Springfield Mass is popping tonight with a ton of traffic. Must be because Premier FC is in town. We quickly found our parking at the casino parking garage and found our way into the Mass Mutual Center. We saw our friends Alan Lau, Steve Rita, Dave Ginsberg, Tommy Vickers and Flano who says I always forget to put his name in the intro!! There was a band playing at the beginning of the event which played some of my favorite 90’s grunge and punk songs. Karyn hooked me up with seats right next to the commentators, Mark Coleman, Matt Hughes and the one and only Nick Newell. There is a sold out crowd with 2500 total. The grappling ref is Vinicius De Jesus and the mma refs are Steve Rita and Tom Scanzo. Follow along as I recap the night.

Ron comes out throwing kicks. Many of them connected. Kevin rushes in and gets caught with a punch. Kevin rushes in and gets the double leg takedown and is now in guard. Kevin gets in a heavy hammer fist. He gets in a few more punches to the head and then follows it up to the body. Some blood is forming around Kevin’s eye. Ron pushes him off and they are back to their feet. Kevin dumps Ron to the mat as the round ends.
Hampton 10-9
Rd 2: Ron starts the round off with a kick to the body. Ron with a combo and then slips to the mat. Ron is looking for an armbar and is cranking on it. Kevin rolls and is out and has the side. Ron slips out and gets to full mount. He is looking to posture up and get in some ground and pound. He gets in about 5 punches before the round ends.
Roman 10-9
Rd 3: Kevin slips with a kick and Ron pounces. He is in north south position. He gets pushed off and passes to full mount. Roman is dropping bombs from the top. He gets pushed off and they scramble. Roman takes his back and works a rear naked choke for the tap.

HVY AM Gage Capen (1-2 Independent) vs. Max Lombardo (0-0 Cage JSA)
Gage goes for a takedown and has the single leg. He doesn’t get it and Max makes him pay with some heavy hands. He gets the stoppage.

135 AM Jessen Ramcharan (Gracie 1-1) vs. Broderick Matticks (1-1 Thornton)
They both rush in and fall to the mat. Jessen tries for a takedown and is stuffed. He eats a knee to the body. He dives for another takedown and gets punched on the way down. Jessen goes for another takedown and gets it. Matticks is trying to stand up and Jessen scoops him back down. Jessen has the back and is looking for the rear naked choke. Broderick gets out and stands back to his feet. Jessen gets Broderick back to the mat and is once again on his back. He gets the tap.

Brandon is coming out swinging hard. Brandon connects with a head kick and Isaac is out cold.

