HOWLAND RETURNING TO MAINE TO FACE ROSADO AT NEF 41

Megan Rosado
[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (September 23, 2019) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine on November 9, 2019 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 41: Collision Course.”  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur women’s bantamweight bout to the card.  Megan Rosado (3-1) is scheduled to face Andrea “Renegade” Howland (2-1) at a fight weight of 135 pounds.

After losing her debut to top prospect Glory Watson (6-0) at “NEF 36” in November 2018, Megan Rosado has been on a roll, winning her last three in a row.  In her second bout, she won a split decision over Amanda Bennett (0-2) last spring at “NEF 38” in Portland.  This past summer, Rosado defeated Sarai Knapp (0-1) at “NEF 39” in Lewiston, Maine via technical knockout in the first round.  And, most recently, she was victorious over Rachel Reinheimer (2-3) on a fight card in Massachusetts, again by first round technical knockout.  Rosado represents Evolution Athletix of Saco, Maine.

“I’m excited to be back fighting in the NEF cage,” said Rosado. “We’ve always been fortunate enough in getting an opponent with this venue, which is really awesome. So thank you to Matt (Peterson, NEF co-owner and matchmaker) and my coach Nate (Libby, head coach of Evolution Athletix) for getting me a matchup! I’ve never officially met Andrea before, but I was there when she fought Taylor Thompson at NEF in April. Andrea’s definitely a well-rounded fighter and she fights pretty tight. I’m excited to fight someone with similar skill as me. It’s always a great fight when both girls are comfortable everywhere in the cage, and I have no doubt we’re both going to throw down and put on a show for y’all! November 9th can’t come fast enough. I’m coming for that fourth win in a row, LFG!”

Andrea Howland
Andrea Howland last appeared in the NEF cage this past April when she challenged for the vacant NEF Amateur Women’s Bantamweight Title against Taylor Thompson (4-1).  Howland will be looking to bounce back from her loss that evening.  She won her first two MMA bouts in 2018, both by decision.  Howland fights out of Walled, Michigan and represents Michigan Top Team based in Southfield, Michigan.

"I am beyond excited to return to Maine to fight again for NEF,” said Howland when reached for comment.  “I had an amazing experience in my last appearance and despite the loss, I believe I've grown the most since my last fight at Aura. Megan Rosado is a committed competitor, and I made a vow to no longer even pursue easy fights let alone book them, so she's exactly the challenge I have been looking for. I believe she is a natural athlete and shows a lot of promise as a top bantamweight prospect. I think our matchup will be an exciting one for the fans. I am looking forward to a tough training camp to prepare once again to put on a show in front of the awesome NEF fans."

New England Fights' next mixed-martial-arts event, "NEF 41: Collision Course," will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Aura in Portland, Maine. Tickets are on sale now at www.auramaine.com.
