur title fight.  Warchild and I will be making the long trek up north to cover the event for you all.  In the meantime let me break down the fight card in its entirety.  Please keep in mind that the fights are subject to change but this should be very accurate.

160 AM Andrew Brown 0-0 (Nostos) vs Chris Lachcik 0-0 (Independent)

The first fight will be at 160 lbs between Andrew Brown and Chris Lachcik.  Brown trains with Nostos MMA and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Chris Lachcik and he is an independent fighter.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Nostos guys always bring it so this should be a good start to kick off the night.

145 AM Shawn Costigan 0-0 (Young’s MMA) vs David Hills 0-0 (Independent)

Then at 145 lbs Shawn Costigan will be taking on David Hills.  Costigan trains out of Young's MMA and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is David Hills and he is an independent fighter.  He will also be making his amateur debut.  Two new fighters looking to show the Maine fans what they got!

155 AM Jesse Fitzsimmons 0-0 (Nostos) vs AJ Morales 0-0 (Orchard Park Martial Arts)

Then at 155 lbs Jesse Fitzsimmons will be facing off against AJ Morales.  Jesse trains with Nostos MMA and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is AJ Morales and he trains with Orchard Park Martial Arts.  He will also be making his amateur debut.

145 AM Joe Howard 1-0 (CMBJJ) vs Jordan Young 0-1 (Independent)

At 145 lbs Joe Howard will be taking on Jordan Young.  Howard trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first fight by submission and would love to get another W this Saturday.  His opponent is Jordan Young and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his 1 loss by decision.  This should be a good battle as Young has proven he can go the distance but he will have to be careful if this one goes to the ground cause we all know how slick those CMBJJ guys are on the mat.

265 AM Roger Ewer 1-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Jason Hanley 0-0 (Orchard Park Martial Arts)

Then in the heavyweight division Roger Ewer will be squaring off against Jason Hanley.  Ewer trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko in Round 2 and NEF 30.  His opponent is Jason Hanley and he trains with Orchard Park Martial Arts.  Hanley will be making his amateur debut.  Not much can be said to critique this one but Hanley better bring his A game as Ewer as already proven he has the hands to win.

150 AM Taylor Bartlett 1-1 (CMBJJ) vs Jacob Deppmeyer 1-1 (First Class MMA)

Next up is at 150 lbs Taylor Bartlett will be taking on Jacob Deppmeyer.  Taylor trains with CMBJJ and steps into this fight with a 1-1 record.  In the win column, he won by ko/tko in Rd 1 and lost 1 fight by submission.  His opponent is Jacob Deppmeyer and he trains with First Class MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko to strikes and 1 loss by triangle.  With both fighters records being identical you can't get a much closer matched fight than this.

155 AM Zac Richards 1-0 (Nostos) vs Clifford Redman 0-5 (Independent)

At 155 lbs Zac Richards will be facing Clifford Redman.  Richards trains with Nostos MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He has his sole win by ko/tko in Round 1.  His opponent is Clifford Redman and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-5 record with 2 losses by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  Redman is still hungry and looking for his first taste of victory.  This should be another good fight.

170 AM David Hart 0-3 (Kenney’s MMA) vs Christian Barrett 1-0 (First Class MMA)

At 170 lbs David Hart takes on Christian Barrett.  Hart trains with Kenney's MMA and he comes into this fight with an 0-3 record.  He lost 1 fight by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His opponent is Christian Barrett and he trains with First Class MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko.  Barrett has the will to win so we will have to see if he does it once again this Saturday.

155 AM TITLE Pat Kelly 4-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Ed Forlenza 2-2 (Juniko)

Pat Kelly steps into the cage one last time against Ed Forlenza to defend his 155 amateur title.  Kelly trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with an undefeated 4-0 record.  Pat defies odds doing what he does at 53 years old and has 2 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 1 win by decision.  He knows what is at stake and wants to go out on top with a win and the belt intact.  His opponent is Ed Forlenza and he is from Juniko.  He comes into this fight with a 2-2 record with 1 win by tko and 1 win by submission.  For his losses, he lost both by way of submission.  Ed is traveling north and he isn't coming all that way for a loss so we know he is gonna bring it.  This fight is going to be a ground battle and I hope it will be a back and forth on.  I see this one being a potential fight of the night candidate.

