Portland, Maine (January 11, 2020) – New England Fights (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, "NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction," on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Carl Langston (0-4) will meet Jacob Deppmeyer (0-0) at a fight weight of 145-pounds.
Initially, Langston was scheduled to face Dom Jones (2-3). Jones, however, was forced to pull out of the bout due to a previous medical suspension issued after a loss last fall at “Bellator 232” in Connecticut.

As noted by Langston, Jacob Deppmeyer is indeed a teammate of Dom Jones at First Class MMA in Brunswick, Maine. Deppmeyer made his amateur debut in the NEF cage in February 2017. He holds a notable win over Glenn Kasabian (2-3) via first-round technical knockout at “NEF 28.” Deppmeyer also fought to a draw in a very competitive bout against Taylor Bartlett (2-2-1) at “NEF 35” in Bangor. Most recently, he dropped a hard-fought decision to Devin Corson (3-1) last September at “NEF 40.”
“I feel going pro will open a few more opportunities that I’m excited about exploring,” said Deppmeyer. “This is my debut, something I will remember the rest of my life, so I’m going to put on a show. I have my teammates and my coaches grinding right there beside me. With them, I’m going to accomplish something that was once just a thought!”