They collide and Crossi gets in a right. Bagley follows it up with a combo. They clinch and Bagley gets in an uppercut. Bagley with another combo to the body then head. Jake is pressing Crossi up against the cage. Crossi is trying for a standing guillotine as the round ends.
Bagley 10-9
Rd 2: Crossi gets in a right to start us off. Bagley with a nice right of his own. Crossi is now pressing Bagley up against the cage. Bagley pushes him off and they are back to the center. Crossi with a good 1-2 combo. Crossi with another combo and Bagley follows it up with an overhand right. Bagley is now pressing Crossi up against the cage. Crossi reverses and when the break he gets in a punch.
Crossi 10-9
Rd 3: Bagley with an overhand right. Crossi with a 1-2 combo. Crossi gets in another combo as Bagley rushes in. Crossi is now pressing Bagley up against the cage. Crossi leg sweeps Bagley to the mat and gets in two hammerfists. Bagley bounces back up and is now being pressed up against the cage. They break from the clinch with a knee from Crossi. Crossi connects with a punch and a kick that rocks Bagley. He gets in some punches and bunches for the ref stoppage.
Guillherme Crossi defeats Jake Bagley via tko stoppage to strikes at 2:59 in Round 3. Crossi is now the Premier FC 125 lb amateur champ.
145 AM TITLE Zac Richard (Nostos 6-2) vs. Yorrick Anderson (Radical MMA 2-0)
Zac connects with right to start us off. They collide to the mat and sprawl their way back up. Zac dives for a single leg and Yorrick defends it. Zac gets him to the mat and Yorrick has half butterfly. Zac gets kicked off and gets to the side. They are back to their feet and Yorrick trips him to the mat. Yorrick gets in a few punches as the round ends.
Real close round and could go either way.
Rd 2: Zac tries for a takedown Yorrick misses with a knee to the head. They break and Zac gets in an uppercut. Yorrick gets in a teep kick and Zac counters. Yorrick with a 1-2 combo. They clinch and Zac is looking for the double leg. Yorrick defends it briefly but Zac gets it as the round ends.
Anderson 10-9 but pretty close once again
Rd 3: Yorrick gets in a snapping leg kick to the body. He follows it up with another one. Zac goes for a takedown but is stuffed. Yorrick with another clean kick to the body. Yorrick with another combo that has Zac backed up against the cage. Zac fires back with a kick and dives for the single leg. Zac gets Yorrick to the mat and is in half butterfly.
Anderson 10-9
Rd 4: Yorrick gets in an uppercut to start the round. Zac is looking for the takedown and has the single leg. He trips the other leg but Yorrick sprawls. Zac still has the single leg and Yorrick breaks free. Yorrick with a kick to the body. Zac dives for a takedown and Yorrick defends and punches him in the head. Yorrick with another outside leg kick. Zac’s leg looks sore and he keeps switching stances. Yorrick gets in a combo and has Zac backed up. Yorrick gets Zac to the mat and is looking for the d’arce. He can’t get it and they are back to their feet. Yorrick gets in a kick to the body as the round ends.
Anderson 10-9
Rd 5: They hug to start the round off. Yorrick gets in a kick. They go to mat and Yorrick gets full mount. He softens him up with some ground and pound and gets the ref stoppage.
Yorrick Anderson defeats Zac Richard via tko stoppage to strikes at 2:21 in Round 5. Yorrick becomes the 145 lb Premier FC champ.
170 AM TITLE Chris Almestica (Team Link 4-4) vs. Cameron Resnisky (The Cage 3-0)
Chris gets the takedown and Cam stands back up. Chris has one hook in and is on his back. Cam turns and is looking for the takedown. Cam grabs the cage again and ref says nothing. Cam gets the double leg and slams Chris to the mat. He covers and gets in punches in bunches and gets the stoppage.
Cameron Resnisky defeats Chris Almestica via ref stoppage to strikes at 1:30 in Round 1. Resnisky is now the 170 lb Premier FC amateur champ.
Premier FC is having a brief intermission. I hear Mark Coleman will not be commentating.
170 PRO Jason Showers (Disorderly Conduct 0-0) vs. Tim Tyler (American MMA 1-4)
Tim rushes in and gets in a right. He is looking for the takedown. Jason escapes and accidentally knees to the head. He takes about 3 minutes and the fight resumes. Jason goes high with a kick. Timmy fires back with a kick to the body. They collide and Jason is on top dropping bombs. Tim pushes him of and gets in a few punches of his own. The fight has settled down and Tim has the side. Tim gets pushed to the guard and Jason is trying for a triangle. He doesn’t quite have the triangle locked but gets in a nice elbow from the bottom. Timmy gets free and drops some bombs of his own. He passes to full mount and gets in some more hammerfists for the ref stoppage.
Tim Tyler defeats Jason Showers via tko stoppage to strikes at 3:42 in Round 1.
145 PRO Raymond Yanez (Top Dogg MMA 5-19 ) vs. Kenny Champion ( Golden Falcon 1-0)
Kenny goes high with a kick. Kenny gets the takedown and is in guard. Kenny is working some elbows. Kenny gets in some heavy ground and pound for the stoppage.
Kenny Champion defeats Raymond Yanez via tko stoppage to strikes at 1:50 in Round 1.
180 PRO Stephen Stengel (Independent 4-14 ) vs. Nick Alley (Team Link 5-3)
Nick grabs Stephen and takes him to the mat. Stephen sweeps and Nick reverses. He has full mount and is looking for an arm triangle. He gets the tap.