145 PRO Zenon Herrera 1-6 (Team SMOG) vs Ernesto Ornelas 3-7 (Choi Institute)

In the first pro fight of the night Zenon Herrera will be taking on Ernesto Ornelas at 145 lbs.  Zenon trains with Team SMOG and comes into this fight with a 1-6 record.  His one win came by way of decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  His opponent is Ernie Ornelas and he trains with Choi Institute and comes into this fight with a 3-7 record.  In the win column he won 1 by ko/tko and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 5 by submission.  Both fighters are riding high with wins in their last fight and they are going to bring it.  I see this one being a ground battle and if I had to pick how it would end I think Ernie is going to get his first submission win as a pro.

155 PRO Josh Harvey 4-0 (Young’s MMA) vs Jay Ellis 15-77 (Team Knockout)

At 155 lbs Josh Harvey is back against Jay Ellis.  Harvey trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His opponent is Jay Ellis and he trains with Team Knockout.  He comes into this fight with 15-77 record most of his wins by submission.  I have seen Jay Ellis fight many times in New England and he always comes out strong and then makes a mistake or he gets tired and ends up losing.  He has lost to his last 8 opponents in New England and I don't see him winning this fight with a game opponent as Harvey.  Harvey is a solid fighter and I hope after this one to see him fight a fighter with a winning record which he hasn't done yet in  his pro career.  I see Harvey winning this one Rd 1 by submission rear naked choke.

155 PRO CJ Ewer 3-1 (Young’s MMA) vs  Caleb Hall 1-0 (Choi Insistute)

Then at 155 lbs CJ Ewer will be facing off against Caleb Hall.  Ewer trains with Young's MMA and he comes into this fight with a 3-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His only loss came by submission to Kemran Lachinov at NEF 32.  His opponent is Caleb Hall and he trains with Choi Institute.  Caleb comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with a submission win against John Ortolani at NEF 33.  This fight is going to a war when both of these butt heads.  I see this one being a back and forth battle on the ground and definitely a fight of the night contender.

185 PRO Crowsneck Boutin 2-3 (Bad Little Falls Dojo) vs Mark Gardner 0-0 (The Academy)

At 185 lbs Crowsneck Boutin returns to the NEF cage against Mark Gardner.  Boutin trains with Bad Little Falls Dojo and comes into this fight with a 2-3 record.  For his wins he has 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost all 3 by way of submission.  His opponent is Mark Gardner and he trains out of The Academy.  He will be making his pro debut and as an amateur went 3-0.  As an amateur he won 1 by ko/tk oand 2 by submission.  Mark comes out like a bat out of hell and overpowers his opponents so Boutin is going to have to survive that if he wants to win this fight.  I DO NOT see this one going the distance and who doesn't love to see a good finish!

170 PRO Ryan Sanders 16-9 (Young’s MMA) vs Armando Montoya 10-6 (First Class MMA)

In the co main event Ryan Sanders will be facing Armando Montoya at 170 lbs.  Sanders trains with of course Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 16-9 record.  Sanders has most of his wins by submission but really is dangerous anywhere in the cage and a seasoned veteran with 25 fights in his pro career.  He has been in many wars and no doubt will be more than ready for another one.  His opponent is Armando Montoya and he trains with First Class MMA.  Montoya comes into this fight with a 10-6 record 1 by ko/tko, 7 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 5 by ko/tko and 1 by split decision.  Montoya is a game opponent who has fought 16 fights so far in his pro career.  I see this one being a stand up war and the NEF fans are in for a real treat to see this one!

155 PRO Aaron Lacey 5-2 (Young’s MMA) vs Jon Lemke 7-8 (Titan Athletics)

The main event has Aaron Lacey against Jon Lemke in a 155 lb showdown.  Lacey trains with Young's MMA and comes into this fight with a 5-2 record.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 1 by split decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by doctor stoppage and 1 by decision.  Lacey is always ready to take on a tough opponent Lemke is as tough as they come.  Lemke trains with Titan Athletics and comes into this fight with a 7-8 record.  For his wins he has 5 ko/tko and 2 by way of decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 5 by submission and 2 by decisions.  Lemke is riding high off a big win at CES against Josh LaBerge who was 11-6 at the time.  He will be looking to use that momentum into this fight.  I see this one being a stand up battle and I think if Lacey can get this fight to the mat he can control it into his favor.  I know I have said it a few times but this is going to be a fun one and a fight of the night contender.

Well that puts the end to my write up and I hope you all enjoyed it.  If you did please show the website some love by sharing online and with your friends and family.  As always Warchild and I will be around the cage for this one so come say Hi!  Special thanks to Matt Peterson, Nick DiSalvo and the entire NEF family for their support and love of the website.
