CES 64 TEASER 9/17/2021

CES returns with their 64th event this Friday, September 17th.  This event will be taking place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford Connecticut.  The fights should be starting around 7pm and the UFC Fight pass portion starts at 8pm.  CES has put together a great card featuring many big names in New England with the focus on a bunch of Connecticut fighters.  There are a total of 10 pro fights and 2 of them will be for a title.  Tickets are still available here at this link here.  Unfortunately due to our work schedules we will not be able to make this event but I will do live results all over social media and of course up on the website.  Let me break down the fight card for you all.  This should be the close to the exact fight order.

135 PRO Charra Phon (0-0 Ultimate MMA) vs. Aaron Reese (0-2 Jackson Wink MMA)

In the first fight of the night Charra Phon will be taking on Aaron Reese at 135 lbs.  Phon trains with Ultimate MMA and will be making his pro debut.  As an amateur, he went 1-1 with 1 win by split decision and 1 loss by split decision.  His opponent is Aaron Reese and he comes from Jackson Wink MMA.  He comes into this fight with an 0-2 record with 1 loss by ko/tko and 1 loss by decision.  This is a well matched fight and I see this one going the distance to a decision.

125 PRO David Durao (0-0 FAA) vs. Israel Galvan (1-2 KD MMA)

Next up is at 125 lbs David Durao will be squaring off against Israel Galvan in the 2nd fight of the night.  David trains with Fighting Arts Academy in CT and he will be making his pro debut.  As an amateur, he went 5-2 with his only two losses to Mitch Raposo by decision.  For his wins, he won 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 3 by decision.  His opponent is Israel Galvan and he trains with KD MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-2 record with his 1 win by submission.  For his 2 losses, he lost them by way of decision.  This is another close match up that I think will be going the distance.

145 PRO Nate Ghareeb (3-1 Kuzushi Combat Club ) vs. Eduardo Rodrigues (1-0)

Then at 145 lbs Nate Ghareeb will be entering the cage against Eduardo Rodrigues.  Nate trains with Kuzushi Combat Club and comes into this fight with a 3-1 record.  He has all 3 wins by way of ko/tko and no doubt he is looking for another quick finish like his last CES performance in Springfield MA.  His 1 loss was by decision at a former Bellator event.  His opponent is Eduardo Rodrigues and he trains out of Lee, Mass.  He comes into this fight with 1 win by submission.  This is sure to be an exciting fight with Nate wanting to keep it standing to work his striking and Eduardo will most likely want to get this fight on the ground before he takes too much damage.  This one is going to be real fun to watch!

125 PRO Harris Bonfiglio (2-1 Ultimate MMA) vs.  Kyle Lindner (0-0 Shield Systems MMA)

Harris Bonfiglio will be taking on Kyle Lindner at 125 lbs.  Harris trains with Ultimate MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  In the win column he has both wins by way of submission.  For his 1 loss, he lost it by ko/tko to Jornel Lugo.  His opponent is Kyle Lindner and he trains with Shield Systems MMA.  Kyle will be making his pro debut and as an amateur he went 5-0 with 4 submission wins and 1 by decision.  I see this one being a back and forth ground battle which is going to be a real treat to watch.

135 PRO Alexandra Ballou (2-1) vs. Gabriella Gulfin (2-3 Class One MMA)

Next up is the women's bout between Alexandra Ballou and Gabriella Gulfin.  Ballou steps into the cage with a 2-1 record with both wins by ko/tko.  Her 1 loss came by way of submission back in March of this year.  Her opponent is Gabriella Gulfin and she trains with Class One MMA.  She comes into this fight with a 2-3 record with 1 win by submission and 1 by decision.  For her losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 1 by decision.  She has lost her last 3 fights and she will be looking to break that streak this Friday.  I see this one being a real close match that could go either stand up or on the ground.  We will have to wait how this one pans out.

185 PRO Shane O’Shea (4-2 Jupiter Boxing Club) vs Justin Sumter (7-4 FAA)

Then at 185 lbs Shane O'Shea will be taking on Justin Sumter.  Shane trains with Jupiter Boxing Club and comes into this fight with a 4-2 record.  In the win column he has 2 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 1 by split decision.  His opponent is Justin Sumter and he trains out of Fighting Arts Academy.  He comes into this fight with a 7-4 record with 1 ko/tko, 4 submission and 2 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  I see this one being a stand up war.  Both fighters aren't afraid to slug it out and I think they will want to put on a show for the fans in the crowd and the fans at home.

135 PRO TITLE Josh Smith (10-6 ATT) vs.  Jay Perrin (9-4 Syndicate)

At 135 lbs Josh Smith will be facing battling Jay Perrin for the title.  Josh trains with American Top Team and comes into this fight with a 10-6 record.  In the win column, he won 3 by ko/tko, 5 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 ko/tko, 3 submission and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Jay Perrin.  He trains out of the Syndicate now and comes into this fight with an 9-4 record.  In the win column, he has 2 ko/tko, 3 submission and 4 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 3 by decision.  After a few cancelled bouts Jay Perrin is anxious to get back into the cage again.  This fight is going to be an all out war and it has fight of the night all over it!!

155 PRO Rodolfo Barcellos (1-1 Xtreme Ambition) vs. Eddy George (3-0 FAA)

At 155 lbs Rodolfo Barcellos will be facing off against Eddy George.  Rodolfo trains with Xtreme Ambition and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He won 1 fight by submission and lost his 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is Eddy George and he trains with Fighting Arts Academy.  He comes into this fight with a perfect 3-0 record with all 3 wins by ko/tko.  I see this one being ground battle in a grueling back and forth dogfight.

170 PRO  Gary Balletto Jr. (6-2 Triforce) vs. Daniel Frunza (4-1)

Then at 170 lbs Gary Balletto will be taking on Daniel Frunza. Gary trains with Triforce and comes into this fight with a 6-2 record.  In the win column, he won 2 by ko/tko and 4 by submission.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Daniel Frunza and he is fighting out of Miami Florida.  He comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 3 of them being KO's.  He lost his 1 loss by submission back in 2016.  This should be a good stand up battle.

155 PRO TITLE Matt Bessette (24-10 Underdog BJJ) vs. Ryan Dela Cruz (12-7 808 Fight Factory)

In the main event Matt Bessette will be fighting Ryan Dela Cruz for the title.  Matt trains with Underdog BJJ and comes into this fight with a 24-10 record.  In the win column, he has 8 by ko/tko, 8 by submission and 8 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 ko/tko, 1 submission, 7 by decision and 1 DQ.  His opponent is Ryan Dela Cruz and he trains with 808 Fight Factory.  He comes into this fight with a 12-7 record with 5 ko/tko, 1 submission and 6 decision wins.  For his losses, he lost 1 ko/tko, 2 submission and 4 by decision.  I see this one being a 5 round war!  I definitely see this one as being a fight of the night contender.