They clinch and then break. Larry is looking for the single leg but can’t get it. Ron gets in a knee to the body. Larry gets the double leg and has the side. Larry gets in one quick short elbow. Ron is trying to get up and Larry takes him right back to the mat. Larry is in half guard then moves to the side. He now has the crucifix briefly but Ron gets free. Ron turns and is trying to stand. Larry gets in some punches as the round ends.
Perna 10-9
Rd 2: They both get close and exchange punches. Larry is looking for the double leg and he gets it. Larry is getting in some short elbows from the top. Ron is at one knee and Larry rips him back down. Larry with two knees to the leg. Ron works his way back up and is trying for a guillotine and Larry pulls his head free. Larry gets pushed back and hit with an upkick before he dives back into the mat. Ron gets back up and Larry takes him back down once again. Larry is firing down elbows but they are mostly blocked as the round ends.
Perna 10-9
Rd 3: Ron with a left jab. Larry is pressing Ron up against the cage. Larry gets in a good combo and is now pressing Ron up against the cage. Larry gets in another combo and the crowd roars. They are both swinging and now Larry is pressing Ron up against the cage. Larry gets in a combo and gets the takedown. He gets in some more ground and pound and gets the stoppage.
Larry Perna defeats Ron Marshall via tko stoppage to strikes at 4:38 in Round 3.
145 PRO Lionel Young (Citadel 8-16) vs. Arslan Otchiyev ( Golden Falcon 1-2)
Arslan starts us off with a snapping leg kick. Arlsan is pressing Lionel up against the cage. He gets in a body shot then gets the double leg. Arslan has full mount and Lionel uses the cage and gets the top. Arlsan tries for an armbar and Lionel rolls out of it. Nice fight!! Lionel is on top throwing elbows.
Otchiyev 10-9
Rd 2: Arslan dives for the takedown. Lionel has a neck crank but can’t get the stoppage. Arslan is trying to take the back and he gets it. He is softening him up with some punches. He has the arm under the neck and gets the tap.

125 PRO TITLE Donnie Ballou (Alliance MMA 5-3) vs. Josh Ricci (Mohawk Valley 5-2)
They are both feeling each other out. Donnie connects with a right that drops Josh. Donnie works a d’arce for the tap.

225 PRO TITLE Ras Hylton (5-3 First Class) vs. Terrance Jean-Jacques (4-2 ATT )
Terrance gets the takedown and is in guard. Ras gets in some elbows from the bottom. Terrance is getting in some heavy ground and pound. He is now in half guard and then gets pushed back to guard. Ras pushes him off and and tries for an upkick. Terrance gets in some more ground and as the round ends.
Jean-Jacques 10-9
Rd 2: Terrance gets the double leg and is now in half guard. Ras is trying to stand up and Terrance is working his ground and pound. Terrance is looking for the rear naked choke and it looks wicked deep. He gets the tap.
Terrance Jean-Jacques defeats Ras Hylton via tapout to rear naked choke at 2:53 in Round 2. Terrance is now the new 225 lb Premier FC pro champion.
185 PRO TITLE Yu Ji (Radical MMA 2-0) vs. Pat Casey (Team Link/ Arvelo MMA 6-1)
Pat Casey gets in an inside leg kick. Yu connects with a right that has Pat hurt. Pat is still coming forward and Yu connects with another right that drops Pat again. Yu Ji connects with one more shot and the ref has seen enough.
Yu Ji defeats Pat Casey via ko at 46 seconds in Round 1. Very impressive!!

May 30th is the date for the next Premier FC at Mass Mutual Center. Mark your calendars. The fighters brought it tonight and the crowd had a blast. It was a sold out 2000+ people there and they were very loud at times. Shout out to Karyn Wesch from Premier FC and her entire team for all that they do. The production, video and sound was very well done and our seats were amazing. Reffing did an excellent job and for the first time in a while there were no decisions at all!!
